Nightwing #80 : This continues to be awesome. I've never really been one of those guys that those Dick and Barbara would be a good couple, but their relationship is being handled awesomely here... I feel confident whatever way they go will work. The wallet thing was amazing, I lol'ed. I defintely want someone to come up with a single for 'Dick and the Nightwings' or something (those that's more a hair rock name than 'early 2000s' ).
I think the story is coming along fine as well... it's kinda nice to see them not feel obligated to make it a 6 issue arc if there's really only 4 issues of story. This is definitely my favorite big 2 book right now.
Legends of the Dark Knight #1 : Definitely interesting... seems like they're trying to capture a casual audience with this book... it's got Penguin, Mr. Freeze AND Joker in it and the action moves at a breakneck pace. No character stuff at all. Not bad, but a weird cliffhanger that could lead to it making a mess of the story.
Superman Red and Blue #3 : Just not feeling this one... the stories are ok, but the art gimmick has already gotten old, and the stories are hit an miss enough for this to not be worth the hefty cover price. Dropped.

I never read Spider-Man Life Story but after how much I enjoyed this I might need to track it down. I think a lot of my enjoyment of this came from the feeling that this is what a FF movie should kind of feel like. I may have to re-read this because I wasn't impressed. I'm a big fan of Mark Russell so I expected to be wowed, but I definitely was not. I understand that there's a lot of ground to cover in one comic. I really didn't like the way the relationship between Reed and Ben was handled. Ah well. Yeah, I wasn't particularly impressed either. Mind you, I've read so many alternate FF origins, it would have to have had some very creative new twist to grab me. As it is, nothing new or interesting here.

Last few items from this weeks pile:
Trials of Ultraman #3 : I'm not sure I love the presence of a young, original Ultraman in the story, but having bad guys building robot Kaiju is definitely a fun twist. I could do without the artificial and undefined power limit... seems too Silver Age to me, but overall this has been a good series with fun art.
Way of X #2 : No surprise that Spurrier is bringing Legion in... you wouldn't think the theme of the book would make sense, but it was set up in such a way that it kinda did, so that was good. I just hope this doesn't get embroiled in the other X-books so much that I need to read other ones to sort things out. Definitely LOVE the concept of Nightcrawler trying to find the soul of the mutant population, and the discussion about codenames was really cool.
Cimmerian: Iron Shadows in the Moon #2 : A bit slow... I think this issue could have been 1/2 as long.. we got quite a few splashes of Olivia's nightmares that just didn't do it for me. Maybe it's because this just isn't my favorite Conan story, but this has been my least favorite of the Blaze press offerings so far.
Minky Woodcock: The girl who electrified Tesla #2 : Nazis! of course there are Nazis. A bit more gratutitious nudity that I need to see in my comics, but the story is still good and moving along. Definitely worth it if you're a sucker for period pieces like I am.
