#4- The Ghostly TrioThe Ghostly Trio were one of those villains as a little kid that I always liked. The first comics I got as a kid were mostly Harvey books. Richie Rich really didn't have a pure antagonist but Casper's uncles were good enough to be a burr in Casper's transparent saddle. Fatso, Fuzzo and Lazo always wanted Casper to follow in their footsteps to be mean and scare humans. While their intentions were good Casper wanted to be friends with everyone. Introduced in the cartoon series, the trio then came into the comics and became foils for Casper with the occasional niceness but mainly to taunt Casper into being their personal assistant. Fatso is the leader while Fuzzo (the normal looking ghost) and Lazo (the tall thin ghost) were dealt out orders to spook and scare anything. This is a pure childhood nostalgia selection. I do like them in all incarnations, even the live action films where they really shined and made the Casper film a fun family watch. Fantastic selection and excellent write-up Back when I first started reading comics my preferred Harveys were Wendy the Good Little Witch and Wendy's Witch World, so I was considering the Witch Sisters for my list, but they got squeezed out

4. The Triumvirate of Terror4. Batroc's BrigadeWhat can I say, I love Batroc. And I love that he keeps bringing in other supervillains to try and help him beat Captain America, and they always faceplant. My favorite version is Batroc, Zaran, and Machete, because they are total chuckleheads who enjoy bagging on each other as much -- or more -- than actually fighting or doing crime. Just a really dysfunctional group of tools who stick together through some weird bromance. It's great.

4 . Frightful Four - original team, as seen in Fantastic Four #36, 38, 41, 42, 43, 94 and Marvel Super-Heroes #15 The Fantastic Four's answer to the X-Men's Brotherhood of Evil Mutants! Like many others here, I love the Frightful Four; they added something besides plain villainy to the FF book, they were very entertaining. Plus there were their color-coordinated yet individual ensembles; their sartorial choices made the FF look bland and dull. And after Sue chose Reed over Namor, it was the Frightful Four who provided the continuing thread over several issues, even when they didn't actually appear their impact was still felt. Evidently you can't keep a good team down. There was a short-lived reunion in Marvel Super-Heroes #15, which didn't end happily; but despite that in FF #94 the old gang tries once more and is (seemingly) reunited. I get such a kick our of Trapster's goofy expression here and his proud if clueless assertion that Medusa "came a'runnin'! " Addendum:I just read FF #177 a few years ago and I see that the group is still trying to fill MVP Medusa's slot on the roster . {Spoiler: Click to show}

They didn't quite make my list, but I liked the Frightful Four when they were only three and had a recruitment drive!
