I only had time to take a cursory look at it, but it certainly seems interesting and exhaustive. I'll definitely take a closer look when I get the chance.

I'm not terribly familiar with Dr Strange (much to my own chagrin), but I'm definitely bookmarking that page.

I remember cat as a prolific comics letterpage writer, having a long running news column in The Buyers Guide and being an editor of Eclipse Comics while married to its owner.I wondered what became of her and will definitly check out that link. Thanks

As it happens, she popped up in a book I was reading just a couple days ago, Occult America, in a mention as an expert on hoodoo or some such. My impression over the years is that she's quite intelligent as far as utter nutjobs go.

It's interesting how many people corresponded in letters pages before getting a career in comics. I know Wendy and Richard Pini met and eventually married through the letters column of (I think) Silver Surfer. I know a guy on the CGC forum who bought a stack of random small press fanzines and found significant contributions from a fourteen year old Frank Miller. Letters pages seem to be the discussion forum of the day, I wonder how many people on our comic book discussion forums will later be well known figures in comics?

I'd seen letters from cat yronwode in many comics in the 70s, but somehow it took decades for me to figure out that her last name is pronounced "ironwood".
I also recognize her partner Tyagi Nagasiva from the old alt.pagan newsgroup.

Quite a few people who hung out at Warren Ellis' forum around the turn of the millenium eventually became pros, like Matt Fraction, Antony Johnson, Brian Wood.

Gail Simone was around the web forums before landing a job as well. It still happens. That kind of thing is really interesting to me. I imagine it's the same with music related web forums, sooner or later one of those guys is going to be at the Grammy's. And any fan/entertainment forum probably.

I distinctly remember reading some Dave Cockrum letters in early issues of the FF.
I think I've read through the Lesser Book of the Vishanti before. I'm a big Doctor Strange fan and I used to have several fansites bookmarked. I remember one fansite that had a nice background with thunder, rain and lighting effects seen partially through the familiar skylight symbol of Strange's Sanctum. I think it's long gone now, but it was a good one.

Another big Dr. Strange fan here. I too remember Cat Yronwode from various letters pages - MoKF, I believe, among others. Thanks for the link, will certainly give it a look.
