I'm really intrigued to see what indy spin offs you guys have.... I really couldn't think of much on that score, other than stuff like TMNT one shots off the main book (things like that) which I ultimately discarded since it's really the main book I like. Also, the spin offs you choose need to have lasted for at least three issues, so one-shots wouldn't count. One could argue that the 'micro-series' of one shots WAS a series

You could argue but you would lose.

But he spun out of Thimble Theater into his very own funnybook. Fine. I'm down to an equivocal Eleven. If it's any comfort, I was pluggin' for you... for exactly that reason.

Life has been kicking my butt recently. I've started a list; I have five so far.

I was thinking about Nic Fury, I absolutely think that Agents of shield is a spin off. It’s a new concept and should be eligible.

Does that mean Space Usagi is eligible?

I made a couple of tweaks to my list this morning, so my count by publisher given before is no longer correct. I realized I like a couple that wound up on my near misses list more than a couple I actually included.

An interesting, and not at all unpleasant, by-product - or perhaps side-effect would be a better term - of this year's event is that when I picked up some of these series to flip through them, I ended up sitting down and simply re-reading them. That happened for about half of my entries.

True! I just finished re-reading tomorrow's entry for the first time in 20 years and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

I gotta say I'm really impressed with the variety of picks so far. I don't think we've ever had so many non-Big Two selections before.
Cei-U! Keep it up!

With the exception of my number 1 pick, the rest of mine are independent. Also some amazing choices from everyone

I found a gap in my list when I realized one of my picks didn't really qualify (the lead was a legacy character following a character who did originate in another title, but the lead of the comic made his debut in his own title. It turned out to be fortuitous, because I thought of a non-Big Two feature that really, really belonged on my list (one that hasn't shown up in anyone's list thus far).
