The Hall of Justice…
One year after the Titans of Justice were disbanded by President Waller, a triple priority alert was send out summoning everyone and anyone who had ever been a member of the Titans of Justice, to the Hall of Justice.
From within Metropolis came Power Guy, Supergirl, Power Lad, Black Vulcan II, and Sargona. From nearby Gotham City came Nightvision, the Huntress, Blackbird, and Bat-Girl. An invisible aircraft streaked through the sky high over the Bermuda Triangle headed towards the United States carrying aboard Wonder Man, Jem, and the young visitor from the Universe of Evil, Wonder Girl. A emerald beacon shot forth from Coast City heralding the arrival of Green Lantern and Air Wave The twin cities known as Central and Keystone waved goodbye to the Flash and Elongated Lad as they left abruptly to answer the call they had not received for so long. Opal City also winessed it’s greatest defenders depart as Starman, Gold Bug, and Phantom Lady took to the skies headed towards Metropolis. The Arrowplane was seen leaving the airport in Star City with Dark Arrow and Sonic Boom, The Black Canary within it’s cockpit. As Stellar, Sherry Girl of Two Thousand Gimmicks, and Teen Marvel departed Fawcett City, they wondered what type of peril could cause someone to send out the priority alert despite President Waller’s decree that all superheroics cease to take place within the United States. Stellar also wondered how Black Adam and Isis were doing as the pointy-eared, somewhat dictator from Khandaq was still locked in chains within the Hall of Justice after his recent behavior was brought to an end. Others had intense thoughts on their mind as well such as Hawkgirl who was thinking fondly about Whirlpool as she and Hawk Warrior left St. Roch. Whirlpool in turn couldn’t wait to see his feathered beauty once again. In fact he was so distracted that his sister Tula aka Aqualass became quite annoyed with him when he ignored her as she was speaking to him. Other heroes ventured forth from various parts of the globe, other planets, and eerie dimensions such as Nucleus, Totem, Powerstorm, Black Orchid, Argos, Sister Sayrah, Mir. Miracle III, Illumina, Infierna Verde, Ice Warrior, The Stranger, The White Wraith, Dr. Fate, the Vigilante, and the Wonder Twins. Within thirty minutes, the Hall of Justice was full of more heroes that it had seen in several years. As the crowd chattered about what could possibly be going on for such an alert to be sent out, one member finally spoke up.
“Hey PeeGee! Tell us why you called us here already!” grumbled Ice Warrior
“It wasn’t me,” revealed the Kryptonian powerhouse.
“Nightvision?” Sargona presumed looking at the modern-age Dark Knight.
“I didn’t send out the call….” Denied the man otherwise known as Brendon Grayson.
“Wonder Man?” Nucleus guessed turning to the male Amazon.
“It wasn’t me either. You guys are lucky that Jerrica and I even responded with everything we have going on,” explained the price of Themyscira. “I hate to sound rude but our lives have completely changed since we saw most of you last.”
“Well if you guys didn’t send out the call, then who did?” asked Starman.
The crowd remained quiet for several minutes as they waited for the revelation that never came. Finally Power Guy spoke up, “It looks like whoever sent out the alert isn’t here yet so to pass time, let’s all gather around the meeting table and share what we’ve done with our lives for the last year….”
Wonder Man spoke up before anyone else. “Just so everyone doesn’t think I was being a total jackass before, I’m going to explain what Jerrica and I have been through since we all took down the Syndicate of Terror together.”
“Wait a minute…..” interrupted Sargona. “Speaking of Jerrica, where did my best friend go?”
Before Wonder Man could reply, Jem entered the hall holding a baby carrier. She smiled at the assembled members.
“OHHHHH!!!! There's the baby!" Hawkgirl gasped.
“He...or she is so cuuuute!!!” The Flash said, racing to Jerrica Trevor’s side.
Wonder Man smiled. He walked over to his wife and kissed her on the cheek. He lifted the tiny baby, wrapped in a star spangled blanket. “Everyone, meet my son. Meet Thomas Steven Trevor.”
All of the team crowded around the new parents trying to see the baby.
“You know, I really didn't hear much about the pregnancy after the team disbanded. We all fell out of touch." Sonic Boom said as she stoked the baby’s head.
Power Guy noticed that Jerrica wasn’t in uniform.
“It’s a long story.” Jerrica began.
Wonder Man added, “This boy…he has changed everything for us. We nearly lost him.”
“What happened?” Whirlpool asked.
“After the team disbanded, I focused on becoming a mother. My sister took over the record company so I could stay home. We were all so happy.” Jerrica said, taking Wonder Man’s hand.
“We flew to Paradise Island to tell my parents the news. My mother and father were very excited as were all the Amazons.” Wonder Man said.
“Well, almost all of the Amazons.” Jerrica replied drawing the baby close to her.
“You see, when I was born there was a bit of an uproar. I am next in line for the throne of Paradise Island, which has only had two rulers…my grandmother and my mother.” Wonder Man explained. “Some of them didn’t like the idea of another male heir”.
“The Amazons…they wouldn’t threaten a baby? Would they?” gasped the Huntress.
“I didn’t think they would, but there was a group of rogue Amazons. Purists…” Wonder Man went on as he picked up his son.
Jerrica continued “As my due date approached, Queen Diana insisted the baby be born on Paradise Island. I thought why not, the baby would get the best care especially since he or she would be Wonder Woman’s grandchild.”
“We didn’t find out the sex of the baby…we wanted to be surprised.” Wonder Mad added.
“The delivery was perfect….my sister Kimber was there…Scott was the best labor coach…” Jerrica said as her eyes started to tear up.
“When I saw I had a son….it was the happiest moment of my life—except for our wedding day.” Wonder Man said, looking at his wife. “I had no idea that those Amazons would attack us…they made a pact with Ares that if we had a son they would take him….give him to Ares. Ares would raise him to hate us, to destroy Paradise Island. You see, those traitors didn’t like the idea of me taking the throne when it was my time or the fact the next heir was male. They stormed the island hospital….I….” Scott stopped.
“It’s ok, baby.” Jerrica said taking his hand. “Wonder Woman and Donna Troy launched a counter attack. Thank God Thomas was unharmed when they found him.”
“Ares was dealt with by Zeus—at my grandmother’s insistence—and those women….those traitors….” Scott stopped.
“Those women who took my son were dealt with by Wonder Woman.” Jerrica said, with an icy tone to her voice. Even Nightvision was a bit startled by the weight of her words.
“Well, now that you guys are back you have all of us to protect and babysit the kid! It’ll be awesome!” Starman added.
Wonder Man smiled. “As much as we would like that, we aren’t coming back to the team.”
“What? Wonder Man, we could really use your power and leadership experience—and Jem, your powers have been invaluable time and time again.” Power Guy exclaimed.
“True, but being a parent…having this tiny little boy depending on us to keep him safe changes things. If something happened to Scott or I….I can’t be that selfish.”
“Sorry guys, but Jerrica and I are both retired. Our son is our number one priority. But, I don’t want to leave you guys high and dry. I want you to consider someone to be my replacement.” Wonder Man said, flashing his impossibly white teeth.
Wonder Girl perked up at hearing this. She gripped Totem’s hand. “Great Hera…he’s going to select me to take his place!”
“Good luck, girl!” Totem whispered.
“Scott, this is very unusual. We should discuss this…” Power Guy said. “Usually, we let the entire senior leadership vote on new members…”
“Just hear me out. Many of you already know her and she is a tried and true hero. I want you all to welcome her onto the team.”
Wonder Girl straightened her skirt as she started to stand.
“I want you all to welcome Donna Troy, former Wonder Girl and one of the best Teen Titans ever….and the best aunt a guy could ever ask for.”
Donna Troy entered the hall smiling at everyone.
Totem noticed Wonder Girl’s eyes filling with tears. She left her chair and slipped out unnoticed by the others.
“Hello everyone. It would be an honor to serve in my nephew’s place. Having a new little nephew wants me to make this world even safer, so if you’ll have me I promise to give you all my best.”
Everyone seemed to be in awe of the legendary Donna Troy.
“Of course, Donna. Welcome back to the team.” Power Guy extended his hand to her. “We haven’t forgotten your time as leader of the Titans of Earth 1 when the original multiverse was brought back.”
Scott and Jerrica said their goodbyes. Donna hugged Scott. He whispered in her ear, “I knew they would accept you. Lilith told me, ha-ha!!” Wonder Man then turned his attention to the team as he and Jerrica said their goodbyes.
“Who’s next” questioned Power Guy as he scanned the room for the next speaker.
“I’ll go,” replied Sonic Boom as she turned to the Huntress. “You don’t mind if I tell the story do you, Huntress?”
“Not at all, Canary,” the confirmed the daughter of the Dark Knight as she cracked her knuckles. Helena Wayne had defied Amanda Waller’s decree for the most part and had stayed active, although within the shadows for the most part during the last year.
“Here’s what the Birds of Prey did in the last year,” began Sonic Boom.”

Gotham City: The Underground Sewer System
A gruesome figure with jaundiced skin slithered with ease through the “waters” in the Gotham City sewer. His lips widened to reveal rotting teeth as he grinned at the continued delight of his successful infant kidnapping racket. “The mayor's son will surely bring me millions,” he thought as he unbundled the sleeping child in the villain's scrawny arms.
“Arrrgh!” he screamed as a pain like he had never known before shot through his arm. “HUNTRESSSSSS!!!!” he shouted as he dropped the mayor's newborn son and began removing the dart from his shoulder. “I know its you, you witch!”
“Then you probably also know that this is the end of the line for you, Earthworm,” replied the Harvard Law School graduate with her crossbow pointed directly at her prey.
“Not if you want to save the mayor's precious little child,” taunted her yellow-skinned adversary.
“That's what you think,” said Nucleus triumphantly as he grew from miniature size to the form of a well-developed five-foot-eight-inch man.”
Noticing that the Huntress' Titans-of-Justice ally cradled the mayor's son firmly in his arms, the Earthworm looked directly into the Huntress' steel-colored eyes. His grin shot shivers up-and-down Helena Wayne's spine. With a wink at the lovely vigilante, the yellowish fiend activated a device located in his molar by depressing it with his tongue and vanished from sight.
The Huntress gazed at Nucleus with expectancy as the world's smartest super-hero activated his Hall-of-Justice communicator. “Did you get that, Di Di?”
“Affirmative,” came the reply in an attractive female voice. “Tell the Huntress to stand by for teleportation.”
“Will do, Di Di,” said Jason Hardwick with a smile of satisfaction.
“Thank you for your help, Jason,” said Helena Wayne.
“Anytime,” said the mighty-mite cheerily, “The ToJ may be disbanded, but I am always available to help take down a bad guy. It's a good thing we still have access to the teleporters and communicators. I'll return this baby boy to his parents. You go take down the Earthworm.”
The Huntress gave Nucleus a 'thumbs-up' just as Sonic Boom transported her to the Titans of Justice Watchtower. “Was I right, Di Di?” inquired the Darkknight Daughter, “Did Earthworm try to escape to Earth-Two?”
“You were dead-on, Huntress,” replied her Birds of Prey partner. “I have the exact coordinates. I think we got him this time. Would you like me to teleport you there now?”
“Absolutely!” exclaimed the daughter of the Catwoman with glee. She had been hunting the Earthworm for nearly a year-and-a-half. It had only recently dawned on her that the reason why the Earthworm had eluded her so long was that his headquarters was not in the Gotham City of Earth-One, but in that of Earth-Two. She silently hoped that her little surprise for the Earthworm had worked. No sooner had she finished her thought than she found herself on Earth-Two gazing at the exact scene she had hoped to see.
“Great work, Huntress!” said the Earth-Two Robin as he stood triumphantly by the Earthworm who was hopelessly entrapped in a dozen bat-nets. “Batwoman sent over the coordinates in just enough time for me to be waiting for 'Yellow-Worm' here.
“Let me out of here, you filthy hypocrites!” demanded the Earthworm.
“I don't think so,” replied the Huntress, “At least not until you are delivered to Gotham City Court where you will get a fair trial for infant kidnapping!”
“Huntress, before you go could you get a message to Batwoman for me?” asked Dick Grayson. Helena looked at him strangely and then he corrected himself, “...I mean Sonic Boom”
“...sure,” replied the Huntress in curiosity.
“Is she still seeing...?,” began the distinguished hero.
“GL?” asked Huntress, “No, they went their separate ways after the Titans disbanded, but it is obvious that she is still waiting for him.”
“Also, now that the Titans of Justice has disbanded, the JSU was wondering when she was planning on returning?” asked the sole-surviving member of the former Flying Graysons.
“Sonic Boom is very committed and quite busy as my partner in the Birds of Prey,” stated the Huntress protectively. “I'll get the message to her as soon as I get this bum to prison. Thanks for helping me get him. I owe you one.”
“Anytime! Although next time I hope the bad guy isn't so ugly and smelly,” he answered with a chuckle.
“You will regret this!” threatened the Earthworm.
“On the contrary,” answered the Huntress, “We shall CELEBRATE this,” as she prepared for transport to the Titans of Justice Watchtower.

Back at the Hall of Justice(present day)…
“I’m glad to hear that you finally nabbed the Earthworm, Huntress,” complimented Nightvision. “He’s been on the loose for far too long.”
“Agreed,” commented Power Guy. “Now who’s next?”
“ME!” shouted a voice unfamiliar to the majority of the crowd of heroes.
The voice was none other than that of the grandson of Sgt. Rock known simply as Rock.
“Hey!” shouted Power Lad with one eyebrow cocked. “What are you even doing here??? You were never a Titan!”
“I brought him here…..” revealed Blackbird stepping forward.
“Blackbird, is that you?” questioned Black Orchid, obviously annoyed as she noticed that Blackbird was wearing a new costume. “How did you slither in here?”
“I brought here with,” confirmed Nightvision.
“You two are back together?” scoffed Dark Arrow. “Good flipping luck….”
“ANYWAYS….” grumbled Blackbird. “I’ll explain my costume AND NAME change later…..I called in the Outsiders figuring if someone had sent out the triple priority alert it might be a good idea to bring them along. Now, let’s give Rock the floor.”
“Ok people….here’s the scoop,” continued Rock.

A Private Location...
"Today, I have to protect President Waller. We're taking her on a trip to "see" a friend of mine..... Rock. He was spotted helping a few Supers escape. President Waller wants to see him herself." General Sue Vega thinks as he sits in his armored High Tech Hummer, gazing out the window. "Vega." President Waller says over the Earpiece. "Yes, Ma'am?" Vega asks. "Team Bravo spotted a Sniper. Not too far off. Be on our best watch. Have all systems ready. Remember, I'm relying on you for this." Waller continues. "Alright." Vega replys. Waller hangs up without a word. "Hey Disco?" Vega calls out. "Yep?" The Alpha Team member named Disco responds. "Have any Armor left?" Vega asks. "I might. The guy's are covered though." Disco says, begining to search through the huge Equipment compartment disguised as a Glovebox. He looks up. "All out. Did you bring anything?" Disco says, dissapointed. "I didn't expect anything. The only thing I really have is my Eyepatch and Reactive Impact Undershirt." Vega replys.
A nearby Cliff,
A Sniper lays, covered in a Guilie Suit looks through their Rifle, watching. Faintly, the President's Armored Truck, another larger Armored Truck, and Vega's Armored Truck come closer.
***
Inside Vega's Truck...
The Truck progresses in complete silence.
***
Inside President Waller's Truck...
The Truck, much like Vega's progresses in complete silence.
Where The Sniper is,
The Sniper moves their Rifle. It's on President Waller's Truck!
Outside The Trucks,
The Trucks drive untill.... BAM! The Sniper's Bullet blows up the other Truck, as it flies up, smashing into Vega's Truck.
Inside Vega's Truck,
The Truck smashes through the Glass. The Driver and Passenger are killed in the impact as everyone else leaps out. Everyone except Vega. He smashes against the wall, headfirst.
Inside President Waller's Truck,
Agent Sudders covers The President as the Guards flee out.
Outside The Trucks,
Suddenly, the fire of Guns shoot at the Guards who scatter for cover. "What was that?" shouts the Alpha Team member Tron-O. "I think it's a--" Alpha Team Member Mort says, suddenly stopping. "A Chopper." He continues as a D-3-9 Helicopter hovers up towards them. WOOSH! A Rocket flys at Vega's Truck as Guards fire at it. Waller's Truck is now no where to be seen. Exhaust comes from a farther direction.
Inside Vega's Truck,
The Truck flips over, slamming Vega awake. He looks around as Gun Fire and shouts surround him. "Are you alive?" Waller asks over the Earpiece. "Yeah..." Vega replies. "I'm safe. I'm a few miles away from the next Safe Point. There's a G36 in the Trunk. Good Luck." Waller says. "Thanks." Vega says hanging up as he pushes open the Door. He crawls, avoiding being noticed and gets to the Trunk. He puts his Finger on the Trunk. The Trunk recognizes his Finger Print and pops open. Inside lays a Black Suitcase. He reaches inside and grabs it. He pulls it out and shuts the Trunk. Trying to do it his fastest, he opens the Suitcase, revealing a dis-assembled G36. He pulls it out and assembles it. He finishes adjusting the Scope and gets ready to battle. He stands up and fires at the Helicopter. The Helicopter begins flying away. Vega runs to the second Armored Truck. He opens the back Door, revealing his Black Muscle Car. He runs to it and opens it up, activating the transformation. Two side Cannons come out. He starts up the Car and drives away, in pursuit of the Helicopter.

The Hall of Justice(present day)….
“Interesting story Rock,” said Blackbird. “Somehow I knew you wouldn’t obey Waller’s decree. Well, let’s keep the Outsiders thing going and I’ll tell you all about the reason for my changes plus what Nightvision and….Bat-Girl did over the past year.

Gotham City…
This is Autumn Gleason for Gotham City Online News with your hourly GCON news update. Today marks the 1 year anniversary of the reinvention of the world. After the terror the fake Titans of Justice gave the world, it was shortly after that Amanda Waller put down an iron fist and almost became dictator of Earth. Here in Gotham, the overall was major. Waller used her Checkmate initiative to remove Arkham Asylum citing the numerous escapes they had plus the number of times it was destroyed. She created a prison out of the greatest science fiction writer’s mind. A dimension was found that was easily guardable and easy to access. Waller had the world’s top scientist make stasis containers inanimating each inmate then moving each individual container to the dimension which only a select few has access to. On top of this, key members of the Federal, State and Local governments have always agreed on her decisions calling any costume individual (powered or unpowered) a threat to society and stated that anyone trying to unauthorized access this dimension would be killed. PATRIOT ACT 4CE was made into law stating that any former super hero or costume entity is a threat to the nation’s security. Any one caught in Gotham has been placed in stasis like the inmates of Arkham and permanently locked up. Where the once historic Arkham Asylum stood, Waller had a castle constructed eerily reminiscent of the castle where famed Blue Beetle was killed years ago. Gotham’s underground was removed by members of Waller’s Checkmate and other groups. With Penguin, Black Mask, Two-Face, and other famed bosses locked up, most gave up or went into hiding thinking their boss will return for them. Curfews were established that made it illegal for anyone to be out at night. Gothamites once fearful of the villains and corrupt government now fear for their lives even in their own homes. There can be no talk of the Batman or the legacy legends of him as now even the once herald protector of Gotham would now be considered a threat. Amanda Waller allowed GCON News to mention him with the remark from The Wall herself that she has Brother Eyes and surveillance all around so anyone trying to even pretend to be Batman or any costumed entity will be put in inanimate stasis and locked away. Hope is gone for all of Gotham. Waller makes weekly if not daily trips to the city to make sure it stays under her lock and key. With Brother Eye satellites around the world, Checkmate members uncover, and other watchers, no one can even breathe or whisper without Waller knowing. Members of the Wayne Foundation have been asked to help Waller with her technology and other requests for her rule. When we asked for a statement related to the One Year anniversary of the reinvention, CEO Richard Grayson declined any comment stating to ask Amanda Waller her thoughts of the history of Gotham City. When I asked about the history of Gotham and what she sees its future being with the reinvention, she said and I quote “I see the darkness and tarnished history of its terrorism laced costume entities being mentioned nevermore. People will no longer have threats presented to them like the dead powered by power rings, a battle over a terrorist cowl, Kryptonians trying to take over Earth to make it there home, Amazons trying to declare Earth their ‘Paradise Island’, speedsters thinking it is OK to trash a town and money can buy anything, Martians trying to invade, and cities will never fall into the ocean again under my watch. The new Gotham will be full of peace and energy in an image that I as well as my superiors see fit.” When I asked The Wall about who her superiors was, she said “No one is more superior than me however I do have to report to others that may be revealed to all one day.” So how does Gotham move into the next year and years to come, it appears only The Wall knows. Any changes or when more reinvention happens, count on GCON to be there. This is Autumn Gleason reporting. Stay tuned for The Wall Live with her guest tonight Amanda Waller, members of Checkmate, and surprise guests to mark this anniversary.
“Dad can we turn it off now?” Brendan Grayson asked his dad as they sat in the board room.
“Yes. We have work to do anyways.” Dick Grayson said.
“OK? Dad you have been around Gotham in this area for most of your life, has it ever been like this?” Brendan asked.
“No son. I can’t say too much as you know the Wall has ears but there has been nothing in Gotham like this. Even when I was a kid and ward to Bruce Wayne, we did not experience anything like Amanda Waller has given us.” Dick said. “Now let’s go down to Research and Design.”
“OK Dad, you lead the way.” Brendon said.
Dick led Brendon to the executive elevator downstairs. As the door opened, Brendon was surprised by what he saw.
“Hi there son.” Barbara Gordon aka Oracle said as she sat in her control area.
“What is this place?” Brendon asked.
“Welcome to the new Batcave” Bat Girl said
“Bette!!! You know you can’t be in costume. You will be locked up forever and get us locked up too probably!” Brendon yelled.
“Chill out Batboy. Your mom has it covered.” A female voice said in the shadows.
“Brendon, we don’t have long so please be quiet and listen. Thanks to Ray Palmer’s theories the moving metal pieces you see are called Sliders. They are made of a new Nth Metal design created to block all light including anything from manmade to Black Lantern. No one can detect us here as besides the constant shifting of the light and radio waves as well as the moving Sliders, we are not on Earth right now rather outside in a Tesserarct.”
”Yes and basically as I found out when Bruce was believed to be dead, Gotham needs a Batman or a symbol like the Batman. You were Nightvision and people thought of you as the current Batman. Gotham needs that hope back as well as the world needs the Titans of Justice back to stop Waller. Bat Girl agreed to take the chance to keep her name however you can remain an uncostumed person, become Gotham’s Batman, or your decision. However we are moving on with or without you.. We have 2 people in place already however you are the key to making this all work. You have the talent that Bruce and I had plus some on occasion.”
“OK is one who is the other person involved besides you 2.” Brendon asked.
“Well I know your mom, dad, and I have not seen eye to eye with her however she is probably the best thing happened to you and right now, she is all we got.” Bat-Girl said.
“Yea. Right now you can’t see the one Blackbird costume unless it is in your dreams, however your new sidekick is here. Call me Crimson Squire.” Brenda said.
“Brenda. I thought you would never even talk to me let alone want to be a partner with me? What changed? I know I was not the best with Kitty Kat’s game playing however I asked you for a 2nd chance and you went all Outsider on me.” Brendon said puzzled.
“Well being an Outsider is still up in the air. Right now after this reinvention and some other events over the last year in my life, I found what is important to me. Gotham is important to me as well as are you. We don’t have to see eye to eye even get along out of costume, however I want to be part of your dynamic duo.”
”Yea I would like to Duo her but your mom and dad talked it over with me, and I said that I would agree to come back as a ‘family member’ and try to get along with her. Key word TRY!.” Bette said.
“Well we can’t stay here too long so the doubles don’t get discovered to be imposters. Here is what we did. Behind that grandfather clock is a door. In that room is equipment that some of it is even your designs. Please go back there and check it out. If you don’t want to after looking at the equipment room, we will move on and let you live your life.” Dick said.
Brendon walked to the clock and put the hands to midnight to open the equipment room. He expected to see just equipment on the table. However on 3 of the walls was key moments thru time of the Batman Family. From when Jason Todd was believed dead to the times his dad put on Batman’s cowl to any and all people that sided with his parents and Bruce over time. Then he looked at the 4th wall. There was the historic costumes he remembered seeing at Wayne Manor. Bruce’s, his dad’s Nightwing and Robin’s costumes, Jason Todd’s Robin costume, Tim Drake’s Red Robin and Robin costume, his mom’s Bat Girl and Oracle looks, and more shrined under glass. He looked at the costumes over and over remembering the history of Gotham and how Batman was the symbol of Gotham. He looked at the tables and pondered.
“He’ll do it” Brenda said.
“No he won’t., and I wouldn’t blame you if he walked away.” Bette said.
“You just want to be the opposite of me and disagree with me.” Brenda said.
“Yea you really have done some smart things and protected him haven’t you.” Bette said.
“Bat Girl and Crimson Squire ENOUGH!. We need to be on the same side.” Brendon yelled.
“YES! Nightvision is BACK!” Brenda exclaimed.
“Yes and no. It will be Knightvision from now on, and the spirit of Batman will live again thru me.”
”Just in time too. Someone stating she is Deathspin just single handed attacked Checkmate Castle and destroyed the stasis field and opened the dimension to all the inmates Waller locked up and they are escaping. Somehow Deathspin escaped in the chaos, but Waller will be pissed and be hunting.” Oracle said as she watched the online reports.
”Let her hunt. I think payback for the year of reinvention hell we have gone thru is in order.” Knightvision said.
“Go get Waller and her crew. We will be hear as much as we can. You have the training and the support, now bring back Gotham and the world.” Dick said.
“OK Crimson Squire and Bat Girl, we have a team to go find. Then Waller will have some explaining to do!” Knightvision said.

Back at the Hall of Justice(present day)…
As the crowd of heroes listened as the Crimson Squire concluded her tale, Dark Arrow kept quiet while staring at Nightvision and thought to himself, “Good flippin’ luck with that disaster. You two definitely deserve each other.”
Hawk Warrior was the next on to entertain the crowd. Hawk Warrior: "When the Syndicate of @$$holes kidnapped me, my wife, cousin, and teammates. I fought the contrapment I was put in. I pulled several muscles. 2 in my back, 1 in my chest. Some in my legs. When we were rescued, I completely ignored the pain I felt. Lyta told me I didn't look hurt. But I was. Me and Fury took some nights off, to rest some. I haven't been able to tell her I love her since that night. Because I'm dangling from life and death, trapped in this darkened room. I have no idea where I am, or how to even guess where I am. I am bound, but I don't even know by what. I am paralyzed from even moving my neck. I have slept in small doses, hoping it's only a nightmare that I can wake up from. From the darkness, I ponder the Shadow Thief. But that just seems too predictable. Let alone how ridiculous it begins to sound. I hope someone is looking for me. I don't even know how or when it happend, but I know I went to sleep by Lyta, and woke up here. To keep my mind occupied, I have dusted off the memories long forgotten. It comforts me.
Curiously, I have noticed I have not needed to go to the bathroom at all. I have no hunger, no thirst, not even a real desire to try and escape. Maybe thats because there is no escape. Am I dead? Is this what happens to every reincarnation of Hawkman, an eternity of blackness...?"
A familiar voice, dressed in a unrecognized accent flows like an echo into Hawk Warriors ear's: "You are not dead..."
Hawk Warrior: "Who are you?! What do you want?!"
The ever eery silence returns. Whoever it was is not here now.
Hawk Warrior sighs in fear, anxiety, worry, contemplence.
A rush of wind, slight pain, envelopment hits Hawk Warrior like a brick wall. The feelings don't seem to be physical, more... mental than anything else. Hawk Warrior feels as if he is drifting unconsious.
Hawk Warrior, against everything he has just felt, bursts from his binds, and flys upwards, in almost enjoyment. There is just one thing, he isn't doing any of it. He begins to try and rationlize what seems to be the unexplainable.
Hawk Warrior trys to speak, but nothing. So he says it in his head.
Hawk Warrior: "...Boston Brand...?"
Deadman: "At your service!"
Hawk Warrior: "Where are we?!"
Deadman: "One of your old pals' trap's."
Hawk Warrior: "Who?"
Deadman: "Your oldest "you"... Khufu..."
Hawk Warrior seems in shock. How could Khufu being doing this? Why?
Deadman: "Just so you'll shut up...; Khufu is pissed that you married some girl named Lyta, and that your cousin became Hawkgirl. He wants to destroy you, your wife, and cousin, and end the Hawkmen legacy. He may even have the power to do what he says."
Hawk Warrior is left in silence, and anger.
Hawk Warrior: "How do we stop him?"
Deadman: "I don't. You do. I am only here to free you of his realm that he has you trapped in. I'm taking you to his tomb."
Hawk Warrior: "Why does every mission I'm on pertain to Egypt...?"
Deadman: "Where else would a mission for Hawkma-- Whoops... Um-- Hawk Warrior be?... Luckily, for you at least, you were already in Egypt. We're actually near his tomb..."

Deadman's spirit explores the world, existing in one realm, and living in another. He begins to think he has almost no purpose anymore, beyond catching his killer. He reaches the place where he was killed. The giant circus tent no longer occupies this space. It was soon moved after his death. Someone bought the land to develope a commerical plaza there, but the superstitious guy he was, backed out of building it after he found out someone died at a circus that was once located there. The man still owns it, unable to sell it. It has mounds of durt piled, for where the plaza was suppost to be. Boston Brand hovers his ghostly form down to the exact spot his body was. He shows no sadness, no vindictiveness, no anger. He is beginning to lose his thirst for revenge. Hoping to rely on karma to have his death avenged.
He begins to feel pain, something he hasn't felt in a long time. It's not mental, it is physical pain, engulfing his entire body. He yell's out in pain, for no one to hear, or so he thought.
An emotion, one of annoyance floods the realm that holds Boston Brand.
Deadman: "Who's there?!?!?!"
He turns around to see that faint image of a winged silhoutte burning through the fog of the night.
Deadman: "Who are you?!?!"
Prince Khufu faintly: "I am prince Khufu, and your existence is all the more distracting. You are to be dealt with..."
Deadman does not hear the first part clear, but recognizes he has threatening intentions.
The closer Khufu gets to Boston, the stronger the pain that he feels. It becomes agonizing, as Deadman flee's by dropping through the ground, and passing his spirit through the earth.
Deadman thinking: "This is crazy! I need help! Who can-- Hawkman!"

Present...
Hawk Warrior in his head, talking to Deadman: "So what do I have to do?"
A dark muffled voice repeats: "...Die.... Die... Die... Die....."
Hawk Warrior disturbed to hear what he thinks he heard: "What was that?"
Deadman: "I said you have to find the amulet that Chayera and Khufu both wore to the grave, or tomb should I say. Chayera's seem's to be missing..."
Hawk Warrior: "How do you know about "Chayera"...?"

2 years and a month later. 1 day short of Deadman rescuing Hawk Warrior...
Because Deadman spirit occupies a dimension that is parallel to reality, everything that is happening in the world, is happening much faster to him. It takes him nearly 2 years (realities time) to pass through the earth, escaping from Khufu's clutches, and get to where he felt "Hawkman's" presence. He arrives to find "Hawkman" is where he is. But he doesn't see him. He enters through a portal that seems to have been recently entered, that goes into another realm. One that is dark, and has the presence of evil. He feel's "Hawkman's" presence close, until he accidentally enters his body.
Shocked by this, he then notices this isn't Hawkman, but his son; Hawk Warrior.

Present...
Deadman: "Khufu mentioned her and some amulet..."
They arrive at the pyramid housing Khufu's tomb.
Surprised to see the inside lit up by spotlights, with archeologists' tool's thrown about the granite floor.
Hawk Warrior notices two dead acheologists lying to the left.
Hawk Warrior: "Deadman, go check and see if either of them have a pulse!"
Deadman: "What? Who has a pulse?"
Hawk Warrior: "No, there's two acheologists over there, one could be hurt!"
Deadman: "I don't see anything..."
Hawk Warrior: "There righ--! Where'd they go?!"
Deadman: "Are you sure your okay?"
Hawk Warrior: "....... Yeah, I'm fine...."
Deadman controls Hawk Warriors body to walk up to the excavated coffin. Housing two mummies with wings. Khufu is holding one amulet, but Chayera's is missing!
Hawk Warrior notices the hyroglyphics on the sides around the coffin are jumbled up, just incoherent lines, scribbles.
Deadman: "We have to find it..."
Hawk Warrior: "Didn't you say this is something I had to do on my own...?"
Deadman: "Did I?... Oh, I meant this is something that we had to do together. Hahaha, I said only you, ha...."
Hawk Warrior begins to wonder something, and as his suspicion grows, Khufu's spirit breaks from his realm, and enters reality. He looks almost real, as if it really was his body.
Khufu: ""Hawk Warrior", you are the only one that stands in my way of ending the Hawkman legacy! Your wife, and cousin are dead. Deadman is useless against me."
Hawk Warrior, filled with anger, rage, willpower expells Deadman out of him, and regains complete control of himself. Rushing after Khufu with a vengance. His mace locked onto Khufu's jaw, connects to it, but seemingly goes right through him, as if he really is a ghost, or is intangable. Khufu fans his wings open, and flaps them out, creating a black sonic boom, that jolts both Hawk Warrior, and Deadman. Hawk Warrior, dazed, tries to get up, but Khufu swoops down, taking his rotting hand, and presses it up against Hawk Warriors head, burning him. Hawk Warrior yells in pain. As the pressure Khufu puts on his skull gets harder.
Khufu: "I am sick of what this curse is doing to you. Everything you do, I know about it, every time a Hawkman dies, my spirit is left in agonizing pain, along with the souls of all the other Hawkmen, Hawkwomen, and Hawkgirls. If I do not return the amulet that was in my wifes hand in that coffin, and I kill you, the Hawkman legacy will be no more, than my soul can rest... In peace..."
Hawk Warrior: "Don't do this!..."
Khufu lifts his other hand, and aims it at Deadman, a black charge is blasted from his hand, as it hits Deadman, entrapping him, in that same exact spot forever.
Khufu presses both hands on Hawk Warriors head, paralyzing him. He increases pressure, cracking his skull. Khufu retracts his arms from his head. As Hawk Warrior begins to be lose consiousness before dying. His eyes begins to roll back, his skin color grows pale, as he closing his eyes, strongly thinking: "This isn't real!!! This isn't real!!! This isn't real!!!"
Hawk Warrior wakes up! He jumps up from his bed, sweating terrbily, as Lyta wakes up from Hawk Warriors sudden jolt.
Hector quietly mutters: "It was all a dream?..."
Lyta: "Whats wrong, D-- Hector?!"
Hector moans a sigh of relief... He looks to the TV that was left on in their bedroom. A newsreport flashes across the screen, interrupting the television program. Both Fury and Hawk Warrior turn to look.
Reporter: "Reports are coming in on the spot, that two acheologists have been found dead inside the pyramid of prince Khufu. There are 11 eye witness' that a man looking similar to "Dr. Destiny", wearing a blue outfit, with a dark blue hooded cape, and a 'skull face'--..."
Hawk Warrior drowns the rest of the report out, realizing this was the source of his terrible nightmare. He grabs his harnessed wings, pants, boots, mace, and mask, ready to head out after this new Dr. Destiny
Hawk Warrior: "De Ja Vu..."
Fury looks at him, curiously...
Hawk Warrior: "No rest for the weary, I guess..."

Fury’s private quarters…
Green Lantern: "I love you, Lyta, an--"

Fury interrupts: "Dan... It's just not right... What about Hector?"
Green Lantern: "He's on Earth-1 alot, and I know you get lonely... Thats not right..."
Fury: "Your not acting yourself, Dan, are you okay... You would never do this, your a pastor...?"
Green Lantern: "Even better since I can sense you love me too..."
Dan gets close, putting his hands near her face, as if to give her a kiss. Fury quickly grabs his hands, stopping him.
Fury: "Dan, I can't - I just can't... "
Dan: "Than just let me do all the work..."
Lyta slowly lets go of his hands, retracting them to her sides. He slowly begins to kiss her. Their lips connect, slightly unnerving Lyta, but she continues, allowing the passionate kiss go on. She starts to get into the kiss herself.
Lyta wakes up! Unsure of what woke her. First thought was of the dream she just had. She see's Hector realing out of bed. Sweating from his nightmare.
Hector quietly mutters: "It was all a dream?..."
Lyta: "Whats wrong, D-- Hector?!"
Fury is startled by the fact she almost said Dan's name.

Hawk Warrior: "De Ja Vu..."
Fury looks at him, curiously...
Hawk Warrior: "No rest for the weary, I guess..."
Lyta slowly gets out of bed, hoping that this new Doctor Destiny is responsible for her dreams. She grabs her costume and crown. Preparing to head out to search for Dr. Destiny. Following Hector, on the way out of their bedroom, she begins to tell herself that it is just a dream. She's not convincing herself, unfortunately.

After making it to Egypt, to the pyramid where the two acheologists were killed.
Fury: "S-So a new "Dr. Destiny" gave you this nightmare?"
Hawk Warrior: "Yeah."
Fury: "Did the original Dr. Destiny ever give anybody dreams that weren't nightmares...?"
Hawk Warrior: "Not that I know of. Why?"
Fury looks at the foot prints left by Dr. Destiny that were left in the sand and dust on the granite pyramid floor.
Hawk Warrior: "Did you hear me?"
Fury: "Huh?"
Hawk Warrior: "I said, "Not that I know of, why?"."
Fury: "Oh... No reason."
Hawk Warrior gets close to her.
Hawk Warrior: "Did you have a dream?"
Fury: "Hector..."
Hawk Warrior: "You can tell me, Lyta..."
Fury: "... There! Dr. Destiny's foot prints."
She points, as she begins to follow Dr. Destiny's trail.
Hawk Warrior, not done with the conversation, follows her down into a seperate room inside the pyramid.
Hawk Warriors follows Fury through a small opening from a missing block, at the end of the seperate room. It leads outside to the desert. They both stand looking at the sand dunes ahead of them.
Hawk Warrior: "There's no way we can find him. Lets head back."
Fury: "Okay..."

1 month later...
Lyta Hall sits down to an early breakfast. She is on Earth-2, while her husband is taking care of something on Earth-1. She has been thinking about the dream she had nearly a month ago, stronger and stronger with every passing day. She picks up the phone to call Huntress. She hits "Talk", and begins to dial Huntress' phone number, but quickly hits "End".

Another month passes...
Lyta: "Hector..."
Lyta begins, as Hawk Warrior just gets out of the shower, from another long day searching for Doctor Destiny.
Hector grabs his towel and dries his hair, and then the rest of his body.
Hector: "What'd'ya say, Lyta...?"
As he pulls the towel away from his head, looking for a response from Lyta.
Lyta: "I-- I..."
Hector directs all of his attention towards her. Looking almost enthusiastic, hoping this is about the dream that he suspects she had almost two months ago.
Hector: "Go ahead, Lyta, you can tell me anything."
Lyta: "I know I can..."
Lyta shows insecruity in telling him, he knows it, and she knows he knows it.
Hector: "Whatever it was about, don't be afraid to tell me."
Lyta realizes he knows that what she has to tell him relates to her dream.
Hector impatiently awaits her to reveal her dream.
Lyta: "This is really hard for me to tell you, Hector..."
Lyta sits down on their bed, as Hector wraps the towel around his waist, and sits down next to her.
Lyta continues: "I had this dream... D--... Dan was in it..."
Hector looks curiously, processing what it could have been about.
Lyta: "Dan told me--... Told me he loved me..."
Hector: "Okay. That's not the first time Dan has ever said that."
Lyta nervously continues, but is quickly interrupted by Hectors communicator relaying a message that Doctor Destiny was recently spotted in Gotham, on Earth-1.
Hector sighs.
Hector: "As much as I want to her about your dream, it will have to wait. I gotta catch this bag-o-bones."
Hector hurriedly grabs his costume, and mace. Dressing almost on the way out of their house.

The next day...
Hector returns, he had been searching for Doctor Destiny all night. The sun is just rising. He enters his bedroom expecting to find Lyta still asleep, but to his surprise, is not. He goes into the kitchen to find her brooding over a cup of coffee.
Lyta looks to see him walk through the kitchen doorway. Eyes watered, masscara staining the rim around them.
Hector quickly removes his mask, and sits down next to her at the kitchen table. Showing signs of compassion for his wife, noticing that this dream really is something that she is struggling to even deal with.
Hector: "It's okay, Lyta, just finish telling me, I won't be horrified by what Doctor Destiny could have possibly made you dream. My dream was terrible, but it's nothing that a cup of coffee and seeing my wife in the morning wouldn't fix."
The fact that her dream wasn't the product of Doctor Destiny scares her even more. And Hectors comment about seeing her in the morning, upsets her all the more.
Lyta decides to just spill it.
Lyta: "Dan told me he loved me, and tried to kiss me."
Hector realizes her fear of the anger she expected him to have with this news. He assumes that she didn't want him to kiss her, or didn't let him kiss her.
Hector: "I'm not mad... At all."
But Hector is unprepared for what he is about to hear.
Lyta sighs in anxiety: "I let him kiss me, and then I started to kiss him..."
Hector leans back, not saying a word, not showing an emotion.
Hector: "..... Is that something deep down, that you desire...?"
Lyta quickly retorts: "No! No. It has been haunting me for months... Hector, ar-- are you okay?"
Lyta notices that he is looking down at the table.
Hector: "Know that I'm not mad at you... But I want a divorce."
Lyta begins to cry full heartedly: "What?! No! I'm sorry!"
Hector: "Your apology is meaningless."
Lyta wakes up! Finding a breathing tube through her nose, and down her throat. A pulse clamp is on her finger, along with a cords attached to her chest, monitoring her heart. She is horrified. Wondering what possibly happend.
Two nurses rush into her medical room, shocked to find Lyta Hall awake.
Lyta quietly: "What happend?!"
Nurse: "Sweetie, you were attacked by Doctor Destiny, he hit you over the head. Cracked your skull. The doctors fixed you up. You have no neurological problems. You were perfectly fine, but the impact, it put you into a coma."
Lyta concerned: "For how long?!"
Nurse: "About 9 months. Your husband said you were in the crowd that Doctor Destiny attacked. Hawk Warrior was the one that brought you here... Your husband never thought about pulling the plug for one second, honey."
Lyta: "I want to see my husband..."
Nurse: "We're calling him now."
Lyta thinks to herself: "It was all a dream. All of it. Hectors dream too... I dreamed it all..."

The phone in Hector Hall and Lyta Hall's home rings, not answered...
***
Hawk Warrior gets a call through his communicator...
He answers.
Hector: "Yes?"
Nightvision: "I have everyone's cell phones, and home phones wired, and I pick up all calls. You got a call from the doctor...
Hector recognizes who's voice is telling him this.
Hector: "Is she okay?!"
Nightvision: "Yes... She's awake, Hector...!"
Hectors eye's widen in joy, love, happiness, thankfullness, and excitement, as he heads for the hospital.
