Not lacking in action, this week's winning cover came from Farrar, with 3 votes. A blast from the past scored 2 votes each for foxley and Rob Allen. And not super, but still heroes, were DupiBR, Icctrombone, shaxper, Ish Kabibble, trakintino, Crimebuster, chaykinstevens and MDG: all receiving 1 vote.

Congrats to Farrar. The other winner this week is Greig Flessel, who occupies the top 3 spots this week. Perhaps a Flessel contest is in the future? Thanks everyone for participating. Loved the variety of early comic covers this week.

Flessel only died in 2008. He had a bit of a renaissance when fandom rediscovered him in the 2000s and he was a frequent guest at cons. He did a lot of sketches so there is quite bit of his art out there, and available at a more reasonable price than any other golden age artist.

Thanks for the votes, Edo, chaykin and Jesse. And glad to see other Flessel covers here; IMO he was one of the best cover artists ever, comics or other publications. MDG -- that's awful that you missed him! Btw after decades of not reading/thinking about comics at all, one huge factor for my "return" was seeing this Alter Ego cover in a Hudson News store in the neighborhood I'd just moved to. This cover absolutely mesmerized me; I just had to buy this periodical (and this jumpstarted my interest in comics history). The cover's by--you guessed it--Creig Flessel (then 93 years old). New contest will be posted in a few hours.
