Wow. I first came across Mr. Adams art when I was probably 15. I was and still am a huge silver/Bronze Age Avengers fan and was accumulating quite the collection . I remember going to a small comic store and seeing Avengers 96 with such an enraged Vision that I dropped the whole 25.00 I had in that 1 issue. First time I spent that much on any 1 comic, and it was worth it!

Adams was also one of the allies of Jenette Kahn when she took over running DC Comics. I've read that they spent extensive time together Considering they were a couple at the time, I'd guess they spent seriously extensive time together.
Cei-U! Neal and Jenny sittin' in a tree...
Well, I had read that, in the revised edition of Gerard Jones' The Comic Book Heroes; but, that was rather tabloidy and I never came across another reference to it, so, I kind of considered it more gossip than gospel, barring comment from either of them.

First Adams comic I bought off the stands. And it was a big one. I did meet him a couple of times. They were definitely in the "Good creator experiences" list.

Neal Adams is the first great to die that I knew personally. I wish I had the energy to share some anecdotes, but for now I'm just sad. May his memory be a blessing.

I'd have to dig it out of the vault to be 100% certain but I *think* Neal mentioned it in one of his interviews with Comic Book Artist in the late '90s.
Cei-U! I summon the iffy corroboration!

Those Tarzan covers were great. He could have been a top paperback cover artist instead of comics if he wanted. Here is my favorite (which has not been posted yet. The composition is so different, and I love thoste refletive puddles.

Those Tarzan covers are really outstanding! Undoubtedly--one woul have a hard time finding a genre he could not take to another level, with such story in individual pieces.
