First off, can a mod sticky this thread so everyone can see it and we can publicize this to see if there is enough interest. Thanks in advance to whomever can do this.

I've tagged previous participants and a few others who I think might be interested in participating. No worries if you are not interested or unable to participate this year. If you weren't tagged and are interested you are absolutely welcome to join in on the fun. We've been doing this since 2016, and have had some steady participants and others who have jumped in and out as they are able to, and new participants are always welcome, so don't hesitate if you haven't participated before and are interested.
That all said, with postal delays being what they are, if we are going to do a Secret Santa this year, we should probably start early. However, with such delays, product shortages, the ongoing pandemic, employment situations and such, there may not be enough people interested this year to make it a go, so I am posting to find out. I am not entirely sure I will participate (I'm 50/50 right now but I usually end up joining in), but if others are interested, I will at least coordinate the event if it happens.
For those unfamiliar with the tradition here, this is the link to last year's Secret Santa.
Here are the logistics copied and slightly edited from last year:
I will use a randomizer to match entrants with the recipient of the gift, and e-mail folks with who they are getting a gift for and their address. If we have enough folks and have a Canadian and an American contingent, I will try to match folks from the same country to save on postage as international shipping can get quite pricey.
Gifts should be comic or geek culture related (unless you know the recipient has other interests from their posts here) and be in the range of $20-$25. Last year participants posted some of their interests, but that is optional, and let's wait to see if we have enough interested in participating before we do that.
You should send out the gift in time for the recipient to get it by Christmas.
When you receive your gift, post it here for others to see.
Be aware, you must provide a mailing address to participate (along with a name attached to the address), but I will only provide the info to whomever is sending your gift via private message. It will not be posted in the forums. This means please do not post address or any other personal info in this thread.
If anyone has questions or further suggestions, let me know.
I adjusted the price range up from $15-$20 to $20-$25 simply because pandemic prices mean everything costs more and what cost $15 last year probably costs $20 this year. If price range is an issue, we can adjust it as need be. Be aware postal rates have risen twice since last Christmas on priority and other packages, moreso on international rates.
So if you would be interested in participating sound off here in the thread. If we get enough people interested in participating, I will start collecting info form people.
So if you are interested in participating this year, simply post in this thread and if we get at least 6 people interested I will start the process of making it happen. I'll give it a week or so to see if we get enough people, then start collecting addresses and setting dates for name/info exchange and shipping deadlines if we are a go.
