I haven't been able to find the Conan book yet (I didn't realize it was coming out to pull). I'll have to hunt for it! Not totally sure when these came out, but: Nightwing #77 : Christmas one shot story that was fun in a heart warming way, even if it didn't mak even a small amount of sense. (Dick rewards a hacker by buy her and her friends an apartment building, and having Wayne Enterprises buy the company she was attacking so they can get re-hired, all because he didn't approve of their venture captialism? Really?) Once and Future #14 : I feel like after a really story beginning, it's kinda lost now. I guess now any old tale can come to life and you have to fight the monsters that go with it? Maybe if I read the couple I missed on Hoopla it'll make more sense. Ultraman #4 Very interesting big reveal... I hope they go somewhere with it. Seems like they'll be another mini after this one, so here's hoping! If not, the last issue promises a good Kaiju fight

Detective Comics #1033. Written by Peter J. Tomasi. Art by Brad Walker. Damn. Tomasi's run ends with this issue. It started off strong but got quickly wrapped up due to DC's soft reboot coming in March. Tomasi captures the relationships between the Bat Family well. IMO Tomasi excels writing "family" whether that was his Nightwing run or his Batman & Robin series or his recent Superman run (before Bendis). I really think this recent run was going to be one of his best but it seemed to fall apart a bit with a rushed feeling this issue. I also felt Walker's art looked rushed and a little sloppy. 6/10. I've been enjoying Detective lately as well. The whole mayoral race with the anti-vigilante angle has been intriguing. I felt that this last issue seemed kind of rushed too, having to finish up quickly with Future State looming. But the action sequences were well done with Hush, and delving into their backstory a bit. (This page tells us so much, it would work without the dialogue). I could have done with a bit less of the soap opera between Bruce and Damien, and the rest of the Bat family were basically non-existent even though they had all been captured in previous issues as part of the storyline. But all in all, it was still a solid issue. And I can make concessions for having to wrap it all up due to the hard deadline. I'm sad that this ends Tomasi's run because I have enjoyed Detective this year.
