From a purely aesthetic standpoint I'd prefer it was Jaime, but no doubt it'll be a damn fine story either way.

I know I've said it before, but I HATE the way Marvel refused to have continuity these days. I was reading last months X-Books, and who do I see? Vindicator. You know, the one that was killed in Regina during Hickman's Avengers? No mention of it... she calls Wolverine to help her deal with something, while Regina, is , you know, a giant event zone with killer plants eating everyone. And not of this nonsense about 'maybe it happens before'.. this is BEFORE Infinity even. Then there's Puck, who, not too long ago, was running around in California with X-Force and lusting after Psylocke... he's show in a log cabin in Canada with Talisman. (At least that's plausible...) Somehow, no editor there ever seems to keep track of Alpha Flight. It seems to happen all the time with them. The ending of Lobdell's attempted humor AF was so all over the place. (Shouldn't Vindicator also be a brainwashed murderer still as of Pak/van Lente/Eaglesham's AF run?)

I can't help but suspect that it's become some kind of inside joke amongst Marvel's writer and editors: "How many times/ways can we kill/screw with Alpha Flight?". If it's true, at least Alpha Flight fans get to read about them on a semi-regular basis, although knowing it likely won't end well.
They've become the Kenny of the Marvel Universe: "They've killed Alpha Flight. You bastards!"

While I was in the store I took a glance at the current Shang-Chi mini, Deadly Hands of Kung Fu. The cartoonish style of artwork in this one didn't appeal to me, so any lingering curiosity I might have been feeling about it has more or less disappeared. Wait, wait, wait... It's only a mini? They killed a major supporting character for the sake of a bloody mini?I swear, when I become world dictator, that will be unlawful. You wanna kill a character? Then create a character.

Small week for me and surprisingly Marvel-centric. No Dark Horse, Image or IDW for me this week.
Marvel Elektra 4 Original Sin 6 Savage Hulk 2 Silver Surfer 4
if we ordered it in, I'll pick up a copy of Life with Archie 36 and Shadow #0 as well.

Well I've been busy...have 22 copies of Rat Queens #7 Virgin Variant in the can...of which 12 are reserved for some of the local boozing rat-fans in our den.

This is a non-continuity anthology title. Did you see many complaints about, say, Marvel's Strange Tales minis? Any? We're all old men who want the kids off our yards here. But you are putting in the extra time sometimes.

We're all old men who want the kids off our yards here. As I get older, myself, the more I welcome other people, of all ages, playing in my yard.

Yeah, on CBR I did actually see someone comment "Why do they hire all these crappy artists for this title?"

Marvel's lineup is so good to me at the moment that any lack of continuity doesn't bother me at all. Okay, it rarely ever bothers me. I know, why am I even still responding... If you're referring to the storyline in Avengers that I'm thinking off, that was Validator, not Vindicator. Different character.

"Validator?"
Is his tagline "I'm gonna punch your ticket"?

I didn't read the last Alphia Fight series. Rather than dead, Heather actually should be gone from Canada with her daughter (whom there's no mention of). That's actually slightly better .

"Validator?" Is his tagline "I'm gonna punch your ticket"? I think Validator defeats his enemies by giving them positive reinforcement until their self-esteem issues are resolved.
