From what I looked up. it looks like a Canadian reprint of Range Romances #3 (April 1950) from Quality Comics linkWow yes it looks like it! How were you able to find this? I have a few more Bell features Comics I'd like to find. I was able to search on comics.org and got lucky using the character names. It's hit or miss sometimes because whoever is the indexer adds extra info like the characters and synopsis, but not all the time especially with non-superhero comics. Does the comic have this one story or more? We know it's at least from around 1950-1953, but a lot of times when it comes to reprints, they pull from more than one issue and it might help narrow down a date more,

Looking up Bell Features via internet I found several articles noting they were doing big business printing comics in Canada from 1941 to 1945. In '45 the shipping/publishing laws changed and opened up the border for US comics and magazine distribution into Canada. They didn't last very long afterwards that I can tell.
That's Canadian cultural history in a nutshell: unable to develop a national identity because of its proximity to a much larger and more powerful entity. Resistance was futile! So they didn't even try.

antoine, you can read Range Romances #3 at comicbookplus.com and see if the other stories in RR #3 are the same as in your SS comic, as mlk78 suggested (though as mlk78 also noted, the reprints probably use stories from different issues). linkYou can also check out RR #4, #5, etc. on comicbookplus to get a better sense of when your comic would have been published. We know SS #11 must have been published after RR #5 (cover dated August 1950, so probably on sale a few months earlier than that date), since it's using #5's cover. Seems like quite an interesting comic you have there! Where did you find your RR comic? Online, or in a LCS?

I'll check and report back when I get the time. at least 3 of the stories are the same as RR#3, haven't check all of it yet. I bought it from an auction on MaxSold. Kind of like eBay but you have to pick up the stuff you win. I Got two lot of comics for around 50$. That's the one that caught my eyes but there was also a Cowgirl Romances, a couple Four Color, Buccanners, Straight Arrow, a few Lone ranger related comics, some Charlton romance, etc..

So it's a reprint page for page of Range Romances #3, except for the cover and the ads in the inside covers. I'm still curious to know if there is really 11 issues in that series!

I've read that Archie Goodwin created 4 of the New Universe titles and started the writing on 2 of them (Nightmask and Justice). Does anybody know what the other 2 were?

How do you end up renaming Range Romances as Six Shooter?

How do you end up renaming Range Romances as Six Shooter? If I had to guess, they might had put more standard western stories at first and then changed into the romannce format. But there's no telling as there's no info on the title anywhere on the internet, so unless other issues pop up...

Merc lasted 12 issues with an annual while Ps-Force held on for 32 issues. I really have no memory of Merc and Psi-Force I really only remember the teens could combine together summoning Psi-Hawk. And Texeiera artwork is all I recall. New Universe as a whole was mostly bleh. DP 7 was interesting.

Didn't Peter David write Mark Hazzard? I seem to recall it getting flack for racism/stereotypes in storylines, from the Comics Journal.
DP7 was the only one I recall having much of an audience and receiving praise and I think it ran the longest. I flipped through one or two, but never read them or any of the others books. My ex-brother-in-law was pretty big on DP7 and Justice.
