Hadn't listened to Floyd in a long while (was semi-obsessed with Floyd from sophomore year of high school through sophomore year at university) but on a lark played the 50 great Pink Floyd songs playlist on Amazon music last night and I have been reliving a lot of old Floyd memories. Some songs still seem to speak to current affairs though, like this one...
maybe not the Russian bear, maybe the Swedes...

Loaded up Spotify for the first time in a while, flipped through my "discover weekly" and landed on 808 State (Had heard their "Pacific 202" on GTA San Andreas' SF-UR station). Listened to their first and second albums, really like their stuff.
Currently listening to "State To State" now, almost kind of sounds like a Depeche Mode or New Order song

Love these guys, really wish they tour UK at some point or release a new album. Been working on new music with it 'coming soon' for like three years lol

Benjamin Wallfisch and Hans Zimmer's soundtrack for Blade Runner 2049.
(I purchased it in early December and it hasn't gotten old yet).
Atmospheric as all get-out, with a great use of dissonance and booming bass, it's perfect background music when I mark exams.

Awesome! I love it. Apparently that guy sued Boy George back in the day for stealing his "look". Anyway, I've been listening to a lot of Yaz (Yazoo for you Brits) the past couple of days.

Thinking about Steve Howe today for some reason, which led me to listen to some of his amazing acoustic work:
And, a little something just as awesome recorded 25 years later:

Oh, and if those are too long, here's a shorter bit which shows just why he's so awesome (poorer quality audio/video, though):
