I now have three that are on my list that haven't been cited. I'm very confident that one of them will show and pretty confident that another one will. There is one that may actually be unique.

I've had 1 choice so far from a big 2 book. I have one more from such on my list. Of the others, I suspect some will get mentioned but the likelihood is less because they are not Marvel/DC couples. There are a lot of big 2 couples on my near miss list, but when I started pruning my brainstorm list to come down to my actual couples, most of those were the first to go.

I did a poll via FB recently, asking which Superman villain should be in a solo Superman film. I’m all for democracy, but Lex Luthor got most of the votes despite having been in 3 of the 4 Reeve movies, SUPERMAN RETURNS and a couple of modern films.
I suspect some may be voting in a predictable way. I mean, come on, give another Superman villain a chance!
This is why I like CCF Christmas, because you know it won’t be everyone going down a populist and predictable route. I wasn’t sure whether to include one of my choices because of it being an obscure UK couple, but then I realised that these are supposed to be personal lists.
Well done, everyone!

Bottom half of the list coming up! I'm excited to see the top 6 for everyone. I'm in amazement on how diverse we all are on our picks. Yeah, we'll have some overlapping at times but that deep dive everyone went on opens up that floodgate of more ideas of what could've been on our list. And now I have more reading material than ever to try. Be it something new or just going back and re-reading with a different lens.
I have 4 selections of my Top 6 that haven't been mentioned yet, but I think some will pop up soon.

I feel bad about myself. I’ve sent one choice to my “Near misses…” department and swapped them with a couple who were in the “Near misses…” department. Damn! But that’s the way things go. Much “deliberation” has gone on in my head about doing this. This event is just as enjoyable as the PWI Year End Awards. :

Damn, there are three days of this event to go but I have four “slots” left.
Who’s going to the “near misses” department? So wish it wasn’t my decision to make.

I'm going to try to get started today, finally. No pictures, most likely, since I find this tablet clumsy to deal with - I only use it when on holiday so this is the first time in 2 years, since Covid first began. I think Ive settled on my 12 picks, but the order will be a little random as in many cases I have no idea how to rank them.

Every time I see something on my list posted, I switch up to another one. There only 2 left that are duplicates of what we’ve seen.

Knew going into this there would be a core duplication so I purposefully avoided what I thought would be upon multiple lists. Of course there will be overlap but I'm liking most of them. I really worked on weeding out bad or plot support couples so those I choosed would really reflect the couples I ENJOYED and looked forward to reading when the popped up.
A busload of alternates to choose from! As well as avoidable. What a Christmas list this year...

Every time I see something on my list posted, I switch up to another one. There only 2 left that are duplicates of what we’ve seen. Each year, the bottom half of my list is always fluid as spots 12-6 are filled from a pool of candidates that overlaps my near misses, so if something gets the spotlight and I have something else I wanted to highlight, I might swap. But the top 5 spots are pretty set for me (except for order) as these are my absolute favorites of what the given topic is. -M

Yes . Instead of 5 Superman and Lois , I will make it 4 Superman and maybe one Jimmy Olsen and Lucy lane. ( just an example, no way I’m picking Olsen. )

My vote is Terra Man! He has the same origin as Star-Lord, but he's a villain. And more interesting with the old west twist - 1880s beats 1980s every time.

Dear all,
When we quote posts with their images during the 12 Days of Christmas event, it makes Kurt's job way more difficult when it's time to tally the results. That's why our host for this activity requested that we remove images from quoted posts.
Since enthusiasm sometimes gets the better of us, we can forget about that and images keep showing up in quoted posts.
Because I'm a lazy sod (one of my lesser failings) and don't want to write a PM each time it happens, I hope you don't mind if I just delete such images quietly (without altering anything else, naturally). So if you see that one of your posts in the Classic Comics Christmas thread was edited by yours truly, rest assured that only an extraneous image was removed. No slight is meant or implied; just a desire to make Kurt's job easier with as little fuss as possible.
Cheers!
