Well, we're almost halfway through the campaign, so I thought I'd provide an update. Right now we're at 87% funded, so it's going pretty well. The campaign is in the dead zone at the moment, so I'm grinding out cross promotion posts and stuff like that to try and get some more eyeballs on things. I also recently added 11x17 prints to the add-ons, and that helped, as several people adjusted their pledges upwards. It was a request from a backer, so it's nice to give people what they want! As always, thanks for all the support! |

Hello, friends! There's just 9 days left in the campaign, so I thought I'd give another update for those interested. Right now, we're fully funded! Hurray! So thank you all for the support, I really appreciate it! The official goal was $2800. As I'm typing this, we're at $3076, which just short of the first stretch goal, so I haven't announced any of the future stretch goals yet. But the scoop is this: in order to break even, I actually need to get closer to $3700. If we don't make it, fine, we're close enough so I don't mind taking a small loss in order to get this comic made. I'm not expecting to make money on this! But if we do get to the $3700 mark and this is self-sufficient, I and my artist Jay Piscopo will be doing a second issue. That's basically the last stretch goal (plus some other rewards) - guaranteeing another issue of the comic. If not, again, no problem. This story is complete and self-contained. But I do have an idea for a sequel I'm excited about, so we'll see what happens! With 9 days left, I think it's possible we might be able to reach that mark. My hope is that we make enough money to cover the costs of making the comic, and if we do, I'll just roll all that money back into the next comic. Anyway, just an update and a little peek behind the creative curtain! I'll be back with another update next weekend as we go into the final push. Who knows where we'll be then! Hey friends! Just wanted to make a quick note that m y campaign ends on Monday, in case you were interested in checking it out. We had a couple really bumpy days earlier this week, as several people cancelled their pledges at the same time. But we've rebounded nicely thanks to some generous people, and at this point it looks like issue #2 is going to be a go. Once this campaign ends and I get the money from it, I'll be rolling it over to pay Jay to begin issue #2. As with Crimebusters, this issue - and #2 - are going to be self-contained one-shots, so you can buy this with confidence that you won't have to wait a year to find out what happens at the end.  |
