Speaking of slow weight loss... yesterday I was at 165.0, today I'm at 163.6 Now, that's a bit of an aberrant number, as I weighed in a couple of hours later than usual, after a rare lie-in this morning, so I suspect it will bounce back up a bit from there, but even so... I'm under 164!! That's my first stretch target gone, 4 whole British stones of weight shifted, in a few days over a year. I'm officially the lightest I've been for 32 years! My last slab of dense belly fat seems to be breaking up (apologies if anyone was eating when they read that ), so I think I'm getting really close to bottoming out my weight - I think another 3 or 4 pounds and I'm done. Which is all for the good, as I'm actually getting skinny now, and I've certainly lost muscle mass. My session with the PT went well, and I'm going to be doing a 3 or 4 weeks of preparation next to get ready for probably 25 weeks of strength building (and hopefully some bulk) In other news, I've signed up to a Tour de France challenge for cycling. Not quite at the same level as the pros - the idea is for a team to do the same mileage as each tdF stage between them rather than individually. Still going to be a bit of a stretch though. In preparation, I specced out a much longer & tougher route home and cycled it last night - 22 miles instead of 10, and it all went really well - a little bit of DOMS today, but otherwise OK. Now looking at lengthening my route to work as well.

Worked out everyday from April 12th to about June 6th or so. Lifted for a couple of hours one day, and then I would run for 30 minutes the next day. So lifting and cardio one day after the other. All at my local gym. At home I did pushups, situps, or pullups/chinups in the middle of the day for a couple of minutes just because whatever. This is the best start I've had and I've noticed some slow, but satisfying results. I'm not disciplined enough (or bright enough) to invest the time to calorie count. I know there are apps like MyFitnessPal, but I still think it's a huge time drain to count and monitor everything. Hopefully I'll get around to it. I meal prepped for about a month. Just eat rice, chicken/beef, and vegetables for about a month. I figured I would be okay with the trade of not having to think about what to cook everyday if it meant eating the same thing almost all the time. Also I cut out sugar and sweets and just drank water, which I did 99% of the time anyways. After that nearly two month stretch I got food poisoning for a week and caught up with my overseas moving plans. Was still able to get a couple of final workouts in before I had to leave my gym. Now I'm on a month long road trip with my extended family before I leave the country. Still running every 2nd morning when I can outside. I also got a nice resistance band set a couple of weeks back. Been using it on the road. Also got into jump roping a few weeks ago too. I've got better at it. A fitness book I had lying around for a long time I finally picked up. It's helped me prepare for my options on the road before I find a new gym. So hopefully I can limit impact of being out of the gym for a month plus. Watching my portions and options when being on vacation has been tough, but I try to keep in mind where I want to be eventually. I do wish I had my pullup bar though. I'm afraid a month off of that will suck.

TdF cycle challenge kicks off on Saturday... I must admit I'm suffering from pre-event nerves, looking at the mileages some of the other competitors are racking up, which is daft as it's a team event and the teams are sort-of balanced by the expected mileages of the members, though it's going to require me to somehow work around two weekends away, and to cycle for 24 consecutive days. I'm on track to hit about 410-420 miles this month (which will make it my best month ever), and aiming at 500+ for next month
Weight is fluctuating, not helped by my 4th successive weekend of massively blowing my calorie limits, with another one likely this weekend - today at 166.0, nearly 3 pounds above my lowest weight.

I plan to weigh in twice a week ( Monday/Thursday) for good or for ill. I started lifting weights again and plan to bike a few times a week.

March 8 2016- 221.8 March 15 2016-219.2 March 22 2016-219.8 May 2 2016- 215.2 May 9 2016-213.2 May 13 2016- 210 May 20 2016 -205.6 May 27 2016-212 June 7 2016- 210.4 June 30 2016- 211.6I'm going in the wrong direction. In my feeble defense, We had house guests the last 12 days and it interrupted my eating plan. Nothing I can do now except watch my food closer than I have. Overall, I dropped one pound this month. It's a huge disappointment.

What's your eating / exercising plan, 'bone? Are you tracking calories / estimating portion size / other?

I am eating well in the AM but in the afternoon, I am under-eating and by the evening, I'm ravenous and end up eating too much. Too much fast food. I'm planning to start cooking and taking my food with me every day. This way I am not at the mercy of fast food places.

Another weekend of eating insane amounts of crap (pizza & approximately my bodyweight in cake and chocolate yesterday) left me at 170 pounds this morning, a mere 6.4 pounds up since the start of this page of the thread. Sigh.
Hopefully, once that passes through I'll be slightly less far away from my previous weight.
OTOH, gradually increasing cycling distances - just under 29 miles today.

simply can NOT keep my mouth shut, so been a real struggle these past few weeks.
the only bright side, is that I'm still maintaining about 2-3 lbs from my lowest weight (for going on 6 weeks now).

My eating has suffered the last few days on this vacation. I started drinking soda a few times. Still drinking water most of the time, but on a couple of nights out (or three actually) within the last few days I decided to go the soda route. I'll stop that as it just isn't me. Also, ice cream on more than a couple of occasions. Watching what I eat on the road is getting more difficult. Especially with us going out as a group to eat every day someplace. Trying to just keep the portions in mind, but I still slip. My only saving grace to a degree is that I'm still doing at least an hour of gym exercising every day and running for 30 minutes every day in between those days like I previously described. Finally was able to get to a couple of hotels (Best Western) with a fitness center that had a pull up bar (although this latest one is shaky as hell which irked me when I first tried it). Seeing all of those beautiful looking people on pintrest photos does keep me motivated though. I need to keep them in mind when I stuff my mouth.

You actually cycle 29 miles on a given day? ... That's amazing! My base daily commute is 20 miles (round trip). I've got very limited scope to cycle at the weekend (unless I want to go through a divorce), so I've been trying to up my mileage by making my commute less direct. Up to yesterday, I'd extended the regular morning leg to 14.5 miles and the homeward leg varied mostly between 10 & 15 depending how energetic I felt, with one outlier of 22. This morning, I tried a new course, which was intended to take the 14.5 up to about 16. A couple of teeny tiny directional errors later, I finally arrived at work having done just short of 24.5 miles Felt pretty good afterwards, despite that being my longest ride of the year, but I think I'll take the short route home tonight! Back down to 168 pounds this morning.

Last weekend's binge weight seems to have mostly dropped off/out, back down to 166.2 today.
