Christopher Reeve - Superman 1978 Part 2 of 2My Favorite Scene in that Movie - Lois Lane Rescue Scene via HelicopterI watch this for kicks about 2-3 times a month and never get tired of it. This is a masterful job of special effects back in the 70's and made me believe that a Man can Fly. I just loved this scene. I've own these two Movie Posters at Home and wanted to share these with you. Christopher Reeve just explode on the scene as Superman. You can't find a better actor to play the part of Clark Kent/Superman in this movie. I adore this movie as long I shall live.

Jane Russell
From the Outlaw to Macao to Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, Jane was always a knockout and a terrific actress...

Superman: Good movie, great effects. Christopher Reeve really brought Superman to life. I just wish Luthor (Gene Hackman) had been played less goofy. And that they would have stopped making movies after #2.

Wow--she does indeed look glorious as a redhead. Better than as a brunette, IMHO.

Farrah - I do see resemblance of Gene Hackman in Young Frankenstein in relations of Sam Waterson here. Right? I mean, I know Waterston was around back then and was basically at the beginning of his film career when Hackman was in Young Frankenstein. But the expression, the brows--really reminds me of an older Waterston in his days as the Law and Order bushy-browed/wild-eyed DA! Or maybe Gene knew Waterston and requested or created a look somewhat based on SW (the full brows at least)? Just kidding...but you never know...

Back to Tierney for a minute: MechaGodzilla, those are certainly rare photos, as you stated. They are not even in the 2005 McFarland book on Tierney (by Michelle Vogel). And in the first photo I love the "Gene E. Tierney" sig--GET--Gene Eliza Tierney. Lovely name for a lovely woman.

Audie MurphyOne of my favorite actor that made a successful transition from the Armed Forces to Hollywood without missing a beat; and did quite of few Westerns to boot. He was gifted as what he does and one of the most charming actor around. He was the most decorated World War II Solider and earned every medal that our US Army has to offer. He was amazing man and I admired him from the get go. When he just started Acting. He went from Private to Major (US Army Reserves) in a short span in his stint in World War II and Beyond.

Another favourite of mine, John Garfield: I became a fan while seeing a few of his movies on a tiny black and white tv in the early 80s during a John Garfield movie week on CBC where they broadcast one of his films late every night. I particularly remember Four Daughters, in which his role must have been one of the earliest of what soon became a Hollywood cliché - the rebellious, troubled young man with a heart of gold. And of course he went on to many more famous parts - Body and Soul, They Made Me a Criminal, etc, etc.

One of his best movies IMO was The Postman Always Rings Twice, which also includes one of Lana Turner's most effective performances too. You know, she's someone who had what I call a "comic book face" in that her visage--in stills at least--looks like it could have been drawn by, say, Romita Sr. or even Sinnott--ovalish face, defined cheekbones, and very even, defined features (yes, I know she drew her brows on). take a look at her in some stills from Green Dolphin Street for example; she wears a snood in that so you can really see her facial structure and even features.
