Fade Out volume 2 and Saga volume 5. I liked, but did not love Fade Out volume 1 (liked Sleeper, Fatale and Crminal far more), but I loved Fade Out vol 2. Probably because 1 is mostly setup and 2 is the characters getting to move in all directions. I liked Fade Out significantly more than Fatale, but not nearly as much as Criminal. It's been so long since I've read Sleeper it would be unfair to try to discuss it...though I liked it a lot at the time I read it.

I'm a big Lovecraft fan so the premise of Fatale drew me more. I did like Fade Out 2 more than most of the Fatale TPBs.
Criminal is still best, Sleeper has the advantage of me being a big, big Wildstorm fan.

I just finished the third trade of Zero by Ales Kot and a bunch of different artists. It was kind of a disappointing read after the first two as it pretty much spent a manga like 30+ pages on a fight scene. I'm going to finish the series, but the pacing seemed really off at this point.

IXthe Generation by Hawkins and Sejic. (I got a some nice bol.com (basically dutch version of Amazon.com) gift cards as a farewell present from one of my customers, so Ive been picking up some trades I wanted to). It also contains a preview for Death Vigil, but I already am following that title. Overall, I liked Sejic's solo work or his work with writers on Rat Queens and Ravine better, but it's a nice far future sci-fi title so far and I'm curious where it's going (though looking at the ad in the latest Rat Queens/Death Vigil, it seems Sejic is no longer on art.)

Placed an order with Amazon that arrived this morning, including:
The Fade Out Vol. 2 The Sixth Gun Vol. 4 Descender Vol. 1 and the new collection from Titan Books of Philippe Druillet's The 6 Voyages of Lone Sloane.
One other book was in the order, but it won't arrive until next week as it was a pre-order (and not indy) and that was Star Wars: Shattered Empires, because, well Rucka was writing it.

I read Jupiter's Circle on the train in today... good stuff. It's really like a 50s slice of life story with a bit of superheroics thrown in, with lots of cute shoutouts to comic book history. There are features on the Flare (mid-life Crisis Flash, who goes and gets a trophy wife, then regrets it), Grey Fox (alcoholic Batman), and Blue Bolt (Gay Starman). I know it sounds all Millar-y and terrible, but it was actually quite good.. I hope he continues with the Jupiter books. I think the journey through time will be pretty interesting.

Read Amelia Cole and the Unknown World on the commute in to... excellent book! I can't wait to see what my 14 year old thinks of it. I'd never heard of the creators before (I got it solely do to having a female lead and looking like something my daughter would like) and was pleasantly surprised.. great art, fun (if basic) plot, moves along nicely, just a good comic.

Been reading the issues kinda spread out but I just finished the Wicked & Divine volume 2. It is more of an interesting read than great. The colors and artwork are very stylish and at points unique. The premise seems to be very of it's time and might have different appeals to younger readers growing up in this weird online celebrity culture. I definitely get a vibe of "i'm reading someone else's pop media" from the comic. Got to say, I did not see the end of V2 coming the way it did, so I am curious to see where they go from here. It's a very talky comic but so far interesting world being built. Series so far raises more questions than it answers as you really don't know the whole story about the Pantheon through the years and how it has fit into the world etc.

My wife and I stopped in at an Ollie's Discount store today. and I found a copy of RASL Vol. 1 The Drift in the oversized album format for $3. I read RASL about a year ago from the library and wanted to pick it up (was leaning towards the all in one edition) but couldn't pass up the price on this volume.
They had a few other trades I wasn't interested in (I did pick up a bunch of the Checkers Steve Canyon volumes there a while back) and 20 packs of comics (mostly 90s stuff but some 80s and 2000s stuff mixed in) sealed for $5 (kind of a grab bag thing. I didn't see any of the books on the outside that grabbed my attention, so passed (mostly say 90's X-books and Superman books and 90s Image books on the outside). They had a few Archie digest sized trade collections too that were tempting, but I passed. The only other thing I picked up was a copy of Stephen King's crime novel Joyland for $3 as well.
