Gull's Island Prison: The Adjoining Cells of Lilith and Wonder
Girl
Princess Donna's dream for a wonderful future had crashed into a
horrible nightmare. She left Paradise Island to seek a new life in
Man's World. At first things looked hopeful with a promising position
on the Titans of Injustice. But now she sat humiliated, powerless,
and crippled in a damp prison cell.
"Psst! Wonder Girl!" said Lilith in an effort to get the Amazonian
teen's attention.
"What is it?" asked the young princess in misery.
"I have had a vision," expressed the seer. "Beware! He is coming!
Don't go with him, no matter what you do!"
"What!?! Who is coming?" asked Donna in alarm.
"Him. Attorney Harvey Dent," answered Lilith. "He is cruel and
ruthless. He pretends to be your friend and then he betrays you. The
underworld calls him 'Two-Face' because he has deceived so many
criminals. Whatever you do, when he comes DO NOT go with him! It
will be your ruin."
Princess Donna shuddered. She was powerless without the bracelets of
strength, the lasso of deception, and the belt of beauty. She had
never heard of this 'Two-Face.' "Why did I ever leave home?" thought
the Amazon in fear.
Immediately after Lilith's warning a couple of lady prison guards came
with a wheel chair and unlocked the door to Donna's cell. "What are
you doing!?!" asked the prisoner in panic. "Where are you taking me?"
The fear in her voice brought a smile to Lilith's face.
"Don't go with them!" warned Lilith.
"NO! NOOOOOOOO! I don't want to go!" demanded Princess Donna.
"Relax," said one of the guards in a reassuring tone. "Attorney Dent
would just like to ask you some questions.
"DON'T GO!" screamed Lilith. The smile on her face was now gone.
Desperation radiated from her eyes as she watched the guards wheel
Princess Donna away.
"NO! Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease!" screamed the crippled Amazon as
the guards wheeled her out of the prison corridor.
The Hall of Injustice
"So, are Huntress and Power Guy home yet?" asked Sonic Boom.
"They should be," answered Nucleus.
"Unless something went wrong," added Junjie Quick pessimistically.
"They are fine," reassured Green Lantern.
"So, are we next?" Di Di Queen asked her new beau, Daniel Jordan.
"I'm sorry, Di Di," answered Nucleus, "You and I are going to be next.
GL and Junjie have to be last in order to power the inter-dimensional
transporter for all three groups."
Sonic Boom let out a sigh of stress. She didn't like the idea that
only two of them could go at a time and she hated the idea of being
separated from Green Lantern. "Are we ready to go then?"
"No, we have to wait an hour," answered Jason Hardwick.
"Huh?" said Junjie Quick.
"If I had more time, maybe I could seek a way to improve this device.
But we need hour intervals between usages," explained the world's
smartest superhero. "I'm sorry."
Pre-Crisis Earth-Two: The JSA Brownstone Headquarters
In attendance at a special meeting of the Justice Society of America
were JSA chairman Hawkman, the Flash, Dr. Mid-Nite, Green Lantern,
Power Girl, Robin, the Huntress, and Dr. Fate.
"I call this special meeting to order," said Carter Hall
authoritatively. "I would like to thank Dr. Mid-Nite for taking
Wildcat's chair as Ted continues to recover from our recent battle
with the Thorn. Would you like to tell us all why you've called the
meeting, Kent?"
Dr. Fate rose from his chair, walked to the window and peered outside.
"There are great forces at work. We are about to receive visitors
from another universe. Lost heroes who will need our help. We need
to work expediently as there is not much time before the crisis that
will follow afterward."
"Who are these visitors, Fate?" asked Jay Garrick. "Members of the
Justice League?"
"Nay, old friend, but friends from the future. The sons and daughters
of the Justice League," answered the hero mysteriously.
Suddenly, Titans of Justice members Power Guy and the Huntress
appeared in the room.
"We're home!" exclaimed Vince Starr as he rushed toward Power Girl and
gave her a bear hug.
"I don't think so, amigo," said the Huntress as she pointed to her own
earth-two counterpart.
"Oh, no!" said Power Guy as he noticed the two Huntresses.
"Do I know you?" asked Power Girl in irritation as elbowed herself out
of Power Guy's grip.
Attorney Harvey Dent's Office (The Universe of Evil)
"I understand that you are a princess from Themyscira," began the
Attorney known as 'Two-Face.'
The wide-eyed princess nodded her head quickly.
"And you are also Wonder Girl?" asked the handsome man dressed in
black.
Again Princess Donna nodded affirmatively without a word.
"You have gotten yourself into a lot of trouble very quickly here in
our country. But I would like to make you an offer. Cooperate with
me and you could have both your freedom and your weapons back," said
the attorney.
The crippled princess didn't know what to think. Lilith warned her
that this 'Two-Face' would pretend to be her friend and then betray
her. "What do I have to do?" she asked cautiously.
"I understand that you had to make a deal with Commissioner Gordon for
the information that led you to the Titans of Justice Arena,"
explained Harvey Dent. "If you can give me conclusive evidence that
the Commissioner has engaged in criminal dealings, you can have your
freedom."
Earth-Two: The JSA Medical Lab
"So, you say that you and your teammates survived an explosion?" asked
Hawkman in summary. "Where are your companions?"
"They are still in the Universe of Evil," answered Helena Wayne.
"Though the next two should be coming soon."
"Why do you suppose they arrived here instead of their own home?"
Robin asked his Justice Society teammates.
"What did you use to power your trip?" asked Jay Garrick.
"The super speed of Junjie Quick and the energy of our Green Lantern,"
answered Power Guy. "Wait a minute…"
"What?" asked the Huntress.
"Sonic Boom told us that Dan charged his ring on the power battery of
an Alan Scott," pointed out the Kryptonian.
"But there is also an Alan Scott in our home," objected the Huntress.
"It might also have to do with the time factor," offered the Flash.
Everyone looked at the scarlet speedster in surprise. "You kids are
from the future, right?"
Power Guy and the Huntress looked at one another. Then the dawning of
realization showed in the eyes of the law student. "That's it, amigo.
We were blasted into the past. That explains the dated look of Chris
Martin's apartment."
[glow=red,2,300]Arooooooooga! Arooooooooga! Arooooooooga![/glow]
"It's the security alert. The brownstone has been breached!" shouted
Hawkman.
The Flash quickly sped away and was back as fast as he left. "It's
Chronos. But what is he doing here? He is an earth-one time
villain."
"Look, I seriously doubt this is a coincidence," said Power Girl.
"You two should take cover."
"No way, 'Cuz!" said Vince.
"Look, I am sure you are a nice guy," said the brash but beautiful
Kryptonian, "but my only cousin is Superman himself Just let us
handle it."
Dr. Mid-Nite whispered to the Huntress of the Titans, "Let the others
handle this. I would like to do some tests on you to try to help you
get home." The Huntress hesitated for just a moment and then went
with the doctor.
Gulls Island Prison (The Universe of Evil)
Princess Donna cupped her head in her palms as she sat once again in
her prison cell. She had cooperated fully with the District Attorney,
but what if he betrayed her as Lilith had warned? She could feel the
glares of the other inmates. They knew something was up. Surely they
would take the frustrations of imprisonment out on her at their first
possible opportunity. The young Amazon thought about her life as she
sat in confinement. She was lonely. She had no true relatives.
Queen Hippolyta treated her worse than a slave. Diana ignored her.
The young princess felt jealous of the Hawk and Dove. Though they
were imprisoned, at least they had one another. She deeply desired to
enjoy both friends and family. "I want the same type of friends that
those aliens in the Titans of Justice are to one another," she
thought.
The crippled lass unfastened her barrette and thought about the Titans
of Justice as she brushed her hair. She remembered how two of them
referred to one another as 'amigo' and 'amiga.' She thought about the
obvious love between the Green Lantern and the blonde. They all
seemed to be friends. She wished she could have friends like them.
She wished she could be good like them.
The JSA Brownstone (Earth-Two)
By running in circular motion the Flash created a vortex, which pulled
Chronos earthward. Depressing a button on his belt, the time villain
disappeared and reappeared behind Power Guy via time pocket. Before
Vince knew it, his head was covered and his muscular arms were tied in
greenish coils.
"Get away from him!" shouted the Green Lantern as a giant green hand
slapped Chronos away.
Hawkman rushed to Power Guy and freed him as Power Girl and Dr. Fate
flew toward Chronos. The villain pulled out a strange weapon, which
repelled both JSAers.
Robin caught Dr. Fate as Power Guy caught Power Girl in his arms.
"Are you okay, 'Cuz?"
Power Girl gave Power Guy a very hard look and flew back toward
Chronos. Chronos again disappeared and then immediately reappeared
next to Power Guy. This time he used a shiny blue device to
temporarily paralyze his prey.
"NO!" exclaimed Dr. Fate as Chronos and Power Guy vanished from sight.
The Nevada Desert (The Universe of Evil)
Hal Jordan had long struggled with what he should do with his life.
His military career was cut short with a dishonorable discharge for
insubordination. He went on to become the greatest test pilot with
Ferris Aircraft but was eventually fired after destroying his fifth
aircraft. He was only having fun with it. His employment as an
insurance salesman was also short lived. His heart just wasn't in the
job. After he was caught embezzling the payments for his customers'
policies he became a trucker. He went on a journey to discover
America with his best friends Oliver and Dinah Queen, but then Dinah
killed Oliver and used Mr. Queen's fortune to build herself an estate.
"I still can't believe they were the Green Arrow and the Black
Widow," thought Hal as he continued to drive. The death of Hal's best
friend set the hot-tempered youth on a course of righteousness. He
tried to help people as best he could, but he was beginning to become
bored with his new life.
As Hal drove down the interstate that would lead him homeward to Coast
City he saw a strange, green radiance in the sky. He parked his truck
along side the road and stepped out of the cab. The light was so
bright that Hal was forced to cover his eyes.
"I am the Green Lantern," said an eerie female voice. "The prophecy
of the dragon stone states that I will offer my light three times:
once for control or sacrifice, a second time for healing and
destruction, and a third for service or corruption. My first master,
Alan Scott, chose control and used my flame to force Dinah Lance to
marry him. My second master, Dinah Queen, used my flame to heal
Daniel Jordan from spider venom and to destroy the chronal elements
that flooded his body. You have been chosen as my new master. Which
will you choose: service or corruption?"
Hal Jordan's expression of shock turned to an evil grin.
The JSA Headquarters (Earth-Two)
Power Guy fell from the clouds a mere ninety seconds after he had
disappeared in Chronos' arms. Green Lantern Alan Scott sped through
the sky towards Power Guy's descending unconscious form. Suddenly, a
pair of huge emerald hands caught the falling hero. While everyone's
attention was on the emerald gladiator, Chronos appeared behind the
Huntress and covered her mouth before she could shout. The time
villain pulled out a golden device and prepared to test the daughter
of Batman and Catwoman for chronal elements.
"AHHHHHHHHGHH!" shouted Chronos as the Huntress skillfully threw him
to the ground using her judo skills. The Flash sped towards Chronos
and subdued him quickly. The green and yellow clad villain stood
dumbfounded in the scarlet speedster's grasp. "I…I don't understand," said Chronos. "She's clean. What happened?"
"Helena, are you alright?" asked Robin in concern.
"Just say the word, amiga," said Power Girl. "If he's hurt you I will
pummel him!"
A spark of realization came across Chronos' face. "I got the wrong
one! Where are you idiots hiding the other Huntress? The one who
just arrived from the Universe of Evil?"
The members of the Justice Society looked at one another in surprise.
One moment later a giant sized ankh appeared behind Dr. Fate and the
heroic mage disappeared though its doorway.
The JSA Medi-Lab (Earth-Two)
Dr. Charles Mc. Nider was always efficient and thorough when
conducting tests. His years of training and experience had honed his
skills as both a doctor and hero.
"So, Miss Huntress, you say that you and your friends were in some
type of explosion?" asked the doctor as he compared figures on several
charts.
"Yes," answered Helena Wayne. "We were investigating a bomb threat in
S.T.A.R. Labs Tower. We found two large bombs and one huge bomb.
Nucleus, one of our teammates, was concerned about the dangerous
chronal experiments he saw there."
"Your teammate was right to be concerned," said Dr. Mid-Nite gravely.
"All of my tests point to one conclusion. Some type of chronal
element that I have never heard of before has contaminated you.
The dark knight daughter gasped and her eyes widened, but before she
could say another word a brilliant light in the form of an ankh
appeared in the room. Stepping through the passageway of the ankh,
Dr. Fate said, "Huntress, I fear your life may be in danger."
"Kent!" shouted Dr. Mid-Nite. "Look at these charts. The JSA
medi-lab not have the technology to rid our guest from a foreign
chronal contamination. Do you think there is anything you can do?'
The Huntress grew less comfortable with every passing moment as the
two JSAers studied charts and looked at one another.
"I think I may be able to help, but not without great risk," said Dr.
Fate. "The choice is yours, Helena Wayne, but decide quickly and
wisely, for I fear your stalker is at hand."
Suddenly Chronos appeared behind the Huntress and reached to grab her.
Whirling about, the masked beauty kicked the time villain with great
force.
BAM! The Huntress turned her attention to the Justice Society
doctors as Chronos' body slammed against the wall.
"Do it!" answered the Huntress.
"Brace yourself, my young friend," said Dr. Fate as he raised his
hands in the air.
Chronos quickly arose, but was again slammed into the wall by a
scarlet white blur. The Huntress noticed both the Flash and Power
Girl out of the corner of her eye.
"Are you ready?" asked Dr. Fate.
The Huntress nodded her head and almost immediately found herself
surrounded by a strange magenta colored glow. After a few moments a
strange violet colored liquid oozed from her skin and floated into the
air. The masked law student shuddered to think that such a strange
element had invaded her body.
"Power Girl, can you destroy that stuff?" asked the Flash. "I don't
know how long we are going to be able to contain this man!"
"No! That is mine!" screamed Chronos.
The maid from Krypton squinted ever so slightly and the purple liquid
evaporated into nothingness.
"NOOOOOOO!" yelled the time villain. "I was so close!" He then
brought one of his gauntlets up to his face, and depressed a button
with his chin. The Huntress, Power Girl, the Flash, Dr. Fate, and Dr.
Mid-Nite looked at one another in concern as the time villain
vanished.
The Hall of Injustice (Universe of Evil)
"Well, it looks like its our turn to go home," said Pastor Daniel
Jordan to his scarlet clad teammate.
"I can't wait to get back home," said Junjie Quick.
"What is the first thing you are going to do when we are back?" asked
Green Lantern.
"I…this has been kind of hard on all of us, Dan" began the
Singaporean
speedster. "Please don't tell the others yet, but I am thinking about
quitting the team and concentrating on college."
The long pause caused Junjie to grow uncomfortable as the two heroes
looked at one another.
"What?" said Junjie. "Say something already."
"I was kind of thinking about stepping down from leadership," said the
emerald gladiator.
"Dan, this isn't your fault, you know," said the fastest man alive.
"No, Junjie, it is completely my fault," insisted Daniel. "I never
should have accepted leadership of the Titans East. I am to busy and
preoccupied with school, the ministry, with both Sargona and Di Di,
and with my health…and look where it got us."
"Dan," said Junjie seriously. "Its not your fault. This would have
happened no matter who –"
BOOM! Both heroes were knocked to the ground from the force of the
explosion. Both reacted simultaneously.
Junjie Quick shouted, "The transporter is destroyed!" as Green Lantern
looked up and exclaimed in shock, "DAD!?!"
