If I could email or PM you some of my hydrocodone, I would. Until last year, when as I've mentioned before they seemingly vanished off the face of the earth, I still had tablets from my post-wisdom-tooth-extraction (IIRC) prescription from nearly a decade ago, so I'm not exactly addicted & gobbling them like M&M's. i got 300mg acetaminophen pills to take but I hardly take them. I can take up to 3 a day by the docs orders but had only taken one so far last night, when I woke up in a jolt from a nightmare. I've not had good reactions to most pain pills but the doc said these are pretty harmless and I believe anything a pretty woman says. That's why she's my go to doc.

My wisdom teeth extraction was the WORST experience of my LIFE. I had gotten FIVE dry socket infections, and withstood unbelievable pain from them having to reopen the sites, before my regular doctor was able to diagnose me with an actual staph infection and was able to give me antibiotics that would take care of it. This was also when I developed an AWFUL allergic reaction to penicillin. I had no ill effects from my wisdom tooth extractions (two, I believe, a few years part, & not starting till I approached 50) or my root canals (also, I think, two), except for the prescription painkiller (can't remember the name; wish I could, for obvious reasons) I was given after the first of the latter, back in the summer of '94. Didn't really need it, but just for the hell of it I took one, & before long I was itching horribly all over. Discovered I was allergic to penicillin when I was given it while recovering from mono at age 19. While I was at Rock*Kon in Little Rock, I suddenly found myself covered head to toe with itching red spots. At least, the presumption was that I'm allergic -- was nowhere near my doctor, & by the time I got back home to Magnolia the episode was over. From what he said, penicillin was probably the culprit, but there was a slight chance the rash could've been a consquence of the mono instead. (Which was already behaving atypically with me. Most people sleep & sleep & sleep when they have it; I, of course, had insomnia for days on end instead. In fact, when I first went to the doctor's young partner, I was misdiagnosed with depression & put Elavil.)

Good afternoon.
And I am thoroughly dismayed that this is the most explosive thread of the weekend.
Incidentally, for our fellow posters not in this time zone, good evening!

Well, now, good evening fellow CCFers.
Sorry I didn't see this sooner.
I'm a night person by nature, along with my wife. Ideally if we could go to sleep when we like, it would be 3 or so in the morning and up around noon. Sadly, the Day People have set the precedent for the rest of us to have to get in tune with.
Got up at 8 to let the pups out and back to bed til 11:30.
Should be taking my state life and health insurance exams this week. After that it's getting back into rhythm with the Day People again. That's why I have to take Ambien.
I predict some day the world will be divided into Night and Day People and we'll have a 24 hour society. Probably won't happen in my lifetime, but I wish it would.

I've said before & will say again that I'm a night person with a daytime office schedule. *sigh* Pretty much my ideal job, especially from that point of view, was when I was night city editor in Little Rock -- came in around 3 p.m., left fairly soon after midnight on a routine day & no later that 1:30ish no matter what, considering when the presses absolutely, positively had to run.
Generally went to bed around, I guess, 4-5 a.m. & got up around noon, walked my dogs, puttered around, went for a run of 1 to 3 miles (depending on time more than anything) at the park a couple of miles from my house, came back, showered, went to work. Rinse & repeated for roughly 8 years, pretty much, except for some disruption when I was weekend editor for a year or so & had to work days on Saturday & Sunday, though in those instances I didn't have to come in till around 10:30 & noonish, respectively.
Not many jobs like that out there, though, at least in the places where I've found myself. So it goes.
And of course as I've complained before, Ambien has about as much effect on me as lemon drops, & for quite awhile there I was having hideous sleep problems. Glad it works for you, though, hondo.

When will then be now and when can I post in this thread and not be off topic...inquiring minds want to know...my definition of morning is just after I wake up no matter what time the clock says...

There will come a day when technology will advance to the point that we can lock this thread during non-morning hours by time zone. Until then we are truly a backwards civilization unworthy of joining the Federation Of Advanced Species
