Alternative choices, some instrumental, some not, some well-known, others less so... but ones I whistle to this day.

Holy Crap!! I used to watch Daniel Boone in syndicated reruns every day. This would have been before I started school. I loved that show.

As I said, if I were doing intros then Wild, Wild West would definitely be there. And Number one (and in the second half of the top ten for music) would be
The Rockford Files.
The answering machine gag was brilliant. And I've watched a large portion of the show on Netflix and it holds up really well after all these years.
Also a big fan of Quincy Jones' theme for Sanford & Son.

Top Five MEGO 8" Action Figures - Marvel Comics
5. The Lizard - A faithful rendering, with plenty of scaly textures, Doc Connors' alter-ego is cool and menacing. A flexible, cloth tail makes an excellent offensive weapon:
4. The Hulk - Simple and timeless, the Hulk comes with his trademark purple trousers (an oddly common sartorial choice for green-skinned characters) and two clenched fists ready to smash. A terrific head sculpt shows he means business:
3. Thor - Sporting a grim, chiseled visage coupled with perpetually summer-blond locks that would make Farrah Fawcett jealous, the Thunder God has never looked better. Accessorized with helmet, boots, wrist-bands, and mighty Mjolnir, Thor is ready to "make it rain!"
2. The Falcon - Shattering the color barrier in this faithful rendition of his most popular look, Sam Wilson absolutely owns it as the high-flying Falcon! Cloth "wings" and flexible "talon" boots complete this killer ensemble. The absence of Redwing keeps him from the #1 spot:
1. The Green Goblin - The only character in MEGO's super-hero line who was actually deceased at the time of initial production, this figure shows that you can't keep a good goblin down. A perfect, stunning design from top to bottom, the Goblin's countenance registers just the right quantities of mischief and menace. His only accessories are his curve-toed boots and bag of tricks, but even without his Goblin Glider, he manages to turn every head:

Top Five MEGO 8" Action Figures - DC Comics
5. Supergirl - The most successful of MEGO's many attempts at a female comic book action figure, Supergirl appears in a close approximation of her early-70s outfit. Oddly, her legs are covered in flesh-colored cloth rather than bare, as Robin's were. Still, the Girl of Steel is well-represented here. Overcoming a billboard-sized forehead, her daring scoop-necked blouse emblazoned with the iconic S-emblem suggests this heroine is more woman than girl!
4. Aquaman - Despite the atrocious "oven-mitt" gloves which plagued several DC characters in the MEGO line (and kept them off this list), the King of the Sea still manages to appear regal thanks to a great head sculpt and pleasing color scheme. The suggestion of an "A" on his belt, as well as the fins on the backs of his legs (not visible in photo) were also a nice touch.
3. Superman - Resplendent in primary colors, The Man of Steel benefits from a cape design that allows it to billow out from his broad shoulders and "catch the wind" as he soars through the air. Another winning head sculpt, Superman appears confident and powerful. His iconic chest emblem, though only a sticker, draws the eye and holds it there.
2. SHAZAM! - Forced to adopt the name of an old wizard due to legal shenanigans, the original Captain Marvel nevertheless comes correct with this electrifying red-and-gold ensemble that highlights his sartorial wisdom, as well as his strength and speed. His head sculpt and cape design are unique to this figure. Shazam, indeed!
1. Green Arrow - The Emerald Archer takes our top spot due to a combination of a unique, faithful head sculpt, cool and appropriate accessories, and a keenly detailed head-to-toe design. Ollie's face is beautifully composed, and any slight change to the position of his cap can greatly alter his expression. He's further accessorized by his bow and quiver, while green cuffs and green-painted hands cleverly allow him to avoid the "oven mitts," which would have made it impossible to wield the bow. Hubba-hubba!

Top Albums That Make You FEEL Something: ...RageMetallica: ...And Justice For All I've spent most of my life trying to manage and dismantle my rage, but back when I was an angsty teen and still wanted to get more in touch with it, this was the way. Ah, Supermans favourite Metallica album.

Phil Maurice thanks for posting those 10 pictures - so cool to see them! It was a genuine pleasure. Though I still collect MEGOs, I avoid handling them. They once fit perfectly into my adolescent hands, as they were designed to; but when I picked one up as an adult, the fit was no longer there. The more I shifted it around in my huge, clumsy mitts, the more awkward and unwieldy it became and I was struck with a great sense of loss. My toys still wanted to play, but I, a freakish giant, was unable to properly participate.
I tried to get my daughters interested, but. . .yeah. Not so much.

I seriously wanted to buy a Captain Action figure like I used to have when I was a kid. They were awesome , but I don't want to see what they are going for these days. Captain Action pre-dates me by a few years. Like the G.I. Joe Adventure Team line, you bought a base figure and then "accessorized" to suit your preferences. It gets expensive when you begin to look for accessories that have never been removed from their cards, now nearly 50 years old. My advice: pick one that you absolutely MUST have (assuming you MUST have it) and laser-focus on it until you bring it home. It will take some time, but. . .thrill of the hunt and all that, y'know?

My brother and I used to have Captain Action, Action Boy, The Action Car that floated in the bathtub and various costumes. I think we had Lone Ranger, Batman , Aquaman, Spider-man, Aqua-lad and Captain America . Those were the days.

Gulp* I just saw the original Captain Action figures going for 99-2000 dollars. Don't despair, Icc. It took 26 years for me to get these guys together in the same room: Hang in there and take inspiration from a bottomless Robin high-fiving a topless Pulsar, the Ultimate Man of Action :
