Does it count as a purchase if it was free? Comixology had Sensation Comics #1 for free, so I got to read about the continuing origin of Wonder Woman!

Sensation #1 is such a CRAZEE comic book. (I have a Millennium reprint.) Wonder Woman, Wildcat, Mr. Terrific. The Gay Ghost!
(Does the Comixology version have the whole thing or just the WW story?)

I got Tales of the Demon in original colours. Not exactly original but at least not the cruddy new Neal Adams job. I also got that Dr Strange issue with the giant floating skull in space on the cover and a Green Arrow O'Neal issue when he teams up with Indians - cheap back issue finds, they happen rarely in Australia.

Essential Fantastic Four, Volume 6, reprinting FF #111 to #137
Essential Spider-Man, Volume 7, reprinting Spider-Man #138 to #160
Superman Chronicles, Volume 2, reprinting Action #14 to #20 and Superman #2 and #3
I also have Wonder Woman: Contagion, but I haven't read it yet.

I've been reading: Essential Spider-Man, Volume 7, reprinting Spider-Man #138 to #160 Unforgettable stuff from when I was just getting into Spider-Man and could not get enough. Gerry Conway and Ross Andru, the Shocker, Scorpion, the Gwen clone, Jackyl, and the Tarantula! Takes me right back to my grandma's porch swing, drinking A&W, chewing on a Marathon bar, and reading Spidey.

Gerry Conway and Ross Andru, the Shocker, Scorpion, the Gwen clone, Jackyl, and the Tarantula! Takes me right back to my grandma's porch swing, drinking A&W, chewing on a Marathon bar, and reading Spidey. My first issue of Spider-Man was, I think, #152 and I didn't miss an issue until ... maybe around #260? Over the years, I've read (from this batch of #138 to #151) #139, #141, #143, #149 and #150. So it's nice to, finally, read all the issues from the era right before I started reading comics.
(I just finished the previous Essential Spider-Man, with #114 to #137, a couple of weeks ago. It's amazing to read the month-to-month adventures of Peter Parker during the period when Gwen and the Goblin died, Harry went mad and became the Goblin, the Jackal appeared, the Hammerhead/Doc Ock rivalry was going on, the Punisher made his earliest sporadic appearances, Liz Allan and the Molten Man both returned, etc., etc.)
My grandma did not have a front-porch swing but she did have an enclosed back porch. And I definitely remember those Marathon bars and the A & W root beers.

Jackal, not Jackyl as I wrote (Jackyl is a metal band from Georgia, I think). My bad.
Yes to everything that you said. That era of Spider-Man seemed so rich and colorful to me as a young reader, with characters and stories blending seamlessly into each other month after month, each seemingly more exciting than the last. I would become so overstimulated reading these that I pity my poor mother trying to put me to bed at night (I'm sure the soda and candy didn't help.)

Timespirits 5 Batman Sword of Azrael DC Silver Edition 2 Criminal 5 (finishes my run of this series) RASL 12 The Goon 29, 32 Tales of the Teen Titans 89 (newsstand!) Incredible Hulk 33/507 (100-page monster) Dark Horse Presents 12, 16 (1980s–90s series) Echo 4, 17 Keith Laumer's Retief 5 (Adventure Comics) Legionnaires 13 (newsstand) Uncanny X-Men 297, 406 (newsstand) Donald Duck Adventures 10 (Gladstone, newsstand) Aria Blanc et Noir 2 Marvel Age 59, 60, 62, 72, 93 Who's Who in the DC Universe (looseleaf) 1, 2, 4 Legion of Super-Heroes 2, 3 (2011–2013 newsstand) 100 Greatest Marvels of All Time 25–22, 21–18, 17–14, 13–10, 9–6 (completes my run)
The great thing is, thanks to a sale at a chain of shops, I got these for 25¢–50¢ apiece. And the chain is having another sale this weekend, for FCBD!
Gee, I think this was my first "haul" post!

That's pretty sweet for bargain bin? Not bad, yeah. But during some of this same chain's past sales, I have purchased two hundred comics in a weekend, mostly at 25¢ or 50¢ a book, with the occasional stunning value (e.g., Secret Wars 8 NM newsstand!, Little Archie 59 VF first Little Sabrina, et plura al.). I had higher expectations.

Not exactly a back issue per se, but I just bought the first volume of the Sabrina the Teenage Witch manga collection.
Usually I much prefer to buy the original comics instead of TPB collections. But looking into it, I discovered that the original issues of the Sabrina manga comic are apparently very, very hard to find, even though they aren't worth anything. Example? Of the 45 or so issues the manga version lasted (Sabrina vol. 3 #56-100), mycomicsshop - the biggest online back issue vendor - has only 8 in stock.
So rather than spend the next decade trying to find it, I figured I'd just read it first.
In terms of actual comics, I also just received a beat up copy of Patsy Walker #113 I got off ebay for $1.99 shipped.

I didn't see the latest , greatest back issue purchase thread back on her. I rolled through 2 pages. If I missed it someone can merge it with that. But the past week I found some pretty solid , cheap back issues. Generation X Collector's Preview #1 (from 1994 its a preview of Gen X series) DC Masterworks Series #2 (Features art of Frank Frazetta) Alien Worlds #1 (Pacific Comics) Blue Ribbon Comics #4 (Archie ...1982) Iron Man #229 , #230 Iron Man Annual #8 Excalibur #86 (1st appearance of Peter Wisdom) Batman #612 (I have the variant sketch cover so I wanted this regular issue) My big 3...though are the following ones. Amazing Spider-Man #51 (2nd appearance of Kingpin , 1st appearance of Robbie Robertson) Defenders #10 Batman #234 (1st Silver Age Two-Face) 234 Is an upgrade copy for me folks .

Sorry my eyes must have missed it. A mod can merge it then . I was looking but I guess I was half asleep when I looked.
