Looks like the only one I bought off the newsstand was Marvel Team-Up #69. Very small month.
On a side note there were 8 Richie Rich books.

This was my lone comic of the month; but, man, I really wanted to read these two... It would have to wait a while. The wait was worth it!

Including Karate Kid Vol.1 #1-3 and " The Girl Behind the Glass!", which is the story that I actually remember. From the main character I only recall the cover. Including The Incredible Hulk Vol.1 #151-3. The trial of the Hulk; that I haven't forget.

Possibly three off the racks this month. Definitely Marvel Team-Up 70. Still love that cover. Probably Laff-a-Lympics 4. I bought very few bigfoot comics off the rack. But I know I had this one. I was a fan of the show. Maybe...Spectacular Spider-Man 19. I can't remember if I got it off the rack or from a yard sale.

I was starting to visit a comic shop regularly (B&R Comix Center in the shadow of the Bevo Mill) and the books were coming out about three weeks sooner than my subscription copies were coming in the mail. They had a very strict "no reading" policy (you weren't allowed to spend more than 5 minutes looking at books) so i bought a copy of X-Men and got the same book in the mail three weeks later. This went on for several months so i ended up having a dual run for a while. Next year i cutup the books for a collage. *sigh* This was probably my last year for subscriptions, since i could get the books sooner.

In April, 1978, I bought: All-Star Comics #73: I loved the JSA, so I was faithful to this Earth-2 revival, but I've got to admit I didn't care for Joe Staton and Joe Giella's work here. Brave & Bold #142: Always enjoyed when Aparo got to revisit one of his old regulars in B&B...this time, Aquaman. DC Comics Presents #1: I was ready to give Superman's answer to B&B a chance, teaming here with the Flash. Defenders #61: I never gave up on this title, but I didn't really dig Lunatik, who appeared here with Spider-Man. Detective Comics #478: Wow...Clayface III, as Len Wein takes over the scripting. Great contribution to Batman's roster of villains. Freedom Fighters #15: The JLA yearly team-ups with the JSA had primed me to love Golden Age revivals, so I stuck with the FF, despite disappointment with the actual title. This was surely one of the least graceful super-teams ever assembled. Godzilla #12: Man, I loved this book! Moench and Trimpe put together a nice little saga of the King of the Monsters' trip across America. Howard the Duck #26: This was getting tiresome, but I stuck it out to the bitter end. Human Fly #11: I don't know why I stuck with this turkey to the bitter end, but I did. Return of the New Gods #19: I think it was beginning to dawn on me that I didn't care for Gerry Conway's writing. I hadn't developed nearly the same sense of criticism for the scripts that I had for art. Showcase #102: This wasn't enough to turn me into a Hawkman fan--that would come later--but I was willing to give this a shot. Murphy Anderson's inks probably saved the book from Al Milgrom's typically pedestrian pencils, but I don't remember anything specifically about the art. Tomb of Dracula #65: One of the few comics series that never ever let me down.
All in all, a slim month by my standards. Comics were in danger of losing me, but it didn't quite happen...but my purchases would be a lot fewer over the coming year.
