“Mrs. Queen, I assure we are doing everything we can to figure out what happened here last night.” The police officer said, trying to keep Oliver and Dinah Queen back.
“But my baby…..” Dinah cried.
“Come on Di, let them do their job.” Oliver Queen said, escorting his wife to the resorts lobby. Yellow tape was posted everywhere and detectives were busy questioning resort staff. Just then, Hal and Carol Jordan burst through the door.
Carol and Dinah hugged each other.
“Ollie, what’s going on? No one seems to know what happened.” Hal Jordan said, visibly shaken.
“I don’t know. We got a call to get here as quickly as possible. All we know so far is that both Didi and Dan are missing….and their room is covered in blood.” Oliver replied, worry in his voice.
“It has to be one of their enemies…or one of ours….neither of our kids is exactly a pushover. They would have easily stopped a common thief.” Hal said.
“Why are we just sitting here? Get Bruce in there! He’ll figure it all out and find them before the police even file a report!” Carol cried angrily.
“Carol, I’m as worried as you but we can’t just go in there guns blazing. They were here as Dan and Didi Jordan, civilians. We have to patient. Once they clear out, Rob’s going in. He’ll probably pick up on clues they miss.”
Carol looked at her friend. “You’re right. We have to be optimistic. You’d think we’d all be used to this by now, waiting and worrying about our children.”
“I don’t think I ever got used to it.” Dinah half smiled and took Carol’s hand.

Hour later, day had become night and the room occupied by the newlyweds was empty. An athletic figure made his way in, slipping past the police tape as well as police officers standing guard. Dark Arrow surveyed the room. “My Lord…..” he saw blood. Blood everywhere. The room was a shambles. “They put up a fight.” He made his way around the suite. The police had turned the suite upside down. “Didn’t leave me much to work with.” Just then he heard something moving around in bathroom. He drew his bow and silently crept towards the door. He noticed it was half open and saw a dim light. He cautiously opened the door with his foot.
“You!” He whispered as the Huntress pointed her crossbow at his face while he pointed his bow at her chest.
“You should invest in lighter shoes. I heard you come in.” the Huntress smiled, putting her crossbow away.
“What are you doing here?” Dark Arrow asked.
“Same as you, looking for clues. So far, I’ve turned up nothing.”
Dark Arrow noticed the blood all over the bathtub and the splatter on the walls. “Do you think….I mean, with all this blood…”
“Well, we don’t know if this is their blood or their attackers. All of their personal effects are here. The weird thing is there’s no trail. Like whoever’s blood this is never left this room. From what I can figure out, the attack started in the bedroom and then ended in here.”
“You think some metahuman did this? Maybe someone who can teleport?”
“Maybe. Didi’s purse is still here and so is Dan’s wallet. Both untouched. Both of their luggage is here. I think they’ve been abducted….and I pray they’re alive.”
“d**n. Who would do this? They just got married. Whoever did this had to know they were here. None of this makes sense.” Rob said as he paced and his worry becoming more intense.
The Huntress walked around the room and recalled the training her father gave her. She also remembered some of the tricks her mother taught her. “Think Helena. You’re missing something.” She looked around the room and walked over to the doors leading to the terrace. She opened the door and examined the patio. Everything looked untouched. She pulled a flashlight from her utility belt and noticed some small drops of blood near the terrace.
“Dark Arrow, I believe they left this way.” She said pointing at the blood splatter. “Someone who could fly or a teleporter came out here and they left this way.”
“Good work. Now we just have to find who.”
The Huntress pressed her earpiece. “Red Robin, have you pulled up the police reports?”
“I have. No witnesses, no nothing. All we know is that some guests reported hearing the disturbance and contacted the front desk. They summoned the police. No one saw anything strange. Huntress, wait.” Red Robin said as he read further. “Looks like the resort security talked to a drunk couple at the pool. They reported seeing a green blur coming from the direction of the Jordans’ room. They wrote it off as the couple had been drinking. That’s all I have.”
“Good work.” Huntress said looking to Dark Arrow.
“Green blur? Could Dan have gotten away? Gave chase to someone who took Didi?”
“Ok, assuming the green blur was Dan….he could have chased after the attacker. Did anyone try to track them via their communicators?”
Dark Arrow said, “That was the first thing I checked on this morning. The Flash was on duty and he got no signal from either of them.”
“Communicators probably destroyed by the attacker.” Huntress said. “Arrow, as much as I hate to say this, I’m stumped. It’s like your sister and Dan have vanished into thin air.”
“This can’t be happening.”
“Rob, I’m as upset as you are. Your sister is one of my best friends. We have to keep it together if we’re going to find them.”
“You’re right. So what next?”
“Who booked this place?”
“I think Dan did. On his laptop.”
“I want access to that laptop. Maybe someone knew he’s Green Lantern and hacked into the laptop, figured out they would be here. I know it’s vague, but it’s a start.”
“It’s better than nothing. Come on. There’s a Titans of Authority transport tube nearby. We can be at Dan’s apartment in seconds.

Her eyes popped open with a start. The first thing she saw was the night sky. She felt the warm breeze and heard leaves rustle. Didi Jordan tried to stand, but couldn’t. She touched her face and looked at her hands…..blood. “Don’t panic.” She thought. “If you panic, you’ll bleed more.” She tried to call out. All that came from her throat was a garbled murmur. She touched her throat and felt a gaping wound.
“Oh God….Dan…Dan? He did this…to me?” she thought, her mind racing. All she could remember was Dan beating her and…….the last memory was so horrible she stopped thinking about it. She tried to roll over on her side, but couldn’t. Her body was like melting jello. “My parents….Rob….they can’t find me…not like this…..”
A tear rolled down her cheek mixing with the blood. She reached out, reaching for nothing in particular and saw defense wounds on her hands. “This has to be a dream….Dan would never hurt me….but why…why can’t I wake up…” she thought as she drifted off into unconsciousness.

Back at Dan Jordan’s apartment, The Huntress had Red Robin tap into Green Lantern’s laptop.
“It’s clean. No viruses, no tracking devices, nothing.” Red Robin replied into Huntress’s earpiece.
“d**n.” Huntress said, shutting the laptop. “Arrow, did you find anything?”
“No, this place is as neat as a pin. Of course, Dan was always tidy.” Dark Arrow said examining a book shelf.
“DARK ARROW!!!!” Kid Comet’s psychic voice boomed in Dark Arrow’s head. Huntress noticed him stagger and start talking aloud.
“Dave, could you give me a warning before you do that?! You scared me half to death!”
“Sorry, but I’ve working on trying to pick up on your sister and Green Lantern. I’ve detected his thoughts not far from where you are. An old meat packing plant about 3 blocks away.” Kid Comet said.
“What about Didi?”
“I’m still trying, but so far I can’t detect her……I’m sorry.”
“It’s ok Dave, please keep trying.”
Dark Arrow explained what Kid Comet had told him. Seconds later, Huntress and Dark Arrow were on their way to the abandoned meat packing plant. The plant stunk of old meat and blood. Dust and cobwebs covered the place. Windows were broken out and the tin roof had rusted. Even the Huntress was bit uneasy about investigating this place.
“Come on. KC said she detected Dan’s thoughts near here. We have to find him!” Dark Arrow said.
“We can cover more ground if we split up. We’ll stay in contact with our communicators.” Huntress said, disappearing into the shadows.
Dark Arrow started walking around. He saw what once was an assembly packing line. In another room, old meat hooks were hung, caked with the remnants of meat and blood. “Straight out of a horror movie.” He thought to himself.
The Huntress quietly made her way through the plant. She tiptoed over machinery that had toppled as well as lighting that had fallen from the ceiling. She saw a busted out window and what appeared to be a figure sitting. “Dan?” she thought. The Huntress drew her bow and started walking towards the figure.
Dark Arrow entered a big room full of old meat freezers. “Can’t see….” He said, drawing an arrow with a flash light. The light illuminated the room and the freezers reminded him of coffins. “This place is giving me the creeps. Lilith, you better be right.” He was growing more and more uncomfortable as he noticed his communicator begin to make static noises. “Huntress? Huntress?” he whispered. “This is the point where I would be yelling at the dummy in the movie to run. Why am I not running?” he thought. “Huntress is tough. She can handle herself….still, I think I’d better go find her.”
As Dark Arrow turned, he thought he heard a noise coming from one of the freezers. “Someone…something trapped in one of them?” He started moving toward the sound, nervous about what he might find. Just as he determined which freezer the sound was coming from, he heard footsteps behind him. He spun around. “Dan! Thank God!!!” he said, Green Lantern coming into view. Just then he noticed Green Lantern carrying the body of the Huntress. Her face was covered in blood.
“Huntress…Green Lantern what’s going on….?”
Dark Arrow started walking towards them. “Dan, where’s Didi? Are you alright? What happened to Huntress?”
Before the young man could take another step, he noticed Green Lantern’s ring start to glow and a giant scythe manifested.
“That, old friend, will be the last question you ever ask.” Green Lantern smiled, bringing the scythe down on his best friend.
