those warlock tiles make a nice picture, but seem a bit impractical for actual play.

those warlock tiles make a nice picture, but seem a bit impractical for actual play. it all depends on your style of play. There is a segment of groups now that like to play on room sized dioramas essentially and at some conventions I have seen dungeon set ups that take up as many as 4-6 of the 6 foot folding tables that are ubiquitous at conventions. Those that use them, like to buy enough that they have several "rooms" or encounters set up in advance to bring out when players reach that spot on the map (Critical role does this in later seasons which has been a big influence on the growth of this style of play, but CR uses Dwarven Forge, not Warlock Tiles). I agree with you though and find using them to make rooms and large settings to be impractical-I tried it about 15-18 years ago with Wiz Kids first attempt at this type of product called Dungeon Tiles, and just wasn't into it. I did however like all the dungeon decor pieces, like doors, columns, stairs, etc. to use to spice up the battlemat and give a 3-D quality to it to help players visualize things better and think in three dimensions, not two. -M

A Father's Day gift from my 31 yr-old son (and my comic collecting buddy)--
He knew that I was looking for a decent copy of Weird War Tales #1, and lo and behold, he gave me a very nice copy last night! Also, although they are not in the "classic" category, he also gave me the first three issues of a new title that he thought I would enjoy, "Geiger".
I have those first 3 issues of Geiger but haven't read a one. My reading is disappearing these days...

yeah, the accessories are cool, and I can definitely see a use for those.. though 2 much 3-d stuff makes it so you can't see what's going on when you're sitting around the table.

Ever seen this kind of setup? Seems like a really good idea, and there's lots of software available to drive it, and it's infinitely customizable with no 3d stuff to block your line of sight. Not as expensive to build as you might think. I don't play tabletop games, per se, but had to do a lot of research on this kind of thing for my job (in video games).

Not in person, but my gamer group was definitely thinking about doing something like that... seems alot better than unrolling maps for sure, and you can make it automatically hide/show stuff as needed.

Got a nice ebay lot of about 1/3 of the Kamandi series (23 issues, including rather beat up copies of #1 and #2)... was very lucky... I had got outbid at the last minute (went for $51 or so), but the buyer apparently didn't pay, so it was re-listed... so I got the 2nd time around for $33. Very excited!

Been waiting on this one---and it just arrived this morning... a drop-dead gorgeous copy of Batman #237-- in the raw! It's incredibly difficult to find an ungraded copy in this condition these days.

I like hearing stories like this.
The other buyer must have been a real A**H***...
Sounds like a real bargain to me.

Yeah, there were a ton of bidders on it too (around 40 the first go round)... alot fewer the 2nd time. I'm hoping I can fill in a bit locally, but I'll probably just read what I got first... I really enjoyed the first two... doesn't make a whole lot of logical sense, but the ideas just pour out of it... super fun!

#29 is the one to have. It has a cover of Kamandi and an ape fighting over Superman’s costume.
