I've been trying to think of two actors whose careers were at their prime during the same era, or at least over-lapped a bit, and this one is so obvious that I can't believe it wasn't the first one I thought of.

So my initial choice went with a 60s vibe. So let's try some 70s and 80s vibes now.
70's: Marla Gibbs as Hortense and Harvey Korman as Rudolph
80's: Whoopi Goldberg as Hortense and Robin Williams as Rudolph
or if you want to go feature with a more serious/weird vibe in that 80s-90s period, go with:
Lisa Bonet as Hortense and Mickey Rourke as Rudolph.
