Summarizing today's quick get together we discussed the rationalizing of too much reality imposing into the fun of comic books and movies. That Hollywood and many writers and even fans are so locked into realism while forgetting we are talking of fantastic elements. Can't put our heroes in comic book style suits because they look silly, so dress em up in leather and plastic armor for more realistic belief. A gun no matter it's style using a silencer just goes "soft zip" when that isn't really how it works or a man can pick up and fire a 55 calibre machine mounted machine gun or in westerns you can fan through 6 rounds in rapid succession without ripping your hand to pieces? Reality is optional and used as needed, not always as it should be.
Talk ran into discussion of wild turkeys on the loose escaping from Jersey while straying into what types of critters make for good eating's if inclined. Short end is avoid varmint's like possum and skunk! Talk turned towards the sad sack always down on his luck nerd Peter Parker and how he loses even when he wins. With friends, family and foes. That Peter was a bit of a "jerk" with his friends and how JJJ (and General Ross) seemingly got away with their vendetta's and becoming more villainous in many of their actions than other real villains in the comics.
There was of course the usual visits on Liefeld, Image and Colletta thanks to our gracious host. See what you folks are missing ot on? Drop in sometime for a heaping helping of Roadkill stew, ear plugs available upon request if you tire of the revisits for Liefeld, Image and Colletta. You all come back now, hear?!?
Oh and almost forgot:consensus is Jonny Quest cartoon series rules!
