Forever People #1 cover, inked by Frank Giacoia. I read somewhere recently (I believe from Mark Evanier) that Kirby intended Giacoia to ink his DC books. But Vince Colletta went to DC and got the contract to ink them (probably offering a reduced price). So alternative history. Giacioa was one of Kirby's better inkers and Kirby liked his work, so if he had inked the Fourth World books, we would never see Mike Royer take over for Colletta and we would not see those great Kirby/Royer pages. Giacoia did ink Kirby on his return to Marvel, notably on Captain America and the 2001 adaptation. BTW, Superman was not redrawn, just smoothed out a little by Frank. It also seems Giacioa inked an alternative for the Orion figure on New Gods #1.
