Water Polo will start real soon and my next league will start on January 22nd and I'll weigh myself this Friday to see where I'm at this point. Two Matches a week for 14 weeks and looking forward to it.

I'm down to 245 today, lost 2 pounds due to extra swimming to get myself back to Water Polo Shape.

I weighed in at 190.4, pretty much the same as before. It's funny because I'm not eating to my plan of low carbs no sugar but I guess I'm just eating enough to stay the same.

I'm back!
I've had some weight swings over the past couple of years, but after dropping from 249 down to the 205 range three years ago, I've mostly kept it off, bouncing around between 199 and 220 - usually landing in the 210 range.
Over the past few months, though, I've jumped from around 204 in April to 235.
I've decided it's time to get serious about losing weight. My initial goal is 210. I've found I can more or less maintain 210, but when I get down around 200, I almost always go back up to 210 right away, probably due to my lifestyle, which involves working from home on this computer all day and not much physical activity. With diet alone I think I can maintain 210, but beyond that I will need to change my activity levels. So! We're looking to lose roughly 25 pounds to start, and then we'll see how it's going once I get to 210.
I've been working on this for a few days now. Today I weighed in at 232.8. My girlfriend is also in the process of losing weight, and we're both using a phone app called Lose It! to track our food intake and exercise numbers. So that support I think will be very helpful for both of us moving forward. Just getting in the mindset of watching what I eat in order to log it in the app has already led to some better decision making since I am thinking about what I'm eating instead of just reflexively eating stuff.

ok.. so I've been back on exercise plan for about 2 weeks, and I'm back up to ~an hour walk 4-5 times a week thus far.
so not much, but it's something.
still having trouble getting the food/portion stuff back under control (after a brutally bad ending to 2017, where I just STOPPED at the end of October. . both exercise and diet). but at least trying to get back on plan.
finally gave in and weighed this morning: 198.8
on the one hand, thank goodness still under 200 lbs. (I imagine if I had weighed on Jan 1, I would have been over, and then crushed with depression over it).
in the grand scheme of things, I know I started close to 248lbs. . so I'm still down 50 lbs. But it means in my grief, I put back on almost 25lbs, which is shocking to me.
but gonna try to stick with things, and we shall see how this goes. . (I also had Chinese food for lunch and pasta for dinner on Thurs, so there's every chance at least a few of the 198.8lbs is water weight).
will be weighing once a week, and hopefully soon, will be able to fit more comfortably back in my clothes.

I would take a whole lot of binging to put the remaining 50 pounds on. You can just make small changes like eat food without rice and bread and the weight will start to go down again. Good luck, Bert.

I'm at 244 and I lost nearly 2 inches off my waist and thinking of getting down to 225 and stop there. I was thinking of going down to 210-215 range; but my doctor advises me 220-225 for my body size. So, after thinking with my Doctor ... I'm going to get down to 220 and that another 24 pounds to get off by June of this year. My goal is to slowly get there and that's a reasonable goal to get there. I just got back from swimming and my Doctor and I do this together. He'll be joining the Water Polo league too. I'll report back in a couple of weeks to see how I'm doing ...

Last week, I weighed in at 232.8. One week later and I'm at 232.2 for each of the past two days.
I was hoping to see more movement, but it's a start. Stabilizing is a good first step - and least now I'm not mindlessly munching on snacks.

I'm at 197 this morning. This has been a week of vacation and an uptick in weight is the norm, but also I twisted my ankle a week ago and there's less movement as a result. But no excuses, It's about what I've been eating which has been whatever I like.

although terrified to get on the scale (what if I didn't lose anything? it would put me into a tail spin. . . I mean, I've been exercising almost every day, and I did dance for 3 hours straight last Sunday night . . .but I started off with Sushi all you can eat Sat, then heavy bday lunch for a friend (including cake) on Sun, then Mexican food with work team on Monday. . tho had been "good" since. . but was SO worried I was gonna be disappointed). but I got on the scale. Re-started my diet plan last Sat at 198.8 lbs. today: 195.8 lbs. so down 3 lbs. yay me (not huge, but that's pretty standard, to lose 10-12 lbs per month, so 3 lbs in a week is great!). will check in next Sat and hopefully the downwards trend will continue.

I've joined two water polo leagues and sad to say this ... I'm staying on the league that I've first joined and can't do the 2nd league because its interferes my family and friends life that I just feel it's not a right thing to do. So, no water polo in mid-winter to spring for me and my other (original league) one will start mid-spring to the end of June and that's acceptable for me to be part of.
My doctor and I decided not to be part of it. He prefers the one that I joined first because of his inexperience.

Gain a pound in seven days - at 245 now. Workout this morning and did a couple miles on the treadmills and spent some time on the stationary bike as well. Weighed myself before workout this morning. Little tired and back to the gym on Monday!

Gonna screw it up tonight with an Anniversary dinner (oh yes, there will be cake).. . (our Anniversary was Tues).
but was really good all week, exercising at least an hour a day every day last week, plus dancing last night for 3+ hours non-stop.
so, very pleased with today's weigh in:
down another ~3.5 lbs~
so as of this morning: 192.4 lbs (from "restart" weight of 198.8 on 1/13/18).
hopefully can keep this up to be back to my goal weight in the next two months.

After 2 weeks of being layed up with a ankle sprain ( and eating quite a bit off plan) I had to courage to weigh myself. I was pleased that I was still under 200 pounds ( 197.4). Yesterday I returned to work and stood/walked for 9 hours and I'm sure that brought me down a pound or so. This is the first January I can remember being under 200.

My wife's company, as part of their commitment to helping employees and their families live healthier lives, sponsors a "weight race" every spring. The object is to set a goal, however modest or ambitious one wishes to chase, of how many pounds that person aims to lose in the time period (I think it is somewhere between 8 and 12 weeks total).
After years of avoiding it, I'm finally going to do it this year. I need some way of motivating myself to get off my fluffy butt, so having a target to shoot for might be just what I need.
