ah. I LOVE the Legion. . tho the new book is doing nothing for me, and dropped it many issues ago. I want the version back that has Tellus, Sensor Girl, Quislet. . and mix in some of the other later characters, such as Catspaw, Gates, Computo.. etc.

Don't worry, friend, many of us know Quislet, Tellus and Sensor Girl! Long Live the Legion! It was cool seeing your art, RR. Do you only publish in French? I have English-language versions available! The links thereto can be found in this post.

I didn't know what your avatar was either, I'm afraid spoon. I don't think I've ever read an issue of Legion of Super-Heroes in my life. I had a good friend at school in the early 80s who was a fan, so I know names like Lightning Lad, Phantom Girl, Element Lad, and Shadow Lass because he would talk about them (Shadow Lass was his favourite character if I remember rightly). But I was never interested in reading the comic really. I was firmly a Marvel zombie at that point.

It was one of the DC superhero comics I read for a couple years in the early 80s, after giving up on Marvel. But I didn't recognise Spoon's avatar either.
I might try to join the Zoom-chat next time, depending on when it is. I was around this afternoon but ended up sleeping most of the day away after staying up too late last night.

I first got into it around 2003 (when I really wasn't buying any other new comics). Then, I went back and read Legion from various eras. I haven't followed it in a few years though.

I'd never heard the name Quislet before today. I haven't read a Legion story published after 1978.

I was interesting to talk to people instead of just typing and reading. I discovered that many folks don't know what my avatar image is. I think Legion is a niche thing, and mid to late 1980s Legion is a niche within that. I read the classic Curt Swan LSH stories and the Darkness Saga and stopped around 300 of that series. The character you have as an Avatar is unknown to me but that team has around 150 members. That's a lot to keep track of.

Sorry. Couldn't get back here long enough to write. Wanted to say a HUGE thanks to Icctrombone for setting up the Zoom call yesterday and doing a great job as the emcee. You should have a talk show. So great to see so many fellow self-admitted nerds, though I have to say, my knowledge of comics (and my memory) is minuscule compared to everyone else's. It was like watching a group of physicists talking quantum mechanics. I'd never even heard Rob Liefeld's name spoken aloud before; I realized I've been mispronouncing it in my head all these years. Here's the best part. Everyone (everyone else, anyway) was friendly, funny and interesting. I am also sorry that I shaved my moustache and beard, Roquefort Raider, but I had to do my best not to look as old as Shazam. Judging by the screen-capture, it didn't help much. Will be hiring a body double for the next go-round. Hope we can do it again!

I forgot to mention that Confessor looked like John Lennon. Tell him to stay away from the Dakota.

I forgot to mention that Confessor looked like John Lennon. Tell him to stay away from the Dakota. Well, I'll take that as a huge compliment. I've also been to the Dakota; on the same trip where I met you. Actually, I actually get the whole "you look like John Lennon" thing a lot when I'm in the U.S. I think the English accent doesn't help. One time, my wife and I were having breakfast in a little cafe in the tiny town of Mentone, Alabama, and they had this guy strumming guitar in the corner. As soon as he saw me he asked me if I was a Beatles fan and when he realised that I was English, that was it -- he proceeded to play Beatles covers for us for the next hour or so.

At least he didn’t ask you to play for your dinner.
