Thank you all for the great honor of winning last week's contest. I excitedly await the delivery of my prize money by bikini-clad supermodels.
For this week's contest I proclaim a theme of airplanes. One or many, as you like - but no helicopters. We don't want their kind here.
And of course the traditional rules, addenda, and provisos:
Contest Rules
-Post one, and only one, classic cover that fits the theme of the contest.
-Cover must be from a published comic book or collected volume published before Jan 1 2004 (this is a classics comic forum and we voted 10 years as the unofficial standard for being a classic).
-Covers must be posted before voting begins.
-Voting runs from 12 AM PST Tuesday until 12 AM Wednesday PST.
-Vote by posting the name of the poster whose cover best fits the theme or that you simply like the most.
Put the name in bold.
-The winner of the contest is the entrant with the most votes after the voting period ends.
The winner chooses the theme for the next week's contest.
-If you don't think the cover fits the theme, don't vote for it, don't post disparaging remarks about it. If a cover is more recent that the Classic time frame, kindly point it out and the poster can choose an alternate before voting begins.
-Have fun!

Here's another nod to a series that deserves more recognition:
