I decided I'll plug some small press and self published stuff here.

Recently picked up by Fantagraphics, but he sells the self published floppies on his website. A quick browse of his blog will give you a pretty good idea of what you're getting. Something of a modern underground that lampoons horror comics/movies mostly, but sometimes parodies action or fantasy comics/movies. Art is fantastic, comic is incredibly offensive. Not a whole lot of plot going on but I enjoy them. Typical of most self published comics, it's expensive to keep up with. Ten bucks per ashcan sized issue. The softcover collection is a decent value if you'd prefer to go that route.
The Sound Of Drowning

This one is an interesting comic. Mostly rotoscope or photoshopped photography, hard to tell, but it basically looks like screenshots and clip art for the bulk of the comic, but the illustrated parts are illustrated well. It comes together nicely. Anthology style but I think it's a single contributor. Surreal almost new wave art comic short stories that end in a punch line I don't always get, but I like it. Cost plus shipping from England is not much at all. It's been quite a while since the last installment though.
Ralph Snart Adventures

He's digital only now, and it's been a while since a new issue was released, but he has more planned after he gets all his old stuff online. If you haven't read it yet, it's worth checking out. In the early 90's it was a hit. It's one of those "marketed at kids but not really suitable for kids if parents looked in it" comics featuring a boozed out loser who suffers from alcohol induced brain damage as he repeatedly saves the world.
Song Of Songs The Manga Series

A hip hop manga out of Canada. Pretty fun stuff, pretty good production values, and a fantastic price considering it's small press. The series has it's ups and downs, and again, been a while since the last installment, but he recently changed format from floppy to thicker manga so I assume that's the holdup. Volume one is worth checking out if you like hip hop and manga.

This one was kind of the who's who of 80's small press. Still a lot of contributions by the same guys from the past. It's a decent quality anthology that could introduce you to some self publish creators you'll like. The issues are typically themed now.
The Creeps Magazine

A recently discovered homage to Warren Publishing. Quality varies a little, but it definitely contains material on par with classic Creepy and Eerie comics, which is good company to be in.
Bloke's Terrible Tomb Of Terror

Another Warren homage, comparable in quality. This one is longer running and has it's first TPB available on Amazon.
Eeek!
www.asylumpress.com/titles/eeek
This one started off as a self published Australian comic, another Warren style homage, with FANTASTIC artwork that would have been right at home at Warren. I followed it for it's first several issues, then Asylum picked it up and put out a TPB. After that I guess it went strictly digital, can't even find the creators website anymore. But I plan on catching up in digital format. Hopefully a second trade comes out. Probably wishful thinking that the series continues in little volumes like it started as. But definitely worth a look.
That's all I have at the moment, I will probably think up a few more, and believe it or not there's more Warren homages coming up that I'm keeping an eye on.
