Last Time In Super Friends:
The male teen heroes invaded Deep Blue’s castle in order to rescue their kidnapped girls! Blue Dolphin’s mind-control kiss has worked a charm on Whirlpool, who is now ready to become her Prince! White Wraith duels Blue Marlin for his life, whilst Deep Blue and reinforcements are on their way to stop this madness! But, another threat is on the horizon…
White Wraith chased Blue Marlin through the castle, his magical sword ready to attack his foe. His cape was cut and torn, as was Blue Marlin’s costume. Blue Marlin was definitely better than White Wraith, but his mystic abilities allowed him to at least block the boy’s attacks.
“Keep following me, ghost boy,” Blue Marlin mocked, “we’ll be at our destination any minute now!”
“What is he talking about?” White Wraith though to himself. “Destination? Does he have some sort of special duelling room or something?”
White Wraith realised that they were going further down through the castle. His guess was that they were now under the castle. Magic torches lit the dark, ancient hallways. At the bottom of the stairs, was a metal door. Blue Marlin pressed in a code on a small keypad. He entered the room, followed by White Wraith.
The first thing he noticed was that there was no water in the room. He realized just how wet he was when he entered the room. Some sort of magic was holding the water in the stony staircase behind him. The room was a pit, with a narrow brick path leading across the diameter. Down below were a field of metal spikes, some with blood on them. Blue Marlin stopped halfway across the path and turned to face White Wraith.
“This is my duelling room,” he explained, a smile on his face, “this is where me and my friends practise our sword skills!”
“Why is there no water in this room?” White Wraith asked curiously. “Surely you can’t breathe in here…”
“Surely, you can’t breathe underwater?” Blue Marlin replied. “Of course, you use those pills Whirlpool gives you. We use similar methods.”
“So why have you brought me here?” White Wraith asked, fearing the answer.
“Everybody knows it’s easier to move when there’s no water resistance, fool,” Blue Marlin mocked, “if you thought I was bad enough in the ocean, you haven’t seen anything yet!”
White Wraith knew this battle was lost before it had even began.
Blue Marlin ran forward with his sword facing outwards. White Wraith cursed under his breath as the boy slashed his costume, creating a red line of blood on his chest. As quick as lightning, Blue Marlin kicked White Wraith in the face, knocking him back. Blue Marlin leapt into the air, ready to pull the fatal blow.
“If I can’t dodge this I’m a goner!” White Wraith fired a bolt of magic at Blue Marlin, but defended himself with his sword. The sword overpowered the bolt, but the force sent Blue Marlin backwards.
“Now to defeat this guy,” White Wraith thought, running forward with a magic bolt charging in his hand. He fired it at Blue Marlin who once again dodged the attack. White Wraith kept firing bolt after bolt at the boy, but he was too fast and managed to deflect or dodge every single one.
“How is your sword deflecting my attacks without burning?” White Wraith shouted, flying backwards to avoid being stabbed.
“My sword has magic properties,” Blue Marlin laughed, “any magic that hits it will not destroy it! However, I do not need it to destroy you…”
Blue Marlin dropped his sword in a shocking turn of events, and sprinted towards White Wraith as fast as an athlete. He punched him in the face, sending him toppling over the bridge. The force of the punch was so hard that White Wraith didn’t have time to muster the strength to fly back up. As the spikes grew nearer to him, Blue Marlin laughed and grabbed his sword. He threw it towards White Wraith. Blue Marlin fled the room, locking another steel door.
“C’mon Wraith, gather your strength! You can do this if you just concentrate!”
White Wraith smiled as he stopped falling through the pit just before the spikes pierced him. He sensed the sword flying towards him, and immediately stuck one hand out. He caught the sword perfectly in his hand.
“Oh, Blue Marlin, this battle is far from over!”

“Let us out of here!” Wonder Girl demanded viciously, her body shaking ferociously against the shackles that held her against the wall. Blue Marlin chuckled as he walked over to his control desk. Alongside Wonder Girl, Totem, Tula, Sherry and Hawkgirl also hung by the shackles. Most of them had ceased shouting, but Wonder Girl was determined to be let free.
“I’m sorry, Wonder Girl, but Blue Dolphin requests that you stay bolted up. And so you shall.”
“I’m getting out of here, and then I’m gonna…well….I dunno what I’ll do but it’ll hurt!”
“Wonder Girl, just shut up,” Hawkgirl hissed, tired of the young girls’ threats. “Seriously, you’re giving me a headache here…”
Wonder Girl huffed under her breath, and looked over at the other girls in boredom. Sherry looked as if she was crying a little bit, as her eyes looked puffy and her cheeks looked red. Totem’s head was drooping as if she was asleep, and Hawkgirl was staring down at the floor, breathing slowly to calm herself down. On the other side of her, Tula was muttering foreign words under her breath, concentrating on the ceiling like a hawk.
“Tula, what are you doing?” Wonder Girl whispered, trying to grab the girls attention by rattling her shackles. Tula continued to stare up at the ceiling, the mutterings growing faster.
“Tula? You in there? You‘re worrying me…”
Wonder Girl screamed, as suddenly the ceiling above her collapsed. Blue Marlin jumped in shock, as Tula screamed and created a violet force field around herself. The ceiling fell on top of the shield, destroying the shackles. Tula slipped her wrists out of the shackles, as Blue Marlin swam towards her angrily.
“Stay back, you…fiend!” Tula cried, blasting him backwards with a jet of violet energy. She directed her magic at Wonder Girl’s shackles, which sizzled into nothing.
“Alright, girl! Now that is one for the history books!” Wonder Girl laughed, flying over to Totem’s shackles. She ripped them out with all her strength, freeing her best friend. Blue Marlin scowled as she freed Hawkgirl and Sherry too. The five girls all crowded together triumphantly.
“You’re all gonna pay for that,” Blue Marlin threatened, swimming forwards with his fists ready to attack.
“He’s mine!” Hawkgirl shouted, throwing her mace at him. Blue Marlin caught the spiked weapon with ease, and threw it back at the girls. They scattered as it dented the wall seconds after they moved out of the way.
“Oh yeah, Hawkgirl, great move there,” Totem said sarcastically, taking on the powers of a whale to move across the dungeon quickly.
“It merely prolonged your life by about five seconds,” Blue Marlin shouted, swimming after Hawkgirl. The girl cursed her wings that prevented her from swimming quickly as Blue Marlin grabbed her ankles and swung her into Tula fiercely. Tula screamed as she was powerfully tackled to the ground. Hawkgirl managed to plant her foot in Blue Marlin’s face, allowing herself to be freed. Totem wrapped herself around Blue Marlin’s back and called upon the powers of a boa constrictor, hoping to strangle him. However, he grabbed her arm and bit it, releasing Totem’s grip on him. He flipped around and bought her chest onto his knee, knocking the breath out of her.
The Outskirts of Deep Blue’s Castle
“I best try this one last time,” the cloaked figure murmured, grabbing his communicator. “Come in, Blue Marlin,” he said, awaiting a reply. However, there was no response. Angrily, the boy stomped on his communicator, breaking it in two.
“Damn it! Looks like it’s just me now! Oh well, Blue Marlin can beg for a share in his mother’s impressive castle after I‘ve claimed it as my own!”

Sherry grabbed a smoke bomb from her utility belt and threw it at Blue Marlin, causing him to cough uncontrollably.
“Good thinking, Sherry,” Wonder Girl complimented, “come on, let’s grab Tula and Totem and get out of this place!”
“Not so fast, you annoying little brats!” Blue Marlin sneered, swimming through the cloud of smoke. He grabbed Sherry’s cape and swung her around, making her lose her balance. He kicked her in her back, causing her to go flying across the water.
“Sherry!” Wonder Girl cried. The girls were losing their ground fast. “Hawkgirl, what are we gonna do? This guy is tough!”
Hawkgirl swam to the ground and grabbed her mace, making a U-Turn to reach Blue Marlin. She shouted as she bought the mace down on Blue Marlin’s shoulder, crippling him temporarily. She kicked him in his mouth, knocking him backwards. She swam forward fearlessly, preparing the final attack to take him out. However, he grabbed his sword that lay next to him, swinging it upwards. The sword broke the mace cleanly in two.
“What? But my mace is made of Nth Metal!” Hawkgirl exclaimed in disbelief. Blue Marlin grinned as he kicked her knee, toppling her to the ground. He stomped on her as he made his way to Wonder Girl, taking her out for good.
“I’m the strongest member of the Super Friends,” Wonder Girl warned, “there is no way you’re gonna be able to take me out with your kung-fu tricks!”
“I don’t care if you’re Superman, you still have pressure points!” Blue Marlin grabbed Wonder Girl and karate chopped her neck, sending her body to the floor. The blue-skinned boy laughed as the girls tried to stand back up, to no avail.
“Now then, Blue Dolphin won’t be very happy with you girls,” he mocked, standing on top of Wonder Girl to keep her down. “She might have to resort to more violent measures! I guess shackles can’t keep you in place…how about a nice little fire pit? You won’t be moving after being dumped in there!”
“Nobody’s getting dumped anywhere!” White Wraith shouted, bursting into the room.
“What? I thought you were dead?” Blue Marlin gasped, as White Wraith used his magic bolts to disarm his opponent.
“So did I, for a few seconds,” White Wraith grinned, firing another bolt at the boy’s chest. “But then I remembered something…” White Wraith grabbed Blue Marlin as he held his stomach in pain. He struck Blue Marlin’s neck, in the same place Blue Marlin had hit Wonder Girl. “I remembered that I’m magic.”
“White Wraith, our hero!” Wonder Girl laughed as she stood up. She flung her arms around his waist.
“Um…Wonder Girl? What are you doing? AAH!”
White Wraith blushed as the other girls all hugged him too, laughing as he tried to shrug them off.
“Um, girls we have a job to do!”
The girls giggled as they let go of their hero, swimming out of the room to find Blue Dolphin.
“I bet she’s in her throne room,” Sherry suggested from the back of the pack.
“All I have to do is read Air Wave’s mind and I know where to go,” White Wraith explained. After a moment of silence, he opened his eyes. “Sherry’s right. They’re in the throne room! However, there’s something wrong with Whirlpool’s thoughts…I couldn’t get a clear hold on him.”
“Then we better get there quicker,” Hawkgirl interrupted, “if something’s happened to him I swear Blue Dolphin will pay!”
“The throne room is up ahead,” Totem examined as they swam through a long corridor. “Look, in the distance! It’s Air Wave!” Totem squinted as they swam closer. “And, is that Whirlpool? Oh my god, Whirlpool’s attacking him!”
“Blue Dolphin’s done that,” Hawkgirl replied, entering the throne room. “And she will pay!”
Hawkgirl busted into the room, heading straight for Blue Dolphin.
“Release him, you witch!” Hawkgirl cried, trying to punch the girl. Blue Dolphin looked on despondently, as two vines grew out of the floor and restrained Hawkgirl back. The Thanagarian warrior shouted as she fought the vines with all her might.
“Air Wave!” Tula screamed. “Whirlpool, get off him!” Tula swam towards Whirlpool and tried to grab his arm, but her brother elbowed her in the face, knocking her back.
“Hey, fish boy!” Totem shouted, punching him in the jaw. “You’re under Blue Dolphin’s control. You have to fight against her!”
“I must…I must fight against…” Whirlpool’s cold expression flickered back to his normal self. Suddenly, his face turned cold again and he kicked Totem into the wall. “I must destroy my friends!”
Tula fired two mystic bolts at her brother’s wrists, hoping to restrain him. She held on tight as Whirlpool tried to fight against her.
“Hold him in place, Tula,” Sherry said, preparing a punch. “I’ve never done this before, so I’ve got to get it right,” Sherry thought to herself. As Tula restrained Whirlpool, Sherry punched him in the face, causing a nose-bleed.
“Well done, Sherry, but it’s going to take a little more than that!” Totem encouraged. Whirlpool roared in anger, creating two spheres of pressurized water around his hands. The water pushed against Tula’s magical hold, but it was no use as the water pushed her grip away from him. Whirlpool fired the spheres at Tula, pushing her into a wall. Air Wave fired a low pitched sound wave at the boy, grinning as Whirlpool fell to the floor in pain.
“You’re all gonna pay!” Whirlpool screamed. Shakily, he got back on his feet and tackled Air Wave to the ground. Sherry gasped as he turned on her, firing a pressurized sphere of water at her which knocked her into Tula.
“I’m not gonna go down so easily, Whirlpool,” Totem warned, charging towards him with the strength of a rhino. Whirlpool grinned, facing her head-on. Just as she was about to reach, he swam out of the way, laughing as she tackled the wall.
“Blue Dolphin, we are triumphant” Whirlpool laughed, joining the love of his life on her throne.
“Yes, we are,” she purred, giggling as Wonder Girl tried to free Hawkgirl from her prison.
“Although, dear Monica,” Whirlpool said sternly, “I could have sworn there was another one with them…”
“Yes, there was,” White Wraith smiled, phasing through the wall behind them. “He’s right here!” Whirlpool’s eyes widened as White Wraith appeared behind him.
White Wraith blasted him away from Blue Dolphin then swam after him quickly. Whirlpool growled as he got back up from the blast, and swam towards White Wraith angrily. Without hesitation, he grabbed the boy by his neck and strangled him. White Wraith began to choke, trying to gather the strength for another attack. However, the fights with Blue Marlin had left him exhausted. He choked once more, then blacked out. Whirlpool dropped him on the floor, then began to walk back to Blue Dolphin. However, Wonder Girl and Hawkgirl had managed to destroy her vines and were swimming towards Blue Dolphin!
“Nobody hurts my Monica!” Whirlpool shouted, enraged. He swam towards them. Wonder Girl smirked and punched him away. The force of her punch had knocked the air out of Whirlpool’s lungs. He lay still on the floor.
“Hey, looks like your little bodyguard isn’t getting back up!” Wonder Girl mocked, as Blue Dolphin stood up. She was still smiling mischievously. “What’s so funny? We just defeated the only person keeping you safe!”
“I still have control over Whirlpool,” Blue Dolphin said sweetly. “As soon as he catches his breath again, he’ll be back up here, ready to fight. He doesn’t care how much pain he is hit with, I just tell him to get back up and fight!”
Hawkgirl looked worried. She turned around to look at Whirlpool. He was already beginning to recover from Wonder Girl’s powerful punch.
“The only way to break his control, is to take his mind off of me!” Blue Dolphin sung. “And I know that you Earth girls don’t just go around kissing any boy you see! Unfortunately for you, that’s the only way he’s going to be set free!”
“She’s right,” Wonder Girl whispered to Hawkgirl. “There is no way I’m kissing fish-sticks over there!”
Hawkgirl swam over to Whirlpool and looked at his face. He was trying to make a fist, but he was too weak.
“Unlucky for you, Blue Dolphin, I’m not an Earth girl,” Hawkgirl grinned. “I can’t say I’ll enjoy this, but I’ve got to take one for the team.” Wonder Girl looked on in horror as Hawkgirl bent down and kissed Whirlpool on the lips. Blue Dolphin bit her tongue as Hawkgirl continued to kiss him, hoping that Whirlpool would hurry up and push her off of him. After what seemed like an eternity, Whirlpool’s eyes turned back to his usual expression. Hawkgirl let go and wiped her mouth, standing up bravely and looking up at the ceiling embarrassingly.
“Huh…Hawkgirl?” Whirlpool murmured as he came to his senses. “Did you just…did you just kiss me?!?”
“Ew!” Wonder Girl grimaced. “Hawkgirl just snogged the face off of fish sticks!”
“I had to do it, Whirlpool,” Hawkgirl muttered, her cheeks turning red. “There was no other way…”
“No! Whirlpool, you belong to me!” Blue Dolphin cried. “Not her! You’re my boyfriend!”
“Not anymore he isn’t,” Wonder Girl grinned. “Come on, Blue Dolphin, let’s take you to the precinct!”
The quartet screamed as the front wall of the throne room exploded.
“What was that?” Hawkgirl said, as Whirlpool leapt to his feet in surprise.
“Ah, we meet again, Whirlpool!” The cloaked figure laughed, running into the room.
“Wave Lord? What are you doing here?” Whirlpool shouted.
“Well, I had a little plan going on with Blue Marlin, that we would invade his mother’s castle and take over the joint…however, it seems he has chickened out and left me on my own…”
“Did you know about this?” Wonder Girl asked Blue Dolphin, who was hiding behind her mother’s throne.
“N-No! I didn’t! I don’t even know who this guy is!”
“I’ll tell you who he is,” Whirlpool said, “he’s the guy that broke Tula’s bones! He’s going to pay for that, right now! I never did get revenge!”
Whirlpool swam forward as fast as he could, despite his injuries. Wave Lord laughed as his helmet unleashed a pink laser that zapped his arch-nemesis and knocked him out.
“Whirlpool!” Hawkgirl cried. “Wonder Girl, he’s knocked out! It’s just you and me now!” Wonder Girl and Hawkgirl swam forward, but Wave Lord’s helmet zapped Hawkgirl before she could even get close. Wonder Girl swam forward, using her bracelets to deflect his zaps.
“Your stupid helmet can’t defeat me, whoever you are!”
“I told you, my name is Wave Lord, and I’m here to take over this castle!”
Wonder Girl flew towards Wave Lord, but his helmet created a shield around himself. Wonder Girl punched a hole in the shield with all of her strength, then swam towards him, her fists prepared to do the talking for her. However, she was suddenly knocked backwards. Wave Lord looked at her, confused at what had hurt her. He proceeded to laugh, however, his mouth was clamped shut by an invisible force.
“Monica, you better explain why my castle is in a complete mess!”
Blue Dolphin gasped as Deep Blue entered the throne room, followed closely by Tempest, Aquaman and Lorena Marquez. All of them looked angry. Huntress appeared next to them, followed by Bulletboy, Kai-Ro, Stellar and Power Lad.
e
“Now, somebody better tell me what’s going on.” Huntress said slowly. “Wonder Girl, why don’t you start?” Wonder Girl groaned as Huntress swam towards her.
“I’m just going to leave now…” Wave Lord said quietly, edging his way towards the destroyed wall.
“You’re not going anywhere, ‘Wave Lord’,” Tempest said, creating an invisible barrier with his mystic powers. “Except jail.”
The Kingdom of Atlantis…
The Super Friends were stood in the lobby of Tempest’s castle. Huntress had finally finished scolding them all for going off on a mission without informing her, and Blue Dolphin had begged for mercy from her mother who had took her home angrily. However, Blue Marlin had been sent to a prison cell in Atlantis for trying to invade her castle. It didn’t matter if he was her son, Deep Blue would show no mercy for her rule-breaking child. Wave Lord had also been thrown into the cells. Both of the boys scowled at each other for ruining their plan.
“Well, the day is saved, once again, by the Super Friends!” Stellar laughed as the group began to leave.
“Thanks for trying to save me, Stellar,” Sherry thanked. “Even though you got trapped by some plants or something…”
“It’s no problem,” Stellar laughed as they swam out of the castle. “I’d do anything to help a friend in need.”
“If you’d do anything,” Bulletboy interrupted as he caught up with them. His cracked helmet was in his arms. “Do you reckon you can fix this for me?” The trio laughed as they made their way to the shore.
“Goodbye, Tula,” Air Wave said as the princess of Atlantis walked him to the door. “It was fun. But we should stop meeting when we’re both in danger,” he chuckled.
“Maybe one day, Wave,” Tula blushed. “It was nice to see you again.” Tula hugged Air Wave, who blushed as he returned the hug. He smiled and waved as he swam away.
“Well Wonder Girl, how you feeling?” Power Lad grinned as he and Wonder Girl followed Air Wave out of the door.
“I’m feeling like I saved your butt,” Wonder Girl smirked.
“What? You didn’t come and help me when I was getting all sliced up by that freaky blue dude!”
“No, but I did defeat Blue Dolphin before those pills you have to take to breathe underwater stopped working.”
“That doesn’t count,” Power Lad replied.
“Um, yes it totally does,” Wonder Girl said.
“No it doesn’t.”
“Yes it does!”
“No. It. Doesn’t.”
“Yes. It. DOES!”
“Will you two both shut up?” Totem smiled, pushing herself in between them. “You’re giving a gal a headache here!”
“Congratulations on your fight, White Wraith,” Huntress smiled as the pair of them left the castle. “You really showed Blue Marlin!”
“Yeah, I guess I did ok,” he murmured, as Kai-Ro followed them closely.
Meanwhile, Hawkgirl and Whirlpool were talking in the entrance hall of the castle.
“I can’t believe you kissed me,” Whirlpool said. He still couldn’t believe what had happened to him that day.
“I can’t believe I kissed you either,” Hawkgirl replied, “I had to do it for the safety of the team! It’s not like…it’s not like I wanted to do it!”
“Yeah, sure you didn’t,” Whirlpool joked.
“What’s that supposed to mean?” Hawkgirl folded her arms and glared at the boy.
“Oh you know. Personal gain, and all that stuff,” Whirlpool replied cockily.
“Ew, no way! It was totally necessary. I had no choice! You would have killed us out there!”
“You know you can’t resist me,” Whirlpool laughed, “I’m just too hot to handle.”
Hawkgirl rolled her eyes and said, “Arin, you’re cute. I’ll give you that.”
Whirlpool smiled as Hawkgirl looked away, a smile forming on her lips.
“Besides. I don’t go out with guys with hair longer than my own.”
With that, Hawkgirl swam out of the castle, leaving Whirlpool bewildered.
“Well, she’s something special,” Whirlpool said to himself as she disappeared from view.
