I decided to pass on the Marvels... I don't want Astro City-like stories in the Marvel Universe, I want ACTUAL Astro City. Lots of books for me this week (as I didn't get to the store last week)... started with: Nightwing #79 : LOVED it. Dick having money and trying to figure out what to do with it is awesome. I fear he's not going to have it long though. We'll see. I'm not sure how I feel about Barbara being his girlfriend (or is she?). I like him with Kori if we're going the relationship thing.... but sadly the Titans Future State story was so bad I passed on Teen Titans Academy (maybe when it hits Hoopla). Robin #1 : Picked this up based on the recommendations here...seems like it should be pretty good, even if I don't like how they are likely going to resolve the last panel. I don't think Babs is with Dick, I think they're just comfortable together. I think it's possible she didn't physically take Damian's heart, it's just the way her power looks when she does it...either that or its called Lazarus Island for a reason.

I'm assuming the latter, the the 'fight to the death' is just as it says, but the loser get resurrected... for some amount of time, perhaps. The alternative, that's she did something else and its just a visual trick would be kinda cheesy imo.
Read a couple more this morning:
Black Widow #6 : First issue of the new direction, where Natasha has named herself (and perhaps her friends? Yelena at least is there) protector of San Francisco. Very action based issue, which was fine, but nothing amazing. Looks like a sidekick might be in her future. (Or maybe they'll kill her off for emotional effect, we'll see). Still not clear where it's going, but good enough to stick with
Beta Ray Bill #2 : Bill gets some friends and a quest... I think I'd be more into this is the art was better, (definitely not my favorite style), and the premise that Bill is so insecure about his looks that he has to literally storm hell to change them seems a bit false for the character.. just an excuse for the quest. I feel like there could be a better one without that much trouble.
Way of X #1 : COULD be the best of the bunch, or not. Hard to tell yet. The premise is Nightcrawler is trying to find the moral center of Krakoa, and is distrubed by the younger X-men's cavalier attitude about death. He sees Magneto influencing their thoughts and wants to go another way, but he's not sure what way. Then, of course, because Si Spurrier is the writer, Legion turns up. That could be awesome, or silly.. we'll see. Also, Doctor Nemesis is growing psychadelic mushrooms out of his head. Yeah, it was as weird as it sounds, but hey, Spurrier did also write Six Gun Gorilla, so not that surprising.

Couple more from this weeks pile:
Shadow Doctor #3 : We get some back story, and the first time Capone uses his new tool... very good stuff.. highly recommend grabbing the trade in a few months [/b]
Abbott 1973 #4 : Oooff.. the next issue is going to be a doozy. Still not crazy about the 'Lightbringer' elements... it's all too easy. Her brother's reactions to it all were awesome though.
Usagi #19 : A done-in-one with some connections to the past... the story still seemed a bit light on the historical and cultural context, but definitely moving in the right direction. the next issue splash (showing a younger rabbit samurai) is very intriguing!
Trials of Ultraman #2 : Robot Kaiju?!? Crazy. this might starting falling into the 'hero faces impossible odds then defeats them easily anyway' plot type, which I don't love, but Shin continues to be an interesting character, and this is way better than the abortive Netflix attempt at revival.
