Colan is in my top 4, maybe top 3 artists. So this is hard. I'll just go with this one, among my favorite.

The same magic every woman has over a man. They made a whole song about it.

The Beyond #18 from Ace Magazines, January 1953. This is one of the earliest covers that is definitely Gene's work, pencils and inks. He did another January 1953 cover, a war comic for St. John, but I like this one more. The GCD has a 1948 cover tentatively identified as Colan pencils with Vince Alascia inking, but that's just one art-spotter's opinion. This cover's original art was sold on eBay with Gene's signature. And for good measure, there's a red dress! Edit: I've just found that the GCD's cover search is not working as expected. They're in the process of migrating to linked credits and the migrated ones don't show up in the Advanced Search results. So Gene did a few more covers in 1948-1952.

I remember very clearly reading Daredevil #47 as a kid when it came out: one of the comics that solidified the Black Panther as a favourite character for me back then, along with his appearances in the FF and the Avengers. And having him team up with DD, another favourite, was a bonus.

Yeah, I fondly recall the story in DD #47 from the Son of Origins book, and T'Challa definitely does not appear in it.

Yes, it was #69 I was thinking of. No idea why I thought it was #47, when the Panther wasn't even on the cover - so much for "very clearly"!
