"Validator?" Is his tagline "I'm gonna punch your ticket"? Only if you purchase $10 worth of memorabilia.

"Validator?" Is his tagline "I'm gonna punch your ticket"? I think Validator defeats his enemies by giving them positive reinforcement until their self-esteem issues are resolved. >>>> - Doctor Doom, you really should let it go. Dr. Richards' achievements in no way diminish your own; in fact, considering that he came from a very wealthy background while you were an orphan who had to struggle all the way, I think anyone would agree that you're the most meritorious man. - Why... that's true! All these years I was blinded by a jealousy that had no basis in reality. Thank you, Validator! I am now going to let bygones be bygones and cure cancer instead of trying to kill Richards. >>>> You know, it could just work!

Newish. Read the first Lazarus trade. Lark's art is great as usual. I'm not in love with the story, but it's okay. Worth reading the second trade when it comes out.

I still dig nu52, but I'm buying lots of indy sale stuff. More bang for my buck.

I was busy waiting for your complaints about something that hasn't even happened yet and likely won't. This is a non-continuity anthology title. Did you see many complaints about, say, Marvel's Strange Tales minis? Any? We're all old men who want the kids off our yards here. But you are putting in the extra time sometimes. Yeah, on CBR I did actually see someone comment "Why do they hire all these crappy artists for this title?" That thread is hilarious.

More than the story, I'm intrigued by the world that they are setting up -- if only because I find the idea of worldwide economic collapse and the subsequent rise of mega-corporations to replace governments to be the most plausible of the "singularity"-type events that usually drive dystopian future stories. I think I like reading the fictional histories they insert in the back pages more than the story itself.

Agreed.
I've got to read my Lazarus.
Glad to see the Legion in JLU and really looking forward to more New Gods in the nu52 with the upcoming Godhead storyline running throughout the GL titles.

I still dig nu52, but I'm buying lots of indy sale stuff. More bang for my buck. I want to like new52, but Forever Evil might have killed it for me. I might check out the weekies once that hit trades. I'll check out Grayson and The Titans, but that may be it now.

I found it to be alot like the Marvel 2099 universe without the superheroes.... not bad, but not great either. I'll get the 2nd trade assuming it's a reasonable price, but I'm still on the fence.

Swamp Thing has been great under Soule, DeMatteis' Phantom Stranger, Azz/Chaing Wonder Woman... The core titles aren't that great, but that's been the case for quite some time. Basically, it's just like DC before the revamp, when there was Xombi, REBELS, Doom Patrol, Hine's Azrael, Secret Six doing great things but selling like crap.

Won't give away spoilers, but I'll just say that it'll be interesting to see whether the characters from the Lift plot interact more substantially with Forever and give her more reason to question her family due to being exposed to how the serfs live.

As pharozonk noted in the Meanwhile thread, there is going to be a new Marvel comic featuring a female Thor: There is also going to be another new book called The Unworthy Thor, featuring the "old" Thor...now sporting his axe Jarnbjorn: Interesting to see how this all plays out.
