Finally bought my first one of these over the weekend, grabbing the Captain America from Target. Keeping an eye out for Falcon so I can hang them together on the wall.

Found Wolverine at a considerable markup at FYE, so I can confirm the new wave is out there.

While I've been working hard to buy less from Amazon in the past year, I have to admit that they are doing a great job with toys lately. Whereas trying to find new toys on their site in the past was always pretty much a joke, they now ship so many of their figures faster and cheaper than the competition, and seven of the eight figures I ordered arrived in perfect condition, with unpunched cards to boot. Only one (Green Goblin, pictured below) had a slightly bent corner on his card. Here's the newest wave of Marvel Legends. I paid $11 a piece: I may never buy from Big Bad Toy Store again.

WOW! So exited! Too bad they didn't do New Warriors cards for FireStar and Nova (then I could have hope for the rest) but the old school 'Man called Nova' logo looks great, too.
I was worried they were petering out, I guess I didn't have to worry

I pre-ordered all but the AF Spidey, as I don't feel that I need THREE Spidey variants. If I'm not mistaken, this is the first wave that is being packed with figures from the first wave (Captain America and Iron Man), or maybe that's why there were only four new figures in the previous wave as well. Is that an effort to keep those figures available to general audiences or a sign that the series is slowing down?

Every wave except wave 4 has had at least one repack from the earliest waves and yes it’s in an effort to keep the most recognizable characters available for new incoming buyers.

Amazing Walmart find from a recent visit! Congrats! All I ever see on Wal Mart shelves is Black Panther and Invisible Woman. What does that say about our culture? Yikes.

You would need sales figures for what it means regarding the Black Panther figure. Either no one wanted it or Walmart ordered many of them and they sold. What you might be seeing is the left overs.

Black Panther was included in several waves because initial sales were so strong. IT was also double and triple packed in some cases, again because of strong initial demand. I think the leftovers are because demand was met and there was supply leftover. Now it may say something when you look over to the Star Wars figures on the same aisle, and in every Star Wars line (reg, Black Series, etc.) the peg warmer was Lando. -M

They finally got him into the last movie, but there should have been a full reunion during the first movie with him, Han, Leia, and Luke. Lando was definitely a mainstay character after Billy Dee's exceedingly charming and classic performances in ESB and ROTJ, and his frequent appearances in EU material attest to that enduring popularity at least back then. So I'm going with the theory Disney did him no favors.

I honestly thought Donald Glover's portrayal in Solo was the single best moment in the Star Wars cinematic franchise since the Death Star blew up for the second time.

Oh, I fully agree, I loved Glover’s performance as well! I was just thinking more the lack of success of the film as a whole, but yeah, he made a great young Lando.

Someone else noticed the Lando action figure situation. The vintage (TESB anniversary) line were constantly sold out / poached, except for TESB Lando--there's still many on pegs and in boxes just sitting on shelves more than a year after the wave it was a part of ceased distribution. Same with the "General Calrissian" figure. That's no coincidence, but a comment that for Star Wars fans, Lando--no matter how much of a major character he was in the OT--is not seen that way by fans and/or collectors.
I believe its not because he's a "hated character" (or, he should not be, since he's responsible for two of the biggest heroic acts in the OT), but he's cast aside for a very unfortunate reason.
