We're not the scorned partner who gets dumped and sits there brooding; we're the one who moves on, finds a better relationship and life, and never looks back (all the while driving the other partner insane with jealousy and regret). No wonder I can't really grasp what you're saying.

I just posted this in Meanwhile- Just a random comment- I do most of my comic book posting here at CCF. I only use the CBR for the comic book cover contest. It's way too hostile there and I don't want to be banned for a silly post taken out of context by a fragile mind. I haven't gone to any of the forums on CBR in weeks, and haven't posted there since very shortly after the separation. Just not interested. I still go to CBR every day for news and articles, though.

Er well I just got here, but it already seems like it is more fun here than CBR. That place has been pretty much dead since the reboot, at least on the classic comics section, which is the only place I have much interest in any more. That's because all the interesting and cool people came over here. Then they let me in just to prove there are exceptions to the rule. We didn't let you in to prove there are exceptions to the rule.... ...it was to lower the mean so we all look that much better.... Eat more bananas! Viva le Daffy! -M

Now someone needs to go send out a search party for Red Oak Kid. There was also a guy who IIRC knew Cei-U! IRL; can't recall his moniker.

Yup. The articles. Why I read CBR. And Playboy.

I still check out the Comics Should Be Good page; I like Brian Cronin's stuff. But in the forum I stick to the cover contest and random quotes. The chat thread is just lifeless. Apparently, they're starting to allow other off-topic chat threads; the Ultimate Marvel forum has theirs back. But I seriously doubt that Rita's is coming back anytime soon.

The only articles I ever read were the Eisner winners really. A preview here and there, but not too often.

I've never read many of CBR's articles. Anything they wrote about new stuff always felt overly filled with praise. I did enjoy Brian Cronin. He's top notch. But really, the only reason I joined CBR in the first place back in 2006 was because they had an active classic comics section.

Comics Should Be Good is still going strong. Particularly Brian Cronin. But also Greg Hatcher every Friday.
That reminds me. Brian is currently collecting votes for favorite writers and artists. I should go advertise that. The more votes, the better the results!

There was also a guy who IIRC knew Cei-U! IRL; can't recall his moniker. That would be Dr. Cyclops a.k.a. my former caregiver, roommate and student Dino Pidone. He's aware of CCF but hasn't gotten around to joining yet. Cei-U! I need to remind him... again!

I still don't really understand how or why the Classics Board was jettisoned from CBR in the aftermath of the recent meltdown, but I remember getting the impression at the time that it was more a kind of side-effect of the general housecleaning imperative that took over the CBR administrators' mindset then than any special animus against it.
I could almost see them thinking, "Oh, and we might as well get rid of that stupid Classics Board that no one ever looks at, while we're at it." But who knows.

But it was a good jumping off point. I personally don't agree with what they did going nuclear, but even if I did, I don't see how anyone can agree to their new way of doing things over there.
