I really liked Frost Giant's Daughter . I don't think the adult nature of the art was contrary to the story.. did we NEED the graphic parts? I supose not, just like we don't NEED to see the graphic violence, but it's part of the story. Depending on the audience, you can portray it as graphically (or as G rated) as suits the audience... since we've had comic code approved versions before, I'll all for an 'NSFW' version.
I thought it worked really, really well. The underwater graveyard was absolutely perfect, IMO, as was Atali's reaction to it... how else would a Goddess whose sole purpose in life is to feed warriors to her brothers react?

I wanted to like "Future State: Titans" - the only Future State book I've tried.
but it was just a confusing mess - characters whom I had NO IDEA who they were (and were not introduced at all), time shifts from "now" to "then" - but BOTH confusing, so this just made it more so.
and *apparent* nods to something going on in another Future State book - but no note saying to "look there for full story". . .
so. . . meh.

Is Future State basically DC's One Year Later all over again? It's a possible future of the DCU. A lot of the concepts were from the cancelled Generations event that would have united all eras of DC continuity. Covid and Dan DiDio's firing led to them scrapping it in the form it would have been. It's probably closer to the Convergence event in terms of being a 2 month event that leads into the next "relaunch": Infinite Frontier. |

Is Future State basically DC's One Year Later all over again? I have cut my list significantly and I am not getting these titles. My impression was it was 5-10 years from now. Similar to Marvel MC2 line? |

Future state has several timelines... and they're ALOT more than that in the future.. some hundreds of years. It's not clear how they're going to relate that to the books going forward, but my impression is there simply isn't going to be a DCU anymore... the books will just interact when they do.

Is Future State basically DC's One Year Later all over again? I think it was initially meant to be similar in execution to One Year Later only on a broader scale and with larger implications...but as is its pretty much just a big elseworlds story and not all the pieces fit together very well. |

I think it was initially meant to be Sounds like every DC companywide event ever. Ha yeah, but this is especially messy as it's pretty much just them trying to eek out some profit from work that had already been paid for before the project was scrapped. |
