I will be attending Steel City Con with my wife, daughters, and friends on August 10th. It's not actually a comic convention, though many comic dealers do set up there. We like it because it has a little of something for everyone, especially fun has-been celebrities. I'm especially looking forward to meeting Levar Burton. www.steelcitycon.com/

I live just about 10-15 minutes from the Monroeville Convention Center, so I might pop by on Friday afternoon once I get out of work. I've been in the past and wasn't terribly impressed with the selection of comics, but I work with a woman whose husband is a big-time classic Star Wars toy dealer and she said that the organizer of the show is making a concerted effort to get more comics dealers to show up.

There are a few comic dealers there that I really like visiting, but I agree that it's not a show primarily dedicated to comics. If you don't like the B actors or the toys, then it probably isn't worth your time.

I'm probably just going to wait until the end of September for Pittsburgh Comicon. So far they've announced George Perez, Herb Trimpe, Bill Sienkiewicz and Katie Cook (she writes "My Little Pony" comics, which my daughters collect), and I always manage to find a bunch of good deals at that show.

Yep. My daughter has now met Katie Cook twice I used to like Pittsburgh, but then the whole murder scandal came up, and I haven't felt right supporting it since.
