I bought issues #6 and #7 of Pacific's Vanguard Illustrated comic the other day, which completes my run on this somewhat patchy anthology title.

Yesterday was the first day of the Tampa Bay Comic Con -- and I spent way more money than I anticipated... Here's the only comic that I purchased, after an hour of haggling: That leaves just four more issues for a full run of ASM -- 1, 3, 4, 8 & Annual 1. It's all a bit surreal being just a few issues away. Peace, Tom

Sweet ASM issues killerbass! Very jealous but happy that you are finishing your run! Picked up these for $8 and 7$ respectively. Mid grade, maybe a little better. I really wanted the #96 because I love the cover. I think $7 was very reasonable so I could not say no to that.

(If it makes you feel any better, sometimes I look at the people who collect many different things and wish I wasn't so anal about finishing off the Amazing run...) I love those old Avengers issues -- I almost decided to collect those after I finish my Amazing run. But I picked Daredevil instead. Peace, Tom

Well if I had stuck with Spidey (pun intended?) and collected ASM strictly, I probably would have some more keys. But I'm proud of having #85-400 minus a few of the higher priced issues like 121 an 129. I just wanted to expand and read any key issues, series or runs and also love to go after covers and art I love. And I looove me some Neal Adams

I stopped at a yard sale today and discovered that the guy had close to 4 long boxes of stuff from about 1986-1991 he was selling. The price was 25 cents each. I ended up with a big box of stuff - 73 issues for $18. First out of the box: final arc and final issue of Justice League of America Next out of the box: first three issues of the Kupperberg/Mignola Phantom Stranger LS, plus the famous multiple origins of Stranger issue of Secret Origins Next up: A batch of random stuff worth more than a quarter. Winter World has been optioned for a TV series; 1st Archangel, though in low grade; and the infamous issue where Superman executes the Phantom Zone criminals. Next out of the box: Something you'll probably recognize. #405 was missing unfortunately. This next batch I'm putting behind a spoiler tag because the image is much bigger (though the forums seem to be shrinking it to size - but better safe than sorry). The books are random, but they share one weird quality - they are very late era newsstand copies with date stamps on them. You don't see date stamps from 1985 and even 1987 very often! A run I've always wanted to try - it's Suicide Squad #1-3 and #5-15! And here's the money shot: 43 issues from George Perez's Wonder Woman run! That's the 1989 Annual and 42 of the 50 issues from #1-50, all for a quarter each:

Besides the yard sale, I also did some antiquing and hit a flea market. Not as much to show, but I did get a couple things. This comic cost me $2: And these set me back $5 for the pair:

Nice pick ups Scott. IF you like Winter World by Dixon, he's doing a new series of it (or a continuation, not sure which) from IDW starting soon.

Personally, I think Winter World is the best thing Dixon has ever written. Love the late Jorge Zafiro's art.

Great pick ups there, Scott. We just don't get yard sales full of American comics over here in the UK. *sniff* Very jealous.

That's a fantastic haul, Scott. Did you hurt your back from carrying out all that loot?

This comic cost me $2: And these set me back $5 for the pair: I remember buying that Superman: MOS for an unheard of $10 bucks...stupid 90s speculation market. Still, I love that book. Next time I meet John Bogdonove, I need to get him to sign that that. And those D&D books.. I remember buying those at a B Daltons (remember those?)...

That first appearance of Archangel is actually worth a decent amount, anyhwere from $20-30.
