Hours ago, Scott Stone had blasted his friend, the Arachnid, down. He had a motive, to protect his ally, his only Earth compatriot in the depths of space, while he went off to war.
The sixth Earthman presented with a Green Lantern Corps ring found himself in the belts between Rann and Thanagar. Scott looked around him, in the Rannian War-Ship, he was surrounded, by Adam and Aleea Strange, both geared up in versions of Adam’s armor, Aleea’s was a smaller duplicate of Adam’s, and it was obvious Adam’s hadn’t been used in years.
To his right was Ch’al Andar, the son of Fel Andar, and General of the Rannian Warriors, as well as the Wingmen. He was surrounded with his lieutenants. The only thought going on in Scott Stone’s head was simply this; “AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!”
***
The Rannagarian Rebel Base, Med-Lab…
The Arachnid started with a bolt. His dizzying head and his constant mumbles about several strange nightmares stopped so suddenly as the costumed crusader of glory-hogging and vanity jumped out of his hospital bed.
“That jerk! He blasted me to the ground…” The Arachnid said, looking around, finding injured soldiers all around him, “All I wanted to do was look after him, too. What a…”
“Shut up!” came a stern voice. A certain authority caught the bug-themed hero off guard as he saw a man glad in blue and gold with a gold visor to top off his mask and a blue star squarely on his chest.
“Booster?” The Arachnid asked, looking to see the man responsible for his own origin.
“Yeah. It’s been a while, two years, maybe.” Booster said, not changing his tone from a serious voice, his eyes became transfixed on the Arachnid, “Maybe a year to you, you’ve been through a lot. Unfortunately, you’re not supposed to know I’m here.”
“So? Take a Hawkman armor and take me to the battle, man. Spaceman’s useless without me, and I can’t stand it when he doesn’t include me.”
“Shut up, kid, this is serious, I’m trying to prevent a…time-crook from killing the father of the next greatest champion of justice. I shouldn’t have said that out loud.” Booster mumbled, “Rip’s gonna kill me, thank God Skeets needed repairing.”
Booster ran off, to find himself a suit of armor he could disguise himself in. The hero from the future mumbled to himself, after all, this mission sucked, it was just a chronal possibility, like the Legion Superman joined, or the future the Arachnid really came from, It was all just a possibility created by certain events. It would continue to exist, but undoubtedly be replaced by a more solid flow of time.
Booster found himself a Rannian’s armor, slightly damaged, but in good working condition. The hero put in over his costume, and went back to the Arachnid.
“We’re off, kid. We need to go save your buddy, Starman, before they get their hand on him.”
“Who’s they?”

Thanagar, the High Chancellor’s Office…
The war-ship hovered outside the High Chancellor’s window, watching him, two figures were in his office, one was the High Chancellor, the other wore a cape, and hovered above the ground.
“You know what to do, Skot?” Golden Eagle asked, looking at the Green Lantern.
“Barge in, tell him off, and scream like a little girl.” Scott smirked, looking at Golden Eagle, he swallowed his smirk, and flew out the opened door of the ship.
Scott hovered outside the window, before knocking on it, the window rolled down, like a car window, which surprised Scott at first. The Green Lantern finally got a look at the High-Chancellor, a fifty something year old, who stood at least 6’4”, had a beakish nose, and wore silver robes. The High-Chancellor wore a giant smirk, as a machine glowed behind him.
“I knew you’d all be foolish enough to confront me. Three years, I’ve been waiting. Finally, you got the nerve, and a whelp knocks on my window. I will not free Thanagar. My slaves are my own. Kranaltine has no right to interfere, but, since you won’t listen, my friend here, Supernova…”
Scott looked beyond the High-Chancellor and saw Supernova. He was old, and had one eye. Scott recognized the costume from somewhere.
“Told me what you had planned, it would’ve worked, too. Until he brought me the means to stop you, Lantern. He brought me a device to steal your ring.”
“Yeahbuhwhat?” Scott Stone asked, looking quizzically at the High-Chancellor. He looked at his ring hand, and found it gone, the machine had done its job as the High-Chancellor bragged. Scott felt like Wile E. Coyote as he dropped down from the 75 story building, thinking only of how much he already hated Thanagar. He looked up, as the ship he had been carried in was blasted.
Suddenly, he felt fear. As a Green Lantern, he knew that was meant to be impossible, but, he also knew that great fear needed to be overcome. He didn’t want them to die. He screwed up. He always did. The only thought he had was he didn’t want to die.
The velocity of the fall slowed, until it finally stopped. His eyes snapped open, and he looked down, he was floating. More than that, he was flying! Like before, when great emotion came to the surface, he was powerful. He only hoped the super-strength worked.
Green ray after green ray blasted at the ship. With amazing speed, Scott found himself soaring up to help those in need. He soon came to the bottom of the ship, and hit it, sure it hurt, but his mission was clear, he out stretched his arms, gripped onto the ship, and flew downwards, before he knew what was happening, he was 20 stories down, and feeling great, better than he ever had before.
He soon landed, with a mighty thud that barely hurt. He put the ship down, and stretched, his back was a little sore, but he was already used to it. Scott smiled as the Rebels exited the ship.
“Good to see you all in one piece.” Scott smiled as he lifted himself off the ground and laughed, “I think the High-Chancellor needs a little bit of social readjusting. He was very rude.” Scott laughed again, thinking of how much the Arachnid had rubbed off on him.
“By yourself?” Aleea Strange asked, “Not a chance, Skot. We tend to look after our own.” Aleea commanded, “A team of four should do the trick. Me, Skot, Andar and Lt. Kroz should go. The rest of you remain here until we get reinforcements.”
“Understood.” Ch’al Andar said, looking to Adam Strange for approval of the plan, “However, I will take charge.”
“Agreed.” Alynna Kroz smiled, the quartet had already formed a circle, but truth be told, they all knew the plan, rush the Chancellor, and see the end result.
“Jeez, I’m going to rush an old man, can we can the rebel bull? We’re rushing a geezer. Let’s get it over and done with.” Scott said, flying off, he knew deep down that this was all an attempt to impress Aleea. Sure, their first meeting was horrible, but she was kind of cute, closer to his age, a lot of things Supergirl wasn’t.
Scott grumbled, no matter what, he always seemed to land himself in some kind of romantic tryst that wouldn’t work out. If it wasn’t Supergirl, it was Aleea. Just once he’d have liked to stop his life from getting so complicated, never mind the fact he’s on an alien planet, or the fact he’s an alien himself, throw that aside and you’ll understand.
Scott found himself facing the Chancellor again, this time, the humble old man was in a robed version of the typical Green Lantern costume, and grinning. Scott willed for the ring to open a little portal to the pocket dimension, and release his cosmic rod.
He grabbed the rod, and firmly grasped it.
“New rules, you have a cosmic weapon, well, I have one too.” Scott grinned. “Surrender the ring, or get a nice big hole through you.”
“You fool; I’ve allied myself with a time criminal. I’ve allied myself with him!” The High Chancellor laughed, floating as he did so, pointing in the distance as a blue, red and white blur closed in fast. Before it struck, it revealed itself, inches away from Scott’s face.
It was Supernova, unmasked proudly, with his one eye piercing Scott’s whole body. His grey hair in a perfect buzz-cut, and his grin wider than the cat who ate the canary.
“Oh…that figures. You’d have to be teamed up with an Earth-3 Supernova…” Scott said, smiling widely, “My Earth-3 me was a jerk.”
“I’m not from Earth-3.” Supernova grunted, “I’m just the natural successor to the Supernova name, and I earned it, punk kid.”
“Universe of Evil?” Scott asked, finding Supernova’s fist connecting with his face. He flew back, into the Chancellor’s quarters. “Ouch. That really hurt.” Scott muttered, his hands started to glow a bright orange color, and twin blasts shot forth. Hitting both the Chancellor and Supernova, who both turned their attentions fully to Scott.
“Leave him alone.” Aleea Strange said, her blaster in hand, while Alynna Kroz and Ch’al Andar floated beside her, their phasers ready to fire. “Now.” Aleea whispered, she aimed her blaster at Supernova, and started shooting.
Likewise Andar and Kroz did the same, firing at both the Chancellor and Supernova. The Chancellor constructed a field to block the blasts. He turned to Scott to find him standing up.
Scott’s hand were still glowing, but weren’t firing off any blasts, and he held the Cosmic rod with pride, his gauntlet was now visible, and he smugly smiled, “Looks like I’ve got a good thing going here.” Scott laughed.

A few minutes away…
“Hey, I think they place with the constant red blasts is it!” The Arachnid laughed, looking to Booster in his Rannian armor.
“Yeah, good. We’ll swoop down and help out.” Booster smiled, the ship they were in, a Class B Thanagarian Fighter swooped down to the conflict. Booster put it on auto-pilot, it would find the other ship, land next to it, and bring the other soldiers transport. Booster being aware of the turn of events thanks to Rip.
Booster grabbed the Arachnid, and exited the ship. His force-field instantly protecting them, and his flight ring carrying him past Aleea and the Thanagarians blasting Supernova, and straight to the Chancellor, blocked only by the field he created.
“Hm. Time to leave, Chancellor.” Supernova laughed, a Time Machine, specifically one Booster recognized belonging to Rex Hunter, appeared, Supernova entered, and it disappeared, reappearing next to the High Chancellor, and taking him in.
The time machine disappeared again, leaving Scott looking at the Arachnid, and the ‘Rannian Soldier’ he’d brought along.
“Mind explaining, Arach?” Scott asked, looking puzzled.
“Not now, later. Like, in ten years, when I understand it.”

The Rannagarian Rebellion Base, Hours Later…
The Arachnid stood in a room next to Booster Gold, who still wore the Rannian armor, save for the helmet, choosing to let Scott know what was going on, though he didn’t understand who was meant to survive.
Scott had gone into the bathroom to put on his brand new costume, made out of a machine that created costumes, well clothes normally, to certain specifications. Scott had decided it best to put together a new costume now that he had lost the ring to the Chancellor.
“So, the Thanagarian spies say that the High Chancellor’s back in his position of power.” The Arachnid said, trying to make small talk.
“Yeah. We need to stop him, or Supernova will have him destroy the natural flow of this time pocket.” Booster said, looking as the bathroom door finally opened.
There stood Scott, his beard was re-growing, nothing more than a few whiskers and a goatee at the moment but, hey, he definitely had the intention to re-grow it. Scott wore a mask, based on his father’s, but in blue, with white lenses, he smiled innocently.
He had a new star-field jacket, this one with a green interior and red stripes coming out on the collar to give an impressive look to him. He continued with his last star symbol, keeping it simple. He wore buccaneer gloves with green tips, one mostly covered by his gauntlet, he had managed to finally figure out how to take it off, and was quite pleased with himself. He now had a blue torso, and his legs covered in white, save the red stripes to highlight it, and he wore blue boots, with a black trim. Last but not least, he grabbed his cosmic rod, and held it like a walking stick, smiling.
“Wow.” The Arachnid said sounding impressed with his constant partner.
“Not too bad, kid. Not too bad at all.” Booster complimented. “You’ll be a great Starman.”
“He already was. This is who he should be.” The Arachnid smiled.
The door opened up, and Aleea Strange, it a bright red and white spandex costume, with blue buccaneer boots and gloves entered, she looked up, and looked…stricked for a moment.
“Prince Skot, the General wants to see you.” She said, hiding an obvious blush from Starman.
“Thank you, Aleea. Guys, I’ll be right back.” Starman said, smiling like a happy child on Christmas as he exited with Aleea.
“It’s always him the girls flock too, never the immature braggart, I don’t get it.” The Arachnid laughed.
“You’re really cut from the same cloth as me, you know? I acted like an immature lout myself, when I actually became myself, well, things looked up. Up until a personal loss.” Booster said, “My best friend died. I left, coped, and became an egotistical jerk. I opened my eyes again, saved the multiverse, and then started time-traveling adventures.”
“You’re saying I should time-travel?” The Arachnid asked, looking like a fool in booster eyes.
“No, I’m saying stop the routine, keep the ego, just bury it a little. Makes it easier on those around you.” Booster laughed.
***
The Meeting Room…
Scott and Aleea rushed to the meeting room, when the doors closed behind them, Scott noticed no-one was waiting for him.
“What’s going on?” Starman asked, looking as Aleea gave him a nice big wet one. “Oh!”
“I know it was stupid to make up that story, but, well, I didn’t want to have to admit I…like you to the Arachnid and the visor guy.” Aleea said, awkwardly moving about, she smiled innocently, “You pulled off the stupidest thing in the worlds, and, you made it work. I have to admit, it was…impressive in a barbaric way.”
“Oh!”
“Aren’t you going to say anything?”
“O—yeah. Yeah, I am. Heh, well, jeez, I kinda like you too, not in a really explainable way…”
“I liked ‘oh’ better.” Aleea smiled, kissing Scott again, soon, the whole night sped forth.
