Bela Lugosi is one of the greatest actors to ever play the role of Dracula and his performances are still influential in how the character is portrayed today. I've watched a good deal of his work but there are still many of his films I haven't watched yet. Some of mine favorites include The Return of the Vampire, Island of Lost Souls, Son of Frankenstein, White Zombie, The Body Snatcher, Mark of the Vampire, The Black Cat (1934), The Devil Bat and The Ghost of Frankenstein.

Vincent Price another of my all time favorite horror movie actors his career was truly spectacular. Few other actors have a presence and charisma on screen like he did. Many of his horror films represent what is truly fun and wonderful about the genre from The Tingler to House of Wax. TCM did this vignette about him narrated by John Waters I thought was really cool.

I've seen Gilda and I've seen The Lady from Shanghai, and they are both great movies that show just how awesome Classic Hollywood is. But my favorite Rita Hayworth movie is Salome. I would LOVE to see it again. Interesting that Rita's purported "replacement" (in Harry Cohn's eyes) was Kim Novak, who sports a look very similar to Rita's in her then-hubby Welles's Lady From Shanghai.

MechaGodzilla, as always these are amazing. Errol Flynn and his unadorned perfection--my God. Almost leaves every other picture here in the shade...and that's saying a lot considering how gorgeous these photos are. Thanks again. There's so much to drink in, but let me throw out some quick thoughts:
Ann-Margret (thanks DupipR!) and Raquel--great images from the swingin' '60s, and both sex symbols went on to have long careers. Would love to see more '60s pics--I used to have some collections of stills, lobby cards, etc., from the late 60s and 70s but I guess I discarded them along the way. I've been scouring eBay to resurrect my collection.
Gina -- lovely, more down-to-earth than Sophia (whom I like too), and during her acting career an underrated actress/comedienne.
Lana--as mentioned, one of my favorites. Interesting career metamorphosis from glamour queen into the later, very popular 1950s "soap opera" films you mentioned.
Gene Kelly and Cyd Charisse-- amazing. They were also incredible (if less showy) in Brigadoon. And has anyone ever looked better in vibrant green than Cyd did?!
Many thanks for the additional Salome pics. I really, really need to see this movie.

I did not know that about Kim Novak - but yet Kim Novak and Rita Hayworth became great friends during the production of Pal Joey of which Rita, Kim, and Frank Sinatra starred in. Thanks for sharing that information.
