First single by Joshua Hedley who has been a well-regarded sideman and has been leading his band in Nashville for a good while. Great retro early 60s feel. Right when honky-tonk started moving into countrypolitan. I've been listening to this one a lot.

Michel Pagliaro: heard/saw him live for the first time in my life in a very small venue just last week - an intimate acoustic concert with one other guitar player/harmony vocalist. I don't know how well-known Pagliaro is outside Canada, but I was as excited to finally get to hear and see him perform live as I would be for almost any other musician I can think of. A lot of it is nostalgia, for sure - I grew up with his songs on the radio and loved them all: he's a French guy from Quebec but had several English-language hits as well. Here are probably his three biggest hits, each one a pop classic:
I only came to know a few of the francophone songs many years later when I found a 2-cd best-of package in the mid-90s, but some of those have become favourites as well M'lady, Ti-bidon, J'entends frapper, .... It was a really cool show with a lot of interaction between performer and audience. He switched back and forth between English and French pretty freely, in response to the audience - I think I was one of the few more or less uni-lingual people there so I missed some of the French due to my poor grasp of the language, but would have been just as happy if he hadn't spoken any English at all. Great show, one of the best I've ever been lucky enough to attend.

I just love this song by Biffy Clyro. (Not too sure about the video, but the music is just great).

It's been years since I've seen Nikita and don't remember the end credits now.

It's been years since I've seen Nikita and don't remember the end credits now. The dark side of time, written with composer Eric Serra. (I’m not sure it’s Pag who actually sings it, but it’s a pretty catchy theme song).

Been rotating between a couple CD's while I drive... First is a Tragically Hip greatest hits called Yer Favourites. If anyone on here has never heard of them, please go to Youtube or click below. I know they tend to not get much recognition south of the border but to me are the definition of Canadian music. Their lead singer, Gord Downie, has been a pioneer for first nations peoples and their rights. He passed away last year after a battle with a brain tumour. He partnered with Jeff Lemire and produced the graphic novel, Secret Path. An album was produced to go along with it. Very moving stuff. The link below outlines it more for those who have never heard of him or this project. secretpath.ca/The other CD is the a Beastie Boys greatest hits. I love me some Beastie Boys

This song has been stuck in my head for DAYS. I'm posting it here in hope of exorcising it from my brain.
