Roll Call: Dark Arrow, Huntress, Knightvision, Power Guy, & Sonic Boom with special guests-stars Bat-Girl and Crimson Squire
The outskirts of Gotham City near Wayne Manor...
An angry man makes his way up a large hill. It’s taken him almost 6 hours to walk as far as he has but time has no meaning to him. At least not tonight. Not after the visit he received where he was given special gifts beyond his imagination. Finally, he has everything he needs to fulfill his one desire.
“KILL BRUCE WAYNE!” mumbles the man. “That wretched filth had me imprisoned for over a decade but now, I’m finally free! I’ll bet he has no idea. He’s probably having a quiet dinner with his family right now. I hear he has a daughter. I’ll bet he thinks his world is just perfect right now. He doesn’t suspect that everything is going to go up in flames!”

A mile away at Wayne Manor...
“Wow! Helena, this is quite a party,” remarked Di Di Queen as she and her brother entered the room. Di Di was wearing a sleek forest green ball-gown with her hair in loose spiral curls while her brother was fitted into an expensive tuxedo with his hair slicked back with a light coating of spray-gel. Her close friend Helena Wayne was waiting with open arms for her. It was Helena’s twenty-fifth birthday party and the young daughter of Bruce and Selena Wayne couldn’t be enjoying her life more.
Helena and Di Di soon embraced.
“Thanks for coming Di Di.......you too, Rob,” Helena smiled warmly.
“How could we miss your party?” Robert said, smiling back. “You’re practically family to us.”
“Here! We brought you a gift!” Di Di said as she handed Helena a perfectly wrapped package.
“Could you do me a favor and set it on the table with the others? Brendon, Brenda, and Bette just walked in and I have to go say hello. Why don’t you come join us when you’re done?” suggested the woman otherwise known as the Huntress.
“I’d........uh, love to but I think I need to use the bathroom,” Robert Queen said, lying through his teeth.
“You are so childish,” spat Di Di as she and Robert walked to the gift-table. “When are you going to get over this grudge you have with Brendon? I thought when you made peace with Dan, you were turning over a new leaf.”
“That’s different,” countered the man otherwise known as Dark Arrow. “Dan and I have been friends since as far back as I can remember. Brendon has been a jackass as far back as I can remember.”
“Ugh.........I swear, you two are worse than dad was with Hawkman,” sighed the current bearer of the Black Canary name.
Several yards away Helena had made her way over to the newly arrived trio.
“Brendon! Brenda! Bette!” greeted Helena as she began giving each of the trio a hug.
“Your dad certainly went all out, Hel,” commented Brenda aka Crimson Squire.
“Well, I know that he felt bad that he and mom had to go out of the country and miss my birthday so they tried to make up for it by throwing me this party,” Helena smiled humbly. “I told him he didn’t have to do all of this but we all know how stubborn he can be.”
“Excuse me Mistress Helena,” interrupted Alfred Pennyworth.
Helena turned towards the ages old butler of her family, “You never need an excuse, Alfred...” she began until she saw who her butler was escorting.
“I present Master Vince to you,” Alfred said while bowing slightly.
Helena instantly wrapped her arms around the man otherwise known as Power Guy. “What took you so long?”
“I’m sorry. I got tied up at work,” revealed the tall, built man. “We have new software launch tomorrow and I had to make sure all of the T’s were crossed and the I’s were dotted.” Vince and Helena looked deep into each other’s eyes for a moment,, both quite appreciative of the close friendship they had formed. After a few seconds, Vince finally broke the silence with, “Here! This is for you!” he said, presenting his best friend with a small box.
“Oh, I cannot wait to open this!” admitted the Dark Knight’s daughter. “But it will have to wait until after the cake...”
“Of course,” smiled the leader of Titans East. “You’ve got quite a crowd here,” Vince said, surveying the room.
“He’s right, besides your parents and mine, all of our relatives and close friends are here,” added Brendon Grayson. “Our dads certainly have the worst timing when it comes to planning trips, don’t they?”
“Well, they’re both very committed to taking care of Wayne Industries,” replied the woman otherwise known as the Huntress.
“Did you hear from Dick or any of the other JSA members today?” Brendon asked.
“Yes, I’m meeting a few of them for brunch tomorrow morning,” answered Helena.
Outside the luxurious mansion, the vowed enemy of Bruce Wayne had finally made his way to his destination. Nothing but thoughts of anger and revenge raced through his mind.
“It’s all because of you Wayne that I lost everything,” the man said to himself. “It’s because of you I spent years rotting away in prison. It’s because of you that I have no family, no friends, no job..........it’s all your fault! But now, I’m going to make you pay...............pay dearly for what you’ve done!” he shouted as he raised his fists above his head and smashed a large window on the patio.
CRASH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Glass sprayed all over the room as party-goers looked on in horror as the revenge-bent man standing before them. The man looked rough and haggard. Time had not been kind to this man as aging lines and sunspots adorned much of his skin. The most shocking thing about this man though was that he appeared to be on fire though his clothes were not burning. The flames whisked around him as though they belonged to him and sure enough, they did!
Many of the ordinary civilians at the party went into a state of hysteria and began running for their lives.
“WHERE’S WAYNE?!?!?!?!” screamed the man.
Helena was stopped dead in her tracks as she looked upon the man standing about thirty feet in front of her. Her close friends had never seen her look so serious in her life.
Di Di Queen made her way over to Helena amidst the commotion, “Helena, who is this freak?” she asked, assuming he was one of the Batman’s rogues gallery who had figured out the caped crusader’s secret identity. “Is this one of your dad’s old sparring partners?”
“Yes, but not from his night job,” Helena answered cooly. She then took a deep breath as several thoughts raced through her mind. “How could this be happening? He should be dead. I saw him die with my own eyes!”
“Come out from your hiding spot and face me coward!!!!” the man shouted in a wild rage as he spewed out flames that incinerated everything they touched.
Suddenly, Power Guy, Dark Arrow, Knightvision, the Crimson Squire, and Bat-Girl burst into the room. Upon the man breaking into the mansion, several of the Titans of Justice made a hasty exit from the party to done their costumes in order to better handle the situation.
“Superheroes!” growled the man, obviously upset at the Titans’ arrival “I didn’t come to fight with you but I will if you keep me from Wayne!’
“You’re wasting your time,” Helena stated, firmly. “My father’s not here and by the time he gets back, you’ll be long gone!” she said, racing towards the man in her civilian guise. She quickly grabbed wood-stirrer from the fireplace and whacked the man in the head with it. “Get out, d**n you! You’re not getting anywhere near my father!”
“Aaackkkkkk.....” the man mumbled in pain. He quickly shoot off the blow he had just received and grabbed the stirrer. It quickly became so hot that Helena Wayne could no longer hold it and soon it turned to ashes within the man’s grip.
“Excuse us, Ms. Wayne. We’ve got this,” Knightvision said as he swung by on a Bat-line, his left boot crashing into the man’s face, knocking him over.
Before the man could get up, Dark Arrow hit him head-on with a fire-extinguisher arrow, hoping to douse the man’s flames. After about thirty seconds, it was clear the arrow was having no effect.
The man took to his feet but not before being smothered with smoke thanks to several gas-bombs that the Crimson Squire and Bat-Girl had dropped while swinging through the air. Sadly, as potent was the gas was, it also had no effect.
Dark Arrow soon turned towards Power Guy, “Ok big guy, You gave us our chance. He’s all yours.”
Before anyone could take their next breath, Power Guy was on top of the man like a wild dog. His powerful fists struck the man several times knocking him around like a rag doll. While the blows obviously hurt the man, they had no long-term effect as the man kept getting up, continuing his battle with the Kryptonian powerhouse.
“Power Guy is holding his own but not making much head-way,” observed Knightvision.
“Maybe we should call in the rest of the team?” suggested the Crimson Squire.
“Let me take a crack at him first”! ordered Sonic Boom as she came springing into the room. A well-timed judo-kick from the blonde bombshell struck the man in the head, causing him to stagger backwards. Before the man could steady himself, she let loose her signature Canary Cry:
SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wham! The sonic attack hit the man like a ton of bricks forcing him to scream in agony. For the moment, man seemed paralyzed but after a few moments, he began pressing on, setting much of the east wing of the mansion on fire. Even with all of the power at their disposal, the Titans of Justice were failing to stop the strange man before them.
Power Guy turned to his best friend who was still wearing her civilian clothes and whispered, “Is that.....”
“Yes.....” Helena answered, quite obviously in a state of slight panic. “I don’t know how or why but yes, that’s Bill Jensen....”
Suddenly, the man went into a berserker rage and his flames erupted like a volcano, spewing all over the place. The force from his eruption knocked all of the Titans present unconscious. He slowly made his way over to Helena Wayne and picked her up. He controlled his flames so that they would not burn the raven-haired professional, at least not yet. He then looked down at his captive and thought, “Your daddy better show his face soon or you’ll be one of the few people on earth who are ‘lucky’ enough to die on the same day they were born!”
