One of my recently acquired treasures is an issue of Marvel Chillers with Tigra and Kraven the Hunter.
The art is by Frank Robbins and Vince Colletta ... and it’s glorious!
I’m glad I learned to appreciate these two when they did good work.
Ill remember to bring it up next time.

I notice you "forgot" to mention your stating Steranko and Kaluta are over-rated since they are known as cover artists and haven't contributed as much between the covers brother Icctrombone . And you forgot to note how you managed to sneak in Liefeld and Image into the talks once more. Vinnie da C has missed out the last 2 Zoom's, so you can expect a late night visitor sometime soon to extract proper recompense for your neglect. Without looking, I'd venture that Kaluta has produced 3x the number of story pages Steranko has, despite entering the business 3-4 years after him. Much of his later stuff might be under the radar, like 2-3 different Starstruck series. |

I’m glad I learned to appreciate these two when they did good work. Ill remember to bring it up next time. That issue was my ONLY Tigra comic in my collection for a very long time. I was simply addicted to this for 2 reasons. It was the unique Frank Robbins artwork which made it stand out and the Colletta inks really helped. The 2nd reason was the very perfect story idea of Kraven hunting down the were-cat woman. Tigra versus/hunts Kraven is a natural and needs to be revisited in a modern story as a graphic novel or limited series! |
