Thank you so much for the link and the chance to be a part of this new classic comics forum - I mainly lurked on the old one, but it was pretty much the only forum I ever visited on CBR so it was quite a shock to go online and discover it gone!

So why was it that Jonah shut down Classic's? It was the one place where good manners ruled. Honestly I was rather surprised. Seems counterintuitive to get rid of the board with the most respectful and most well behaved posters.

I'm liking it here. It's like we used to be renting a room in somebody's house and now we have our own house. Complete with a lawn we can yell at kids to get off. It's certainly nice not to have to worry about the forum disappearing on someone's whim again. Still, I miss some things. In particular, I miss the page navigation buttons showing up at the bottom of the page, right when and where you need them. And having arrow buttons and first/last buttons, not just number buttons, to click. On the other hand, this doesn't appear to be costing any participant any money, so I guess I can get used to it.

Once I get the hang of the basics, there's a LOT of customization that can be done on these boards, as well as a lot of things you stupidly cannot change. In time, I hope to learn the difference between the two.

Well, what the hell do you know?
There's now a "Classics & Collected" forum at the old site. Sometimes, complaining works.
Zero threads so far.

Looks like somebody is moving old threads in there now.

This will likely be my comics home base from now on, although I'm not leaving CBR. I'll likely not check in as often though.

By the way, when Mr Weiland edits his posts, it does not say "post edited by... at..." at the bottom. Does that kind of stealth editing work for other mods?

Classics & Collected?
Perhaps because collected editions are new and thus can be tied into advertising.

Classics & Collected? Perhaps because collected editions are new and thus can be tied into advertising. Nope. It's because us guys in the various "Hardcover Discussion" threads having been begging for a collected editions board (to avoid having the community spread across three boards). I reckon CBR's logic was that since most of the books we talk about are releases of material that falls in the CBR's timespan for "Classic" material we kinda bumped into yours.

Well that's a much better answer. I must just be in a cynical mood at the moment.
