I have one of these. Honestly this has been pretty hard. It's been a long time since I've read much in the way of superhero books. I've come up with 11, but it's been a hard time. I'm sure you'll find a 12th. Also, I look forward to your recaps! I always seem to run out of steam the last few days, but thank you. Apparently they have also become a tradition. |

I know poor Kurt is sick, but I'm struggling with a few things -- what about criminal families, alien races, inter-dimensional creatures, enemy races or countries, supernatural entities, etc? Villains that didn't team up per se but are inherently evil or the main antagonists of a series? I suppose what I'm asking is whether the emphasis is on teams or groups.

I know poor Kurt is sick, but I'm struggling with a few things -- what about criminal families, alien races, inter-dimensional creatures, enemy races or countries, supernatural entities, etc? Villains that didn't team up per se but are inherently evil or the main antagonists of a series? I suppose what I'm asking is whether the emphasis is on teams or groups. As I understand it, the matter comes down to whether there are distinct individual baddies joining forces. Two or three distinct family members with their own identities should work, whereas say The Beagle Boys would not. And they should be working together in some fashion. I suppose they could work together inadvertently/unknowingly so long as you can explain why that arrangement impressed you. Sorry. I don't presume to be Kurt, but I also know he's not up to his usual snuff right now, so I'm hoping to save him some work here. |

I didn't think they'd count on their own...but there was a story I loved that had them team up with another villain that shall go unnamed that allowed me to get them on my list so it's good to know my love for them won't be lonely. I had a hard time with this list as I don't tend to like the big villain team up stories but I did manage to cobble together 12. Four choices came from DC, one from Marvel, four from Darkhorse, two from Disney, and one from Archie/Mirage. |
