Female versions of existing male characters almost always turn me off. I can't think of a single one that I've ever liked as a character. She-Hulk, Ms./Captain Marvel, Spider-woman, ... forget it.

How about the opposites like... um... Captain Wonder and Power Boy? I probably wouldn't like them either, but can't think of any examples off the top of my head. Have there ever been any? I've seen Wonder Man called the male Wonder Woman, but he's never struck me that way. Not that I like the character much. It just occurred to me that they should start calling the Hulk the "He-Hulk" in the interests of equal treatment for the genders.

This is Power Boy: But just like Captain Wonder... ... he turned out to be a bad guy.

More stalkery than evil if I remember Power Boy correctly, and have some respect for the dead by mind controlled Infinity Man.

I'll probably pick up the collected edition. I'm normally not a big fan of superhero death stories, but I like Charles Soule's work. And although I'm not nearly as into Wolverine as I was when I was 13, there's a part of me that still has some affection for him.

Got my September box today... LOTS of stuff I was looking forward too: Usagi:Senso #2 - Moving a bit slow, but loving it so far... I think the pacing is just annoying me because I've never read a current Usagi arc, so I'm used to having it in trade/ Star Mage #6 - A bit of a cop out ending to a well developed beginning, I think the 1st 5 issues could easily have been the set up for a long term story that could have climax many issues down the road, instead of ending it abruptly. Too bad, as it had the potential to be a nice all ages book. The next series (if it happens) doesn't look promising by the teasers. Legenderry #7 - Not a good day for me and story endings...We get a big battle with all the players as promised, but the bad guys are absent.. it's just the good guys mowing down cannon fodder. Then it ends... mid-war, with no hint of what happens. Judging by the fact that Bill Willingham is 'retiring' and the nature of the project, it's probably done, and really bad. Super disappointing. Fables #143? -- Wow, I figured not every main character would make it to the end, but I did see that coming. I'm not really holding a whole lot of hope for the big ending, but the small vignettes of how the stories of many of the minor characters end have been pretty satisfying, so that's good. I just don't think having the big slam bang Rose vs. Snow ending should be mixed in with the current feral Bigby/ Mrs. Spratt as Mrs. Dark thing... one at a time would have been far more effective and satisfying, IMO, unless they're going to tie in far more than they appear to now. Star Trek: The Q Gambit #3 -- Still really enjoying this.. I'm a sucker for alternate universes, and this is a good one. It's starting to look like a must read for any DS9 fans. Lots more to read.. .just didn't want to shoot my load all tonight

I may pick up the trade if the reviews are good, but I haven't liked the whole 'no healing factor' thing and how it's being written at all (other than the Ms. Marvel appearance), so no reason to think I'd enjoy this. Love the new profile pick btw Jez.. very impressive!
