Nah. Archie faced off against the Punisher in the '90s. He's been doing shameless crossovers for decades now.
And, apparently, the Punisher crossover was actually pretty good!

The crossovers are more frequent now, but I think they're popular with readers who typically won't read Archie, so if it expands readership, even by a couple thousand, it's all for the good.
