The Hall of Justice...



“That was a very foolish mistake on your part.” Storm Surge said, staring Gold Bug down. Nemesis had just given the Titans of Authority the go ahead to ensure the Titans of Justice complied with the United Nation’s decree. Tom was communicating with the team, as well as the White House via Lilith’s psychic link.





“Lilith! If I know her, she’s got them all in psychic communication! Titans, be on guard!” Champion shouted as she noticed Corporal Marvel flying towards Lilith.





Lilith saw the young man flying at her and lifted her hand. “My new telekinesis comes in handy.” She smiled as Corporal Marvel was held in a stasis beam.





“I can’t move…” the young man huffed.





“Oh, you’re about to be moving alright.” Smiled Superboy, as he punched Corporal Marvel so hard, he was sent crashing through the ceiling.





Dark Arrow shouted, “Superboy follow him and keep him out of here!”





“You got it Dark Arrow!” the handsome young man replied, streaking off through the massive hole in the ceiling.

Power Guy announced, “I don’t know what’s gotten into you all, but I’ve had enough!” taking to the air.





Tom glanced at Hawkgirl who followed Power Guy skyward.

“Sorry PG.” she said, reaching into her belt and tossing a kryptonite net over Power Guy. He went crashing into the ground. Supergirl also immediately became sick.

“Supergirl! Get out of here until I can get rid of this!” Green Lantern shouted. Supergirl flew out of the Hall of Justice and decided to go after Superboy.





“Connor, Supergirl’s coming for you….be careful.” Lilith’s psychic voice said in Superboy’s mind.

Hawk Warrior engaged Hawkgirl in the air. “Have you lost your mind, woman?” he growled.





“You men! Always accusing the women of being hysterical when we see the world for what it really is!” she replied, slashing his thigh with her axe.

“AIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEE” Hawkgirl screamed, as Sonic Boom released her canary cry. Hawkgirl’s wings fluttered and she flew off balance. Green Lantern aimed his power ring at her, confining her in a giant green bird cage.

“A fitting trap.” Sonic Boom smiled at her boyfriend.





“Typically I don’t like seeing birds caged, but this time, I’ll allow it.” Hawk Warrior smiled, as blood poured from his thigh. His Nth metal quickly started healing his wounds.

Totem struck at Hawk Warrior with the strength of an elephant.

“Ooooof” he gasped as the wind was knocked out of him. “Your father would be disappointed in you.”

“Really?” Totem said as the two of them fought. “I’d think he’d commend me for my service to my country and for being an independent woman.”





“Aw come on Fishstick, show me what you got.” Goldbug laughed, jumping out of the way as Storm Surge tried to punch him.





“I don’t need my fists to stop the likes of you.” Storm Surge replied, sending his trident after the mouthy hero.

In mid-air, he noticed the trident turning around and heading back towards him. “Magno.”

Magno’s hands were raised in the air and Storm Surge could feel the metal in his costume begin to pull.

“This is pointless. We should be working together, not against each other. Just because we differ….differ…” Magno said, collapsing.





Apotheosis stood behind him. “There, that should shut him up.”





The Flash appeared out of nowhere, knocking Lilith over and breaking her concentration. He picked Apotheosis up in his arms, gaining momentum and running up a wall. Champion was waiting and wrapped Apotheosis in a metal beam. As he struggled to get free, the Amazon warrior tapped him on the forehead before he could absorb her abilities.

“Absorb that my friend.” The pretty Amazon smiled and high-fived the Flash.

“Whoa!” Flash gasped as a big beam of green energy knocked him to the side and Kitty Kat sprang out of nowhere.





“Yawnnnnnn!” like a walk in the park.” She hissed at Green Lantern. “A cat can keep this up for days.”





“I should trap you in a giant litter box!” the emerald warrior announced.

“So tacky!” Kitty Kat laughed doing a backflip and with one hand, she did a handstand on Green Lantern’s hand. He aimed his ring upward, however Kitty Kat dodged it with the agility of a cat. “NOW!!!” she shouted.

Before he could react, Dark Arrow fired an arrow at his best friend. Within seconds, Green Lantern’s hand was covered in a thick yellow substance.

“Not so tough without your ring are you?” Kitty Kat said, flipping Green Lantern over shoulder and knocking him out.

Hawkgirl emerged from her cage, mace swinging.

By now, Power Guy had shook off the effects of the kryptonite net and was back in the fight. He shoved Hawkgirl out of his way, sending her crashing into Dark Arrow.

“The scales just tipped in our favor!” Goldbug announced, seeing Power Guy sail through the air.

“Illumina, take him out!” Tom shouted.





Illumina took to the air, coming face to face with Power Guy.

“Don’t make me fight you and your friends. I won’t hold back.” The former leader of the Titans of Justice urged.

“I’m sorry it’s come to this. If only you’d listened.”





“You know your light powers can’t hurt me. In fact, they’ll power me up.”

“Is that so?” Illumina smiled, fanning her cape and producing a vibrant green light.

Power Guy turned green and fell to the floor again.

“I am truly sorry Vince. But, we came prepared.” She frowned. “Jo Jo, you’re up next!”

“Piece of cake!” the son of Ice and Guy Gardner said aiming his power ring at the gasping Power Guy. Before he could raise his head, Power Guy was wrapped in a green straight jacket. “I know you could easily escape one of the ring’s constructs, but the lab nerds hooked Illumina and me up with kryptonite particles especially for you.”





Miles away, Superboy and Corporal Marvel traded blows.

“You know, another time…another place we might have been friends.” Corporal Marvel said, striking with his hammer. Superboy caught it with one fist and punched Corporal Marvel with the other.

“Nothing personal, just doing my job.” Superboy replied.

“And being the IADC’s lapdog is your job?” Corporal Marvel said, landing a punch to Superboy’s nose, bloodying it.

“Look man, I’ve got no problem with you. Why don’t you just give up, disband like the President asked.” Superboy said, wiping blood from his nose.

For a moment the boys stopped fighting. “None of this makes sense to me. We go from being hailed as heroes and the next the government sends you all in after us. Doesn’t something seem fishy to you?” Corporal Marvel asked.

“You should go back to the Super Friends if you think reasoning with him will work, Corporal!” Supergirl said, whizzing by and ramming headfirst into Superboy’s abdomen.





“Jenna! Wait!!!” Corporal Marvel yelled.

Supergirl unleashed on Superboy, knowing he wouldn’t dare strike her back.

CRACK!!! He felt his jaw dislocate.

“You! Girl turn and face me!” came an otherworldly voice.

Lilith was levitating in the sky, her hair dancing as if it was on fire. Objects floated all around her and the air crackled with mystical energy. Corporal Marvel flew towards her. She glanced at him and sent a telekinetic bolt at the startled young man, knocking him out.

“I’ve heard about your freaky powers since your encounter with those other heroes. You don’t scare me!” Supergirl said, clenching her fists.

“You should fear me, foolish child.” Lilith smiled. She sent another telekinetic bolt at the Maid of Steel. Supergirl fought the bolt with all of her might, but within seconds the bolt knocked her to the ground.

CRACK! Superboy popped his jaw back into place and flew to Lilith’s side.

“You ok?” he asked.

“I’m ok…..that just took a lot out of me.” she said, collapsing into Superboy’s arms. He picked her up gently and lifted Corporal Marvel and Supergirl. He flew back towards the Hall of Justice.

“I never thought I’d see the day I’d be fighting my own friends.” Starman said to Dark Arrow.





“Me neither. You can always switch sides.”





“Never.” Starman said, unleashing a bolt of energy from the cosmic rod, scattering Dark Arrow, Storm Surge, and Hawkgirl.

Storm Surge and Starman fought viciously, the trident and cosmic rod clanging against each other.

“You know, you all have p*ssed me off just enough…..” Starman said through gritted teeth. He shifted his body weight, knocking Storm Surge off balance. Goldbug had a clear shot and sent a bolt at Storm Surge knocking him out.

“I’m ending this Dark Arrow.” Starman said.

The two men fought like maniacs. Dark Arrow dodging the rays from the cosmic rod and Starman using the rod to deflect the archer’s arrows. Out of the corner of his eye, Dark Arrow saw his sister and Champion approaching. He looked around and saw his teammates engaged in battle with the Titans of Justice. He saw Superboy land, carrying Lilith, Corporal Marvel, and Supergirl. By now Apotheosis had freed himself and rejoined the battle. The Hall of Justice echoed with crashes and screams.

“Hold on Space-man! I’m coming!” Goldbug announced. He jumped into the fray, just as Starman fired his cosmic rod. Due to Goldbug’s interference, the ray was sent off balance and struck Sonic Boom. Champion would swear the bolt was so strong, she could see Sonic Boom’s skeleton as the energy consumed her.

“Didi!!! Oh God!!!” Dark Arrow said, dropping his bow and running to his sister.

“Now’s my chance!” Goldbug smirked, sending a bolt at Dark Arrow, sending him sailing into the trouble alert screen.

“Why did you do that? He was checking on his sister!” Starman demanded.

“They aren’t holding back, why should we?” Realizing what he had done, Goldbug took a look around.

The Hall was in shambles, both sides had heroes down.

Nemesis ran to Dark Arrow’s side. He was dazed but ok. “My sister…how is she…”

“She’s fine. We need to end this.” Nemesis surveyed.

“I’ll say….Titans of Justice….go. Get out of here. I’ll give you a head start…take my sister get her help. I’ll hold off the IADC as long as I can…” Dark Arrow said, gesturing to his sister.

“What are you doing?” Nemesis demanded. “We’re under orders!”

“And I’m the leader of this group and I just gave my own order!” Dark Arrow said defiantly.

Champion looked at the security monitors. “IADC is approaching. They’ve brought out the big guns, lots of agents armed to the teeth. I know these weapons…..Dark Arrow is right. Gather the fallen and let’s get out of here!”

Nemesis looked at Champion and she gave him a confused look. Although she was falling in love with him, she was not happy that they were on opposite sides. He looked around for a moment. “You heard Dark Arrow, go get out of here. But be sure of this, I aim to see this mission through.”

Minutes later, what was left of the Titans of Justice quickly made their escape.

“Dark Arrow, you have some explaining to do.” Tom Tressor demanded.

“Look man, my sister got hurt. This didn’t go down like I expected. I thought with all the IADC gadgets we had, this would go a lot easier. I didn’t even think the Titans would put up a fight, but they did. They’re so quick to follow the rules, I thought they’d give up, go back to just being civilians or operate independently. ”

“Tell me how am I going to explain this to the United Nations council.” Tom argued.

“Tell them they gave us the slip. I don’t understand why we have to bring them in anyway. We got the Hall. Who cares what the Titans do now.”

“Well, we’ll see what happens.” Tom said.

“The Titans aren’t fools.” Illumina said. “They’ll regroup, try to regain the council’s favor. I don’t like fighting them, and things got out of hand…..”

“But, we were doing our jobs. We all knew it might come to this when we were briefed.” Totem sighed.

“Still, I wish it weren’t like this. The Titans are good people.” Superboy added.

“Come to think of it, Goldbug did start the fight. He threw the first punch.” Lilith reminded everyone.

“Come on team, let’s head back to hq. We need to regroup and figure out what comes next.

Miles Away…

“Titans Lair? Really?” The Flash surveyed the dust covered headquarters of the original Teen Titans.

“No one’s been in here for years.” Green Lantern surmised.

By now, Sonic Boom had come around. “I still can’t believe the Huntress…working with them.”

Champion chimed in, “DiDi, she has had trauma in her life. She’s so driven, so hard on herself….I don’t think she took the proper time to grieve Knightvision. Plus if she feels responsible for Barbara Gordon’s condition, I can understand her point of view.”

“What do we do know?” Black Vulcan asked. “This morning everything was fine, now the Titans of Justice are outlawed.”





Starman said, “I tell you what we do. We find out who’s behind this.”

“I agree. Something about all this just doesn’t add up for me.” Power Guy replied.

“I still think the others are traitors and cowards.” Goldbug said, reclining in an old meeting chair and propping his feet up on the Titans’ former meeting table.

“We can still be out and about and solve this mystery. We still have our secret identities.” Supergirl said.

“Good point. For now, maybe we should lie low and do some investigating.” Hawk Warrior added.

Power Guy thought for a moment and looked to Starman, “For now, The Titans of Justice go underground.”

Magno, who rarely spoke added his support for Power Guy’s plan. "I think that's our best option at the moment."

“Now, let’s make our plan.” Starman said.
